Raymond Pug Lovell

Raymond Pug Lovell, 84, of Clarksville died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Clarksville.

He was a retired Terminix technician, member of Full Gospel Temple Church in Ozark where he was a lifetime trustee, U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a Prisoner of War, recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, 32nd degree Mason, member of Ozark Lodge No. 79 and Scottish Rite; former justice of the peace, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Lena Adams Lovell; and one daughter, Wilma Ray Lovell.

Survivors include his wife, Gearldine Patrick Lovell of Clarksville; two daughters, Rhonda Schmalz and husband, Mike, of Paris and Reba Newton and husband, Sam, of Maumelle; three grandchildren, Alica Mathews, Travis and wife, Mindy Ragsdale and Candace Ragsdale; two honorary grandchildren, Carmie McChristian and Jason Parrish; and three great-grandchildren, Deacon Mathews, Samantha Mathews, and Reign Ragsdale.

Funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Ozark Full Gospel Temple Church with burial at Mt. View cemetery at Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Pallbearers were Dewight Stepp, J. C. Parrish, Alvin Warden, Tommy Adams, Ronnie Adams, and Bobby Adams.

Honorary pallbearers were Darrell McMillan, Paul Williams, Leroy Stacy, Billy Don McCartney, and Jackie Young.

Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark.

Chris Vaught

Chris Vaught, 74, of Clarksville died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at her home.

She was a native of Fraleigh, daughter of the late Claud Virgil and Gertrude Karr Yates, member of Second Baptist Church in Clarksville, graduate of Oark High School, and was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Yates; and three brothers, Audrey, Arlie and an infant.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald Dale Vaught; one daughter, Debbie Bradley of Clarksville; one son, Gerald (Jerry) Vaught of Clarksville; two sisters, Geri Ballard of Dallas, Texas, and Carol B. Smith of Magazine; two brothers, Reece Yates and Duane Yates, both of Clarksville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Second Baptist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Tom Dicus officiating.

Burial was in Yale cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Ronnie Ashley, Pat Blackard, Mark Fulmer, Matt Howard, Herbert Rideout, and Raymond Holt.

Honorary pallbearers were Charles Morris, Jason Bradley, Jared Bradley, and Kirby Yates.

Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church, 709 Oak Street, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Crystal Hudson

Crystal Hudson, 87, of Clarksville died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at Clarksville Health and Rehab.

She was the widow of Norman Hudson.

Survivors include one son, Danny Hudson and wife, Vonda, of Charleston; one brother, Roland Dobbs and wife, Joyce, of Spadra; three grandchildren, Sean Hudson, Joshua Hudson and Matthew Hudson, all of Charleston; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Oakland cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Daryl G. Davis

Daryl G. Davis, 36, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, in Phoenix, Ariz.

Survivors include his father, Ronald Davis of Phoenix, Ariz.; mother, Linda Remick of Clarksville; grandmother, Leola Martinez of Clarksville; five sisters, Cindy, Verna, Trudy, Jennifer and Sarah, all of Clarksville; five nieces; two nephews; five aunts; and three uncles.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at Second Baptist Church in Clarksville.

Jimmy Segraves

Jimmy Segraves, 70, of Jasper died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at his home.

He was a native of Cherry Valley, son of the late Claude and Louise Norman Segraves, former employee of Flex Steel of Harrison, farmer, and member of the Teamsters and the Jasper Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Segraves, Eugene Segraves, and Billy Segraves; one sister, Marjie Cooper; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Vaughn; and one granddaughter-in-law, Katrina Segraves.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dean Segraves; one son, W. C. Segraves of Clarksville; two daughters, Janice Vaughn and Kay Segraves, both of Clarksville; three brothers, David Segraves, Lanny Segraves and Ike Segraves, all of Kalma, Wash.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Phil Powers officiating. Burial will follow at Jasper cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Henderson, Michael Henderson, Tim Snyder, Ryan Rathje, Jeremy Rathje, Eddie Murphy, and Leslie Murphy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Segraves, Jason Vaughn, Daniel Vaughn, and Billy Vaughn.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.

Meridith Avo Hinson

Meridith Avo Hinson, 91, died peacefully in her sleep, Thursday, December 18, 2008, at Clarksville Convalescent Home. The daughter of the late Jesse Lee Newton and Eva Underwood Newton, she was active for many years at First Baptist Church in Clarksville, the hospital auxiliary, and in her later years the "oldest mother" at Cabin Creek Church, Lamar.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Orland E. Hinson; by a sister, Catherine Louise Lewis, and a brother, Lee Mervin Newton, all of Clarksville.

Survivors include her daughter, Jean Hinson Murray and husband, Gerald, of Tucson, AZ; sister-in-law, Beth Newton of Clarksville; and various nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be at Roller-Cox Funeral Home on Friday evening, December 26th, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 27th, at the Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Gary Blair officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville.

Pallbearers: Don Leeds, Gene Leeds, David Newton, Doug Newton, Dale Meek, and Kent Lewis.

Honorary pallbearers: Buddy Smith, Steve DeYoung, and Gary Upton.

Memorials to: Cabin Creek Baptist Church, Highway 64 West, P. O. Box 315, Lamar, AR 72846.

Nathan L. Lewis

Nathan Lloyd Lewis, 75, of Knoxville died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at his home.

He was a native of Hatton, Alaska, son of the late George and May Sloan Lewis, graduate of Hatton High School, Korean War veteran, and retired mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Lewis; one daughter, Kathy Wall of South Gate, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Crystal Deatherage of Knoxville; two sisters, Ivah Edwards of Yelm, Wash., and Emma Lay of Vandervoort; three brothers, Fred Lewis of Chicago, Ill., Ben Lewis of Roy, Wash., and Edward Lewis of Woodinville, Wash.; one grandchild, Kristin Wall of South Gate, Calif.; and two step grandchildren, Austin and Hannah Deatherage of Knoxville.

The body was cremated.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
