James Nabors

James “Jim” Leonard Nabors, age 47, of Cabot, died Sept. 21, 2002.

He is survived by his wife Vicky Nabors; three sons, David Nabors of Ward, James Nabors, Jr. of Cabot, and Lucas Anderson of Ward; one sister, Maxine Messick of Alexander; his mother, Dorothy McGhee; four brothers, Charles of Malvern, John of Hensley, Donald of Alexander, and Ronald of Bauxite; and two grandchildren, Cody and Justin Nabors.

Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002 at noon at Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in North Little Rock.

Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.

Clayton Harkey

Clayton Harkey, an 11-month old from Cabot, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 24, 2002, at the hospital. The funeral will be held at the Cabot Funeral Home, but a time and date have not yet been set. Those wishing to attend the service may contact his grandmother, Sheila Grinstead, at 843-5670.

Harkey was the subject of a story in the Aug. 28 issue of the Cabot Star-Herald. In the story, doctors at Arkansas Children’s Hospital referred to him as the miracle child for being able to survive an infection that may have been caused by bacterial meningitis.

His grandmother said his death may have been caused by the same kind of infection as before. He was rushed to the hospital Tuesday morning, but doctors were unable to help him. Family members and doctors said his death was very unexpected.

Wesley Louis Kittler
Wesley Louis Kittler, 85, of Carlisle, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002.

He was a retired farmer, a former Lonoke County Justice of the Peace, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Kittler; one son, Donald Kittler of Carlisle; four daughters, Phyllis Love of Tennessee, Carol Sumner of Oklahoma, Kaye Stock and Terry Petrus both of Hazen; and step-daughter, Glenda Barnes of Lonoke; two brothers, Robert Kittler of Perryville and W.H. Kittler of Carlisle; two sisters, Louise Hardke of Memphis and Rozanne Bell of Hickory Plains; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Laverne Kittler; and a grandson.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at 2:30 at Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Hazen. Interment was in the Carlisle cemetery.

Visitation was held Saturday at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen.

Betty Mae Trimm
Betty Mae Trimm, 64, died Feb. 17, 2002.

She is survived by her husband, Elbert Trimm; children, David Conley of Michigan, Robert Craig, Charles Craig and Roberta Chance, all of Carlisle, and Leslie Craig of Coy; a brother, Eddie Sanders of Alabama; sisters, Marie Smith of Jacksonville, Virginia Edwards of Lonoke, Addie Hubbard of Alabama, and Charlene Madden of California; and four grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lonoke cemetery. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

Arba Bly
Arba Mernell White Bly, 72, of Quitman died Feb. 13, 2002.

She was a retired school teacher.

Survivors include three sons, Kevin Bly of Cabot, Rande Bly of Jacksonville, and Larry Bly of Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers, Marvin White and Walter White; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Feb. 23, at the Faith Baptist Church at Quitman. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home Inc. of Heber Springs.

Charles H. Eagle
Charles H. Eagle, 71, of North Little Rock died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002.

He was a member of Sheet Metal Union, Local 36 for 41 years.

Survivors include his wife, Marlue Eagle; son, Bobby Eagle of North Little Rock; daughter, Sandra Kirspel of Buford, Ga.; five grandchildren; and sister, Mary Francis Liles of Lonoke.

Funeral services were held at the North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial was in the Hicks cemetery.

Carl Walter Felton
Carl Walter Felton, age 92, died Feb. 12, 2002.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Felton.
Survivors include his daughter, Debra Givens of Carlisle; one granddaughter, Jennifer McKinney of Bergman; a grandson, Kyle Spraberry of Pine Bluff; one great-granddaughter, Raleigh McKinney of Bergman; and one brother, A. G. Felton of Lonoke.

Services were held at Boyd Chapel with interment in Concord cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

Kathleen Renio
Kathleen LaVerne Renio, 73, of Las Vegas, Nev., died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002.

She was a retired restaurant manager.

Survivors are her husband, Larry; six daughters; six sons; 43 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Feb. 16 at Austin Station Baptist Church, Austin.

Mollie Crosby
Mollie Elliott Crosby, 84, of Bald Knob died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002.

She was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Bald Knob.

Surviving are her husband, Woodrow Crosby; a daughter, Pearlene Randal of Bald Knob; two sisters, Linda Norris of Bald Knob and Lula McKamey of Cabot; two brothers, James Cooley of Bald Knob and Russell Edwards of Little Rock; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at the First Baptist Church with burial in Shady Grove cemetery. Arrangements by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia.

Carl A. Aldridge
Carl A. Aldridge, 83, of Winchester, died Feb. 15, 2002.

He was a member of Tillar First Baptist Church, a farmer and a veteran.

Survivors are two brothers, and a sister.

Services were held at Tillar First Baptist Church with graveside services at Hicks cemetery, Lonoke. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Home.

Belva Howser
Belva Howser, 72, of Little Rock died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002.

She was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Chris L. Howser of North Little Rock, and Jessica and McKenzie Howser of Maumelle, Jim and Renee Howser and Matt, Jacqueline and Brian, all of Cabot; and a brother, James Morris of LaMarque, Texas.

A gathering in remembrance of Mrs. Howser was held Feb. 18, at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. Interment was in Pinecrest cemetery.
