Jerry Lee Ward

Jerry Lee Ward, 64, of Clarksville died Saturday, April 7, 2007, at his home.
He was born in Pinkneyville, Ill., graduated from Pinkneyville High School and Murry State College in Kentucky, Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Purple Heart recipient, retired truck driver, and was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Ward; and one son, Jordan Ward.
He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Orme and husband, Jason, of Oahu, Hawaii; one son, Jason Ward and wife, Sarah, of Peoria, Ill.; mother, Mabel Ward of Odin, Ill.; two sisters, Janet Broombaugh and husband, Gene, of Carbondale, Ill., and Julia Ward of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Jacob and Jennah Ward of Peoria, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be in Illinois. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Laura Belle Bock

Laura Belle Bock, 89, of Clarksville died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
A native of Charlotte, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late George Donald and Mary Viola Underhill Binkley, widow of Joseph T. Bock, graduate of Clarksville High School, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen Jaggers and husband, Keith, of Ozark; and one grandchild, Shane Jaggers of Ozark.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, at Holy Redeemer Catholic cemetery with Rev. Troy Ellison officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Lucille S. Hunt

Laura Lucille Stewart Hunt, 94, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Clarksville, died Friday, April 6, 2007.
A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late James Monroe and Dona Stewart, widow of Elbert Conley Hunt, and a former resident of Sulphur Springs but had resided in Arlington, Texas, since 1952. She was involved in retail sales with her late husband, a service station owner/operator, member of the First United Methodist Church in Arlington, Texas, and the Wesley Progressors Sunday School Class, and during her children's education she was active in various parent-teacher associations and room mother several times. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Carolyn Hunt and Joan Ella Hunt Carroll; one unnamed son; and five brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son, Jerry E. Hunt of Arlington, Texas; one son-in-law, Don Mac Carroll of Arlington, Texas; two granddaughters, Candace Joy Carroll of New York City, N. Y., and Brittany Lauren Carroll of Lewisville, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 10 a. m. Wednesday, April 11, at Arlington Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Moore Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 313 N. Center Street, Arlington, Texas, 76011, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Charles E. Robinson

Charles E. (Charlie) Robinson, 61, of Gardner, Kan., died March 8, 2007, at University of Kansas Medical Center.
He was a native of Lutherville, truck driver, served in the Vietnam War where he earned a Purple Heart and received a bronze star, member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, and former resident of Hutchinson, Kan., where he was a deputy sheriff. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Survivors are his wife, Donna Robinson; four children, Tina Allen and Troy Robinson, both of Gardner, Kan., Regina Zimmer of Texas, and Angela Espinosia of New Mexico; four stepchildren and spouses, Ty Schmuhl of Gardner, Kan., Ryan Schmuhl of Spring Hill, Kan., and Mauriah Schmuhl and Justin Schmuhl, both of Olathe, Kan.; one sister, Leona Smith of Hutchinson, Kan.; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at Indian Creek Community Church in Olathe, Kan., with burial at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home of Olathe, Kan.

Dala Peeples

Dala Peeples, 91, of Fayetteville, formerly of Johnson County, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Washington Regional Medical Center.
A native of Silax, she was a daughter of the late Forbin and Lena Dale Karstetter, widow of Heartsill Peeples, member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, former employee of Wal-Mart having retired in 1982, after 25 years of service, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Don Karstetter; and three sisters, Edra Dobbs, Nelda Lee Williams and Willa Faye Williams.
Survivors include one son, Gerald Ray Peeples and wife, Susan, of North Little Rock; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Peeples and wife, Debby, of Bowling Green, Ky., and Lisa Collier and husband, Mike, of Collierville, Tenn.; and four great-grandchildren, Madisyn Peeples and Zack, Tyler and Oliva Collier.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob Bailey officiating.
Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Moore's Chapel.

Earman R. Sain

Earman R. Sain, 78, of Harrison, father of Valerie Y. Wheeler of Ozone, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at his home.
He was a native of Newton County, son of the late Joseph Houston and Millie Augusta Reddell Sain, member of Elmwood Baptist Church, former resident of Cowell, served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and finished his tour of service while living in Colorado Springs, Colo., former resident of E. St. Louis, Ill., where he was employed by Wabash Railroad for 17 years prior to returning to Arkansas where he began a career as a carpenter. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lorene Sain; one son, Keith Edward Sain of Harrison; two other daughters, Debbie S. Mapes and Lisa M. Scheuter, both of Harrison; one brother, Frank Sain of Cabool, Mo.; one sister , Niva Faught of Deer; six grandchildren, Elizabeth D. Alcantara, David Wheeler, Rebecca L. Force, Cheryl Scheuter, Nikki L. Scheuter and Eric T. Sain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper with Glendon Garrison officiating assisted by Jim Bryant. Burial will be at Cowell cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Sain, Dennis Sain, Ronnie Faught, Rick Adams, Jeff Adams and Brian Force.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

Elizabeth Fink

Elizabeth Fink, 77, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
She was a native of Hrastovac, Yugoslavia, daughter of the late Johann and Anna Lickel, former resident of Wisconsin, and a member of the First Assembly of God Church at Dover,
Among the survivors are her husband, John Fink; one sister, Kristine Bierer of Austria; one niece, Erika Ritter of Milwaukee, Wis., three nephews, Konrad Lickel of Dover, Peter Lickel of Colgate, Wis., and William Lickel of West Bend, Wis.
Funeral was Friday, March 16, at Humphrey Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Jerry Patton officiating. Burial was in McFadden cemetery at Dover.

Gladys C. Ransom

Gladys Crowley Ransom, 93, of Port Angeles, Wash., died Sunday, March 18, 2007, in Port Angeles, Wash.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late William M. and Florence Bertha Peters Crowley, widow of Frank A. (Sport) Ransom, graduate of Clarksville High School, member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville, long-time employee of the Fair Store in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by four sisters, Hattie Crowley Dobbs, Irma Florence Crowley, Anna Crowley Newton and Jewel Crowley Fisher; and six brothers, Rowen, Chester, Herbert, Valter, Franklin and William Crowley.
Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. (Christene Standen) Ransom Jr. of Port Angeles, Wash.; one granddaughter, Kimberly Ransom Greene and husband, Allen L., of Spring, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Caroline E. Greene and Blake A. Greene, both of Spring, Texas.
The body was cremated.
A graveside service and burial of the cremains will be held at a later date at Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 535, Clarksville, AR 72830.
