Eddie D. Cook

Eddie D. Cook, 85, of Hagarville died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a retired counselor-teacher, native of Dotson, La., daughter of the late G. C. and Ida Seay Richards, widow of Wayne Cook, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilmouth Lowrey and Ruth Faulkner; and two brothers, Roy Richards and G. C. Richards.

She is survived by one daughter, Nan C. Loyd of Hagarville; one son, Thomas Cook of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two brothers, Charles Richards of Oklahoma and Bill Richards of Denver, Colo.; and five grandchildren, Josh Loyd of Russellville, and Andrea Cook, Lainey Cook, Mike Cook, and James Cook, all of Oklahoma.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, at the Hagarville cemetery with Leland W. Loyd officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Foster Joe Wright

Foster Joe Wright, 68, of Booneville died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Booneville Community Hospital.

He was a native of Tishamingo, Okla., son of the late Herman Foster and Alta Louise Scarberry Wright, retired machinist, and member of the First United Methodist Church in Booneville.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Dean Wright; one daughter, Beth Whipkey of Booneville; one son, Michael Wright of Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Glenda Wright, Janet Bridges and Kay Tumbleson, all of Clarksville; one brother, Burl Wright of Rowlett, Texas; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Cauthorn cemetery in Booneville with Rev. Ben Anderson officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

The body was cremated.

Freddie Ray Rainey

Freddie Ray Rainey, 71, of Knoxville died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Casa, son of the late Laura Brookshear Rainey, graduate of Lamar High School, member of First Baptist Church at Knoxville, retired construction employee, and was preceded in death by his wife, Maedean Callahan Rainey.

He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia McGuire of Pettigrew, Glenna Cowell of Lamar, and Elizabeth Shinaver of Clarksville; two sons, Fredrick Rainey of Fordyce and Nathan Rainey of Coal Hill; father, Glenn Rainey of Knoxville; four sisters, Betty Spears, Sue Bryan, Linda Akins, and Glenda Siber; two brothers, James Rainey and Robert Rainey, both of Knoxville; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 6, at the Knoxville Community Building with Rev. Roland Spears officiating.

Burial was in Knoxville cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

James C. Mitchell

James C. (Jim) Mitchell, 72, of Ozone died Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Little Rock.

A native of Mineral Springs, he was a son of the late Arthur Lewis and Eunice Delphi Dickerson Mitchell, and was preceded in death by four sisters, Burley Mitchell, Alta Self, Ina Faye Forbus, and Delphine Miner; and one brother, Gerald Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Wine Mitchell; five daughters, Debbie Tripp and husband, John, and Terry Hatcher and husband, Wayne, all of Clarksville, Susan Wagler and husband, Harry, of Citrus Heights, Calif., Melanie Breedlove and husband, Ricky, of Valley Springs, and Carrie Brandt and husband, Richard, of Greenwood; one sister, Lorene Stacy of Ozark; one brother, Gayle Mitchell of Ozark; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery at Batson.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Boese, Gordon Reese, Paul Acord, Don Vaught, Ralph Davis, Bill Caldwell, Jim Martin, and James Hobbs.

Joseph Robert Kondrick

Joseph Robert Kondrick, 65, of Batson died Friday, March 7, 2009, at his home in Batson, Arkansas. He retired from the U. S. Army National Guard as Master Sgt. Kondrick after 24 years of combined service including six years with the U. S. Navy. He recently retired from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette where he worked in sales and circulation. Prior to that he taught fifth-sixth grades at the Oark Public School from 1983 to 1989. Joseph is the son of the late Joseph E. and Elizabeth Kochan Kondrick.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Bushdiecker Kondrick; his daughter, Melissa Katherine Brian and husband, Bruce, of Clarksville, Arkansas; granddaughter, Elizabeth Brian of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, Arlene Klotz and husband, Rich, of Deer Park, Washington and Kris Gathman and husband, Reg, of Edgewood, New Mexico; mother-in-law, Catherine Bushdiecker of St. Charles, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Bushdiecker of St. Charles, Missouri, and Tom Bushdiecker and wife, Martha, of Ozone, Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Debra Wade of Mexico, Missouri, and Barbara Hicks and husband, Eddie, of Edina, Missouri; six nieces and seven nephews who called him "Uncle Joe."

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home, Clarksville, Arkansas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Hedgeway Church, Clarksville, Arkansas with Reverend Don Alexander and Reverend Jonathan Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Sherrellville cemetery near Batson, Arkansas.

Pallbearers: Bruce Brian, Ronnie Sherrell, Tom Bushdiecker, Ken Bushdiecker, Willie Pitts, and Allan Newsham.

Honorary pallbearers: Jonathan Payne, Shelby Shook, Soren Louvering, Carroll Sherrell.

Marcus S. Angelo Sr.

Marcus S. Angelo Sr., 89, of Lamar died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at his home.

He was a native of Port Eads, La., son of the late Edward and Antoinette Kinkella Angelo, World War II Navy veteran, retired sea captain, 32nd degree Mason, member of the Woodmen of the World, and was preceded in death by one son, Mickey Boudreaux.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Aguilar Angelo; six daughters, Joan Angelo of Mississippi, Marsha Angelo of Louisiana, Judy Boudreaux of Spring, Texas, Debe Edwards of Clarksville, Joy Wise of Lamar and Renee Adams of Riverview, Fla.; four sons, Marcus Angelo Jr. of Florida, Thomas Boudreaux of Terrytown, La., Dean Blank of Madisonville, La., and Michael Blank of Clarksville; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be in Louisiana at a later date. Entombment will be in the Westlawn Mausoleum in Gretna, La.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Rabin Vire

Rabin Vire, 66, of Clarksville died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Oark, son of the late Randolph Vire, Baptist, retired telephone company service technician, and was preceded in death by one brother, Alton Vire.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Joyce Teague Vire; one daughter, Debbie Ault and husband, James, of Royal; one son, Randy Vire and wife, Cindy, of Clarksville; mother, Beulah Hodge Vire of Clarksville; two brothers, Clyde Vire of Clarksville and Ricky Vire of Corpus Christi, Texas; and five grandchildren, Layne Catherine Smith and Amie Joyce Smith, both of Russellville, Dustin Lee Vire and Chance Robert Vire, both of Clarksville, and Cody James of Monticello.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger and Father William Wewers officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Jeff Mize, Leon Ault, Tom Schluterman, Rick Harmon, John Mark Vire, Brian Vire, and Cody James.

Honorary pallbearers were James Dale Price, Ronald Warren, Jim Reeves, David Melson, Harold Zimmer, Steve Harmon, Aubrey Thomas, Guy Watson, Glen Ray Daniels, Larry Teague, Ray Wakefield, and Ray Hammond.

Rita Raye Moore

Rita Raye Moore, 57, of Clarksville died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Altus, daughter of the late William and Nellie Roland Campbell, graduate of Hartman High School, member of Hunt Tabernacle Church, and was preceded in death by one brother, Thurman Campbell; and one sister, Betty Campbell.

Survivors include one son, Brian Holloway of Clarksville; four sisters, Joann Williams of Fort Smith, Gladys Brown of Clarksville, Billy Jean Campbell of Lamar, and Ruby Bowles of Howe, Okla.; two brothers, Jesse Campbell of Clarksville and Jimmy Campbell of Lamar; and numerous step grandchildren.

Memorial graveside services and burial were at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at the Porter cemetery with Rev. Leo Villines officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
