Junior Glen Mathews

Junior Glen Mathews, 77, of Ozark, whose son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sherrie Mathews, reside in Clarksville, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, in Fort Smith.
He was a native of Downing, Mo., son of the late Ollie and Ola Mathews, truck driver, and U. S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Ina Mathews; three other sons, David Mathews of Pattensburg, Mo., Steve Mathews and wife, Susie, of Ozark, and James Mathews and wife, Michelle, of Perry, Okla.; three stepdaughters, Sheri Huff and husband, Gary, of Minnesota, Beth Stafford of California, and Janet Parker and husband, Ray, of Tennessee; one stepson, Teri Bilbe and wife, Denise, of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Marie Hubbard and husband, Max, of Bloomfield, Iowa; one brother, Raymond Mathews and wife, Laura Mae, of Bloomfield, Iowa; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Active pallbearers were Derek, John and Larry Schmoker, Jimmy Martin, James (Bo) Graves, and Eugene Finney.
Honorary pallbearers were T. J. Schmoker, Michael Sirratt, Charles Cagle, Kevin Brown, Lance Schmoker and Bill Brown.

Lois Ellison

Lois Ellison, 81, of Ozark, grandmother of Jairus Martin of Clarksville, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at Clarksville.
She was a native of the Cravens Community in Franklin County, daughter of the late Johnny and Dora Patterson Williams, retired Cargill employee, member of the Old Country Church of Ozark and was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Bill, Noble and Riddle Williams; four sisters, Willie Mae Williams, Sula Williams, Jonnie Lee and Laura Sisk; one great-granddaughter, Annie Acord; and son-in-law, Tom Brown.
Survivors include her husband of 62-plus years, Troy Ellison; three daughters, Norma Rice and husband, Don, of Elephant Butte, N. M., and Lucille Martin and husband, Jerry, and Wanda Brown, all of Ozark; two sons, J. D. Ellison and wife, Helen, and Clifton Ellison and wife, Debbie, all of Ozark; two sisters, Wanda Rice of Altus and Isabell Grayson of Ozark; one brother, Paul Williams of Ozark; 10 other grandchildren, Dewayne Rice of Atkins, Sheila Hall of Waldron, Lisa Acord, Troy Don Ellison and Keith Ellison, all of Altus, Angie Green of Springdale, Mark Ellison of Gentry, Cliff Ellison of Ozark, Melissa Cooke of Prairie Grove, and Jared Martin of Russellville; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 19, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Russ Whittingham officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery at Ozark.
Active pallbearers were Johnny Walter Williams, Jackie Williams, Billy Williams, Edward Williams, Alford Williams, and Johnny Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Sisk, Jimmy Sisk, Paul Lee, Kenneth Williams, and Orville Williams.

Patricia L. Driskell

Patricia L. Driskell, 73, of Crosby, Texas, died Sunday, July 22, 2007, at her home.
A native of Texas, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Uriah and Gladys Lucille Young Riggins, widow of Mervin Gene Driskell, formerly of the Harmony Community, and was preceded in death by two daughters, Merylin Driskell and Theresa Anderson.
Survivors include one daughter, Gladys Dannelly and husband, Richard, of Splendora, Texas; two brothers, Ronnie Lee Riggins and wife, Anita, of Crosby, Texas, and Samuel Uriah Riggins and wife, Debbie, of Jacksonville, Texas; and two grandchildren, James Barnett and Lisa Barnett.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at the Liberty Hill cemetery at Hunt with David Zeiler officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Richard Fraska

Richard Fraska, 37, of Ozark, brother of DeWayne Fraska of Clarksville, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, in Fort Smith from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident which occurred just east of the intersection of Watalula Road and Arkansas State Highway 23 north.
He was a native of Springfield, Mass., welding instructor at Arkansas Tech University - Ozark Campus, U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Gulf War, and owner of Aux Arc Welding.
Other survivors include three daughters, Cassandra and Rebecca Fraska of the home and Laura Parkhurst of Russellville; parents, Richard Fraska Sr. and Christine Arterton Fraska of Ozark; and one sister, April Fraska of McKinney, Texas.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with military honors. The body was cremated.

