Dennis Vaught
Dennis Vaught, 90, of Fayetteville, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Fayetteville.
He was a cattle farmer, Protestant, son of the late Christopher Columbus and Martha Patterson Vaught, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Jo Crowson; one granddaughter, Mary Lynn Crowson; one great-granddaughter, Tristan Vaught; one brother, Denvis Vaught; and three sisters, Floy Dewberry, Ruth McMillian, and Maude Arbaugh.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Vaught; one son, James (Stanley) Vaught of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Dean Waddell and Dr. Buel Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Oark cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Bryce Vaught, Marcus Waddell, Ryan Vaught, R. T. Waddell, Bobby Bartlett and Junior Young.
Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Houston, Jimmie Dewberry, Gerald Vaught, Jimmy Vaught, Donald Vaught, J. T. Heaslet, Gene Parsley and Gary Smith.
Norma J. Patterson
Norma Jean (Susie) Patterson, 63, of Clarksville died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at her home.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late George Frank and Ira Reba Wilkins Campbell, graduate of Clarksville High School, member of East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church and Mt. Vernon Grange, past matron of Belle Grove Chapter No. 56 Order of the Eastern Star, and retired employee of Tyson Foods after 24 years of service.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Patterson; one daughter, Sharlla Patterson of Clarksville; one son, Terry Patterson of Clarksville; three stepsons, Robert Patterson of Hartman, Ronnie Patterson of California, and Mike Patterson of Clarksville; one stepdaughter, Marlene Cooper of Clarksville; two brothers, J. C. Campbell of Clarksville and Maxie Don Campbell of Lancaster, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, at East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Vernon cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Carl Curtis, Burley Shook, Vester (Nap) Felkins, John Dorney, Jerry Dorney and Bobby Cooper.
W. A. Tudor
Retired Major W. A. Tudor, 78, of Scranton, AR died Sunday, May 20, 2007, after a long battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease.
Major Tudor was well known and well respected in the law enforcement community as well as in the Arkansas political arena. He started his career as a firefighter in Van Buren, AR and fifty seven years ago with Arkansas State Police as a radio operator in Forrest City, AR. After a short time in that capacity, he then moved to Little Rock as a Trooper and started his climb to the rank of Major as Commander of the Criminal Investigation Division. One of his duties in this position was head of the Governor's Security during Dale Bumpers and David Pyror's administrations. He also commanded the Highway Patrol Section for the last two years of his tenure which ended in 1981.
After retiring from the Arkansas State Police, he worked as Director of Food Stamp Fraud for the Department of Human Services, and then as Director of the Medicaid Fraud Unit of the Attorney General's Office. Major Tudor continued to work as a consultant to the Department of Human Services and did consulting and arson investigations for private insurance companies.
Major Tudor is survived by his wife of 26 years, Betty Tudor, of Scranton, AR and former wife, Geraldine Batchelor Tudor of Little Rock, AR; son, Bill Tudor and wife, Kristine, of Issaquah, Washington; a brother, Jerry Tudor and wife, Carolyn, of Rudy, AR. He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Joe Tudor of Van Buren, AR; and his son, former retired State Police Lieutenant Jim Tudor. He is survived by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His grandchildren are Christy Floyd and her son, Bailey, of Hurst, TX and Scott Tudor, a Pulaski County Deputy Sheriff, and his wife, Melanie, and their two children, Lucas and Bria Tudor, of Maumelle. He is also survived by his stepchildren and their families, Susan and Chuck Bennett of Little Rock, AR, Derrell Wood Jr. of Little Rock and Sam and Kim Wood of Scranton, AR.
He had numerous extended family members and friends whose lives were enhanced by having known and loved him.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 28, 2007, at the Hall cemetery, Natural Dam, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Arkansas Kidney Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
Muriel L. Hardgrave
Muriel Lucille Hardgrave, 88, went to be with her Lord on May 15, 2007.
She was born September 26, 1919, in Clarksville, Arkansas, and spent her life in the Sulphur Springs Community. Her parents were the late Ben and Lela Harding Hardgrave.
Miss Hardgrave is survived by one brother, Ben F. Hardgrave of Clarksville. She is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Ingram and Iva Ray, and three brothers, Robert, Haskell and Luster Hardgrave.
Muriel was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and spent much of her life caring for and about other people. She loved her family and always enjoyed spending time with them. Her favorite activities included going to hymn sings, quilting, reading, attending church and visiting with family and friends. She is going to be missed by everyone who loved her.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Union Grove Baptist Church under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Horne brought the message. Burial was at the Union Grove cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ben Alfred Hardgrave, George (Junior) Kilgore, Brent Scott, Kenny Medeiros, Leland Danny Bean, and Gary Looper.

Arnold F. Kreipke
Arnold F. Kreipke, 83, of Clarksville died Monday, May 7, 2007, at his home.
A native of Lutherville, he was a son of the late William Fredrick and Katharine (Katie) Gompf Kreipke, graduate of Lamar High School, member of Grace Lutheran Church and Johnson County Farm Bureau, farmer and cattleman, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed Kreipke and Martin Kreipke; and one sister, Lydia Hensling.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Elder Kreipke; two stepdaughters, Barbara Goodin and husband, Jimmy, of Clarksville and Deborah Lou Babbitt and husband, Jim, of Kansas City, Mo.; one stepson, Tom Jennings and wife, Judy, of Kansas City, Mo.; three sisters, Irene Tanner of Wichita, Kan., Clara Blackwell of Clarksville, and Dora Smith of Los Angeles, Calif.; eight step grandchildren, Toby Jennings, Christopher Jennings, Justin Babbitt, Jared Babbitt, Sherry Clayborn, Lisa Basham, Randall Goodin, and Kelly Bridges; seven step great-grandchildren, Matthew Ryan Babbitt, Steffanie Barto, Eric Basham, Sean Basham, Joe Basham, Kirstie Bridges, and Trey Bridges; and four step great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Herbert Swanson officiating.
Burial will be in New Mulberry cemetery at Mulberry under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Toby Jennings, Christopher Jennings, Justin Babbitt, Jared Babbitt, Jim Babbitt, and Leo Knoernschild.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 11, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Charity Wilkins
Charity Wilkins, 57, of Clarksville died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at her home.
A native of Dallas, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Aberlee Anderson and had been a hair stylist in Clarksville for the past 30 years.
She is survived by two stepdaughters.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Diane Kremers
Diane Kremers, 61, of Paris, mother of Darla Anderson of Clarksville, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, in Fort Smith.
She was a daughter of the late Leonard Koch; widow of William D. Kremers; and was preceded in death by one brother, David Koch.
Other survivors include one son, Denny Kremers of Paris; mother, Eula Mae Koch of Paris; one brother, Tommy Koch of Paris; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial in Baxley cemetery at Paris.
Pallbearers were Dallas Anderson, Joseph Theis, Adam Keith, Stephen Warren, Brian Friemal, and Nathan Redding.
