Alice Pearl Weve

Funeral for Alice Pearl Weve, 66, of Dardanelle, who died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charlie Tharp officiating. Burial was in Sherrellville cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brad Lamberth, Cody Lamberth, Jeff Lamberth, James Wayne Weve, Justin White, and Tim Tharp.
She was a native of Houston, Texas, daughter of the late Owen and Iva Mae Harkleroad Tharp, widow of James Weve, Baptist, and graduate of Mount Hope (Kansas) High School.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Cline of Newport and Sue Weve of Maryland; six sons, Roy Lamberth and wife, Glenda, of Dardanelle, Bryan Lamberth and wife, Laura, and Greg Fregia and wife, Marsha, all of Russellville, Chris Weve of Sulphur, La., James Weve and wife, Regina, of Mount Hope, Kan., and Paul Weve and wife, Heather, of Harrisonburg, Va.; one brother, Charles Tharp and wife, Judy, of Dardanelle; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billie L. Odom

A memorial service for Billie L. Odom, 41, of Coal Hill, who died Jan. 29, 2007, in Clarksville, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at the Oakwood cemetery in Paris.

Douglas M. Wills

Douglas McArthur Wills, 65, of Fort Smith, formerly of Clarksville, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, in Fort Smith.
He was a native of Sykes, Smith County, Tenn., son of the late Alta Mae Webster and Johnnie Hatton Wills, retired plant manager, veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U. S. Army from 1968-1970, and was preceded in death by siblings, L. D. Wills, Dora Draughty, Bertha Bready Hunt, Margaret Wills and Thomas Wills.
Survivors include three sons, Jonathan Douglas Wills of Tennessee; Rev. Paul Douglas (Tammy) Wills of Norman, and Michael McArthur Wills of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Weston and Mason Wills; and four sisters, Johnnie Sue Hogin of Gallatin, Tenn., Georgia (Hollis) Blair of Gordonsville, Tenn., Lavon Bluhm of Lavergne, Tenn., and Tillie Brunotts of Nashville, Tenn.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were the staff of River Valley Health and Rehabilitation Southeast Wing.
Graveside services and burial, with military honors, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Gordonsville cemetery in Gordonsville, Tenn., under the direction of Bass Funeral Home of Gordonsville, Tenn.

Herman "Blue" Steele

Herman "Blue" Wilson Steele, 92, of Ozark died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, in Van Buren.
He was a native of Hartman, retired steam engineer for Fiberboard in Vernon, Calif., member of the River Valley Community Church of Ozark, veteran of the United States Air Force serving in World War II and son of the late George Ab and Elizabeth Davis Steele.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Quisenberry Steele; two sons, Bruce Steele and wife, Selena, of Temecula, Calif., and Greg Steele and wife, B. J., of Reno, Nevada; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Shaffer Funeral Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Jan Akins officiating. Burial will be in Highland cemetery at Ozark.
Pallbearers will be Larry Fleming, Jack Sossamon, Clifford Hawkins, Jack Hawkins, Wayne English, and Clyde Arnold.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Shaffer Funeral Chapel.

Hester Ann Bowen

Hester Ann Bowen, 95, of Clarksville died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, in Clarksville.
A native of the Harmon Community, she was a daughter of the late Francis Marion and Elizabeth Sisco Buchannan, widow of Herbert Raymond Bowen, attended New Life Tabernacle Church of Baldwin, and was preceded in death by one son, Ernest Gordon Bowen; one daughter, Delilah Faye Sory; and four grandchildren, James Bowen, Artie Hill, Gordon Dewayne Bowen, and Dennis Ricky Bowen.
She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Wetha Bowen of Wesley; two sons, Francis Raymond Bowen of Tecumseh, Okla., and Harold Bowen of Wesley; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. John Martin and Rev. William Hickman officiating. Burial was in Williams cemetery at Ozark.
Pallbearers were Shawn Harris, William Pizzotti, Carl Sory, Curt Doss, Billy Turner, and Jerry Buchannan.

Paul A. King

Paul Alfred King, 83, of Clarksville died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late Winfred R. and Ethel Hays King, graduate of Clarksville High School, Navy veteran of World War II, member of Hays Chapel Methodist Church, retired auto body repairman and poultry farmer, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Smith King, and one son, Robert James King.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Koontz King; four daughters, Paula Norwood of Princeton, N. J., Marjorie King of Montague, Calif., Diane Gist of El Sodrante, Calif., and Betty Buginas of El Cerrito, Calif.; one son, John King of Vallejo, Calif.; three brothers, James Coy King of Russellville and Hays King and Bruce King, both of Green River, Wyo.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Hays Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Butler officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be John King, Dean Wadley, Jim Reeves, Darrell Wadley, Coy King, Hays King, David Norwood, and Jared Hatcher.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.

William Barber

William (Bill) Barber, 87, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at Bailey Medical Center in Owasso, Okla.
A native of Fort Douglas, he was a son of the late John Taylor and Maggie May Warren Barber, state senior bowling champ, served in the U. S. Army during World War II, and was preceded in death by his first wife of 45 years, Erla Mae Barber; second wife, Hazel Barber; one great-granddaughter, Rachel Hight; one stepdaughter, Cheryll Buker; and four sisters, Anna Freeman, Flora Wilson, Rosetta Barber and Mary Ellen Barber, all of Hagarville.
Survivors include three children, Marilyn Glass of Tulsa, Okla., Gary Barber and wife, Bonita, of Sand Springs, Okla., and Debby McCall and husband, Don, of Owasso, Okla.; three stepsons, Gary Hoff and wife, Pat, of Iowa, Kerry Hoff of Tulsa, Okla., and Doug Hoff of Owasso, Okla.; one stepson-in-law, Mike Buker of Owasso, Okla.; one brother, J. T. Barber and wife, Wilma, of Hagarville; one sister, Wanda Jean Crumrine and husband, Harold, of Hagarville; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Moore's Funeral Home Chapel in Owasso, Okla., followed by graveside services and burial Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Annie's Chapel cemetery north of Lamar.
Memorials may be made to The Little Light House in Tulsa, Okla.

Arlis Selph

Arlis Selph, 88, of Scranton died Monday, July 23, 2007, at Paris.
A native of Scranton, he was a son of the late Eugene and Lennie McDaniel Selph, former employee of Hickory Springs Manufacturing in Fort Smith, retired employee of Cloyes Gear in Paris, and a member of Scranton Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Robbie Lee Selph; three daughters, Charlotte Jones and Dian Bradley, both of Paris, and Lorraine Ault of Clarksville; six sons, Arthur of Paris, Quinten and Dewayne, both of Scranton, Gary of Hartman, Oneil of Gracemont, Okla., and Carlton of Sapulpa, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at Scranton Holiness Church with burial at McKendree cemetery north of Subiaco. Arrangements were under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
Active pallbearers were Kris Westbrook, Nathan and Adam Jones, Wesley Selph, Dewayne Ault and Chris Bradley.
Honorary pallbearers were Norman Selph, John Shelton, Bill Hughes, Leroy Muncy, Ray Harrison, David Pearrow, Joe Fritchie, and Johnny Spellins.
Memorials may be made to Scranton Holiness Church, 14092 East State Highway 197, Scranton, AR 72863.