Rose Arrowood

Rose Arrowood, 80, of Clarksville died Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
She was a native of West Chester, Pa., daughter of the late John and Mary Cazone Amoriella, widow of Albert Arrowood Sr., and was preceded in death by two daughters, Tammy Arrowood and Joan Sturgis.
Survivors include three sons and spouses, Albert Arrowood Jr. and Patty and Donald F. Arrowood and Marie, all of Clarksville, and Joseph J. Arrowood and Yvette of London; two brothers, Tony Amoriella and Ernie Amoriella, both of Downing Town, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Albert Arrowood III, Malinda Jones and Rita Sturgis, all of Clarksville, Jody Arrowood and Terry Jones of Benton, Clinton Arrowood of London, Heather Postlewait of Potter County, Pa., Amanda Freer of Clearwater, Fla., and Chad Bar of Austin, Pa.; and six great-grandchildren, Heather Arrowood, Trenton Arrowood and Quenton Arrowood of Benton, Kayley Arrowood and Brittany Jones of Clarksville, and Madison Wood of Clearwater, Fla.
The body was cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at the Arrowood home.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Raymond Charles Ernest Schkade

Rev. Raymond Charles Ernest Schkade, 78, passed away on June 17, 2007.
Ray was born on August 14, 1928 in Giddings, Texas, the son of Edmund and Meta (Jatzlau) Schkade. He married Kathryn Kirshberger, daughter of Ulrich and Helen Kirshberger of Lamar, Arkansas, on Aug. 13,1950 in Giddings, Texas. Pastor Schkade was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dean Schkade of Austin, Texas; sister, Joyce Carleston of Giddings, Texas; and brother-in-law, Carl Kirshberger of Clarksville, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathryn Schkade; his son, Craig Schkade and wife, Nancy and their daughter, Amber of Corpus Christi, Texas; his son, Kevin Schkade and wife, Debbie and their children, Erin and Ryan of Giddings, Texas; daughter, Tammy Churchill and husband, Jim and their children, Timothy, Daniel and Emily of Dallas, Texas; brothers-in-law, Herbert Carleston of Giddings, Texas and Walt Kirshberger and wife, Bonnie of Hensley, Arkansas; niece, Kimberly Glattstein and husband, Seth; nephews, Lang Kirshberger and Steve Kirshberger and wife, Linda; great-nieces, Megan Glattstein and Lainey Kirshberger; great-nephew, Max Glattstein.
Ray completed his seminary training at Concordia Theological Seminary, Springfield, Illinois in 1954 and then accepted the call to serve as the first pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas. He was a dedicated servant of the Lord, working for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod for over 40 years in various positions. He retired in 1994. He also served in the Army Reserve and the Texas National Guard for over 30 years, retiring with the rank of colonel in 1988. Ray and Kathryn lived in Austin for 49 years, before moving to the Schkade family ranch near Giddings in 2002. Ray enjoyed living in the country, watching the wildlife; he was also an avid sports fan.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas. Burial with military honors followed at Austin Memorial Park.

Betty Berry Fox

Betty Ray Berry Fox, 65, of Clarksville died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
She was a native of Dickson County, Tennessee, daughter of the late Raymond A. and Mary Cooksey Berry, former elementary school teacher in Kennett (Missouri) Public School System, member of Hilltop Bible Church, and was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Kent Fox.
Survivors include her husband, Billy G. Fox; three sons, Matthew (Shary) Fox of Kirksville, Mo., John W. (Dawn) Fox of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Jesse D. Fox of Kirksville, Mo.; two daughters, Regena M. (Alvin) Mason of Clarksville and Holly R. (David) Carter of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Bill (Emily) Berry of Vanleer, Tenn.; one sister, Linda (Stan) Reynolds of Dickson, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Dickson, Tenn., with Rev. Billy G. Fox officiating. Burial was in Vanleer cemetery in Dickson County, Tennessee.

Donna C. Barnum

Donna C. Barnum, 61, of Dover, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Wayne and Elizabeth Love Harolld, former employee of Con-Agra Foods, United States Navy veteran, member of St. John's Catholic Church in Russellville, and was preceded in death by one sister.
Survivors include her husband, Myron (P. T.) Barnum; one son, Chuck Barnum of Pensacola, Fla.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Mike and Ora Jane Harolld of Russellville, David Harolld of Mobile, Ala., and Larry and Pat Harolld of Phoenix, Ariz.; and one sister and brother-in-law, Maribeth and Cecil Finn of Washington.
The family will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at St. Benedict Catholic Church at Subiaco officiated by Abbott Jerome Kodell. Burial of the cremains will be in Holy Redeemer cemetery in Clarksville.
