Donna M. Frost

Donna M. Gates Frost, 65, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at Clarksville.
She was a daughter of the late John Otis and Ruth Holmes Weir, member of the First United Methodist Church, loved to collect frogs, and was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Fritz Weir.
Survivors include her husband, Wiley Frost; two daughters, Debbie Neal and husband, Andy, of Russellville and Deloros Meinders of Des Moines, Iowa; one son, Brian Gates of Clarksville; three stepchildren, Roger Frost of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Joan Frost Earnhart of Prattsville, Wis., and John Frost of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Ashley White of Russellville, Justin Range of Bella Vista, and Brandon Meinders of Texas; five step-grandchildren; and two dogs, Maggie and Bear.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Criss officiating.
Burial was in Mount Airy cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Glen Hubbard, Josh Hubbard, Leon Thomasson, Robert Frost, Dr. Mike Hillis, and Charles Bruchman.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Friendship Sunday School Class, Joe Talley and Varnel King.
Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Ottis C. Hampton

Ottis Cole Hampton, 90, of Lamar died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
A native of Lehigh, Okla., he was a son of the late Boswell and Mary Hornbuckle Hampton, graduate of Lehigh (Oklahoma) High School, retired plywood mill employee, and was preceded in death by one son, James Boswell Hampton.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Southard Hampton; one daughter, Carolyn Adams of Stratford, Okla.; two sons, Lawrence Hampton of Eufaula, Okla., and William (Bill) Hampton of Erick, Okla.; one stepson, Don Walters of Oak Ridge, Ore.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Virginia Bachman

Virginia Bachman, 59, of Lamar died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, in Russellville.
She was a daughter of the late William and Minnie McJenkin Andrews, professor of accounting at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, and was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Andrews.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Bachman; and one son, William Peter Bachman of Lamar.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. The body was cremated.
Memorials may be made to the Johnson County 4-H Scholarship Fund or the Arkansas Tech University Accounting Scholarship Fund.

Joe Sugg

Joe Sugg, 54, of Coal Hill died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, in Fort Smith.
He was a native of Hot Springs, son of the late Thomas Edward and Betty Carter Sugg, lock operator with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, and a member of First Baptist Church in Ozark.
He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Craft of Vesta and Meagon Jones of North Little Rock; one brother, Jack Sugg of Fort Smith; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Ted Darling officiating.

W. Ragon Thompson

W. Ragon Thompson, M. D., a true southern gentleman, gardener, skier, and world traveler died on January 26, 2007, at the age of 71 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. He was born on September 8, 1935, in Clarksville, Arkansas, to Anna Augusta Ragon Thompson and Roger Leon (Buster) Thompson. His parents, his sister, Luanne Thompson, and his sister-in-law, Jan Thompson, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his brother, Byron Alfred Thompson, and niece, Anna Beth Thompson of Springdale, Arkansas, his aunt, Mary Johnson of Clarksville, Arkansas, his cousins, Kay Nevins of Searcy, Arkansas, Rosemary Dyke of Little Rock, Arkansas, Lee Ragon of Denver, Colorado, his foster daughter, Madonna Stewart and her brothers and sisters and their families.
At the age of 17 Dr. Thompson entered the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville. Upon earning his undergraduate degree in 1956 he went on to medical school at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. After graduation from medical school he came to Albuquerque where he did an internship at the University of New Mexico Medical School. He completed a residency in 1968 at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock in Obstetrics and Gynecology, which became his specialty for the rest of his medical career. He served in the United States Air Force as a Captain from 1963 to 1965. In 1968 he returned to Albuquerque where he worked at Lovelace Clinic and in 1977 he entered private practice with his friend and colleague Scott Taylor M. D. until he retired from medicine in 1986. He then moved to Ouray, Colorado where he owned two art galleries and became an excellent picture framer. In 2002 he returned to Albuquerque so he could be surrounded by loving friends who would help him through his final journey.
Memorial service will be at the First Presbyterian Church, Clarksville, Arkansas at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 10. Burial will be at Oakland cemetery, Clarksville. Arrangements by Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Ronald D. Tomasich

Ronald Douglas Tomasich, 59, of Harrison, son-in-law of Cecil Hudson of Clarksville, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at UAMS in Little Rock.
A son of the late Henry Albert and Joyce Virginia Crouse Tomasich, he was a native of Hollywood, Calif., Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a medic and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts, three Bronze Service Stars and Oak Leaf Cluster for valor, former resident of Russellville, Methodist, retired Social Security Administration supervisor, volunteer coach for Jasper School, member of the Jasper Booster Club, assisted with the summer baseball program at Jasper, and was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Genevieve Hudson of Clarksville.
Other survivors include his wife, Cecilia Diane Hudson Tomasich; one brother, Kenneth Ray Tomasich and wife, Dixie (Fowler), of Boxley; one sister-in-law, Peggy Rills and husband, Dr. Barry Rills of Baton Rouge, La.; two nephews, Kenny Fowler Tomasich of Boxley and Jonathan D. Rills of Baton Rouge, La.; and one niece, Sarah K. Rills of Baton Rouge, La.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Jasper High School gymnasium with Rev. Stephen Davis officiating and Senator Randy Laverty assisting.
Burial was at the Jasper cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.
Memorials may be made to the Jasper Booster Club, P. O. Box 446, Jasper, AR 72641.

Gracie Martin

Gracie Martin, 86, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
A former resident of Shawnee, Kan., she was a daughter of the late Robert and Sara Ponder Sams, widow of Grover Martin, and was preceded in death by two sons, Marvin Martin and Robert Bradford Martin.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen Fanning of Shawnee, Kan., Wilmalee Plummer of Lamar, and Joann Dusenberry of Louisburg, Kan.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home Chapel in Bonner Springs, Kan., with burial in Bonner Springs cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
