Tolbert G. Balding
Tolbert G. Balding, age 97, of Ward, died Sunday, April 24, 2005. He was a retired farmer and worked at the Ward Co-op. He was a member of the Beebe Church of Christ.

He is survived by four sons, Gerald Balding of Michigan, George Balding, Mack Balding and Carrol Balding, all of Ward; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Family received friends Tuesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral was Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Apple Hill cemetery.

Emily Grace Carson
Emily Grace Carson – Curry, infant daughter of Stephanie Carson and John Curry of Cabot, died April 19, 2005 at Springhill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock.

She is survived by her parents, two brothers, Trevor Lee Banks and Ryan Murdock; grandparents, William and Joyce Curry and Ricky and Terry Carson; great-grandparents, Bill and Ruby Lyon and Bobby and Joyce Thornton.

Graveside services were Saturday at King cemetery. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home.

Theodore Snellenberger
Theodore Snellenberger, age 70, of Cabot, died Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Arkansas Hospice, Fort Roots. He was a retired police officer, owner/operator of Corral CB Center and past president of the Moose Lodge in Cahokia, Ill.

He is survived by his daughter, Patsy Halverson of Cabot; three brothers, Don and Richard Snellenberger both of Illinois and Jim Snellenberger of Indiana; sister-in-law Mildred Hasty of Beebe; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lenny Brewer officiating.

Dorothy L. Wilson
Dorothy Louise Wilson, age 70, died April 20, 2005. She is survived by her children, James Harrison and Steve Harrison of Lonoke, Randy Harrison of England, and Theresa Nobett of North Little Rock; sisters and brothers, Betty Dorsey of England, Jewel Miller and Barbara Hill of Lonoke, Caroll Houser and Judy Hocutt of North Little Rock, Pat Duncan of Cabot and Regina Cox of California; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services were Friday at Lonoke cemetery, arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.

Anna S. Hawkins
Anna Sarah Hawkins, 78, of Carlisle, died Monday, April 18, 2005.
She is survived by one son, Gerry Lawman of DeValls Bluff; one brother, John Joseph Mertens of Beebe; one sister, Ruth Brooks of Missouri; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one very special friend, Raymond Lorince of Carlisle.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at the Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Hazen. Burial was in Hazen cemetery.

Elizabeth M. Petty
Elizabeth M. Petty, 40, of Cabot died Monday.
She is survived by her husband Mark Petty, one son, Matthew Petty and one daughter Kayla Petty. A brother, Austin Stanley and a sister Shirley Gregory also survive her.

She was a graduate of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and a Field Compliance Officer for the IRS. She was a member of the National Federal Employees Union and of the Episcopal faith.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Cabot Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 3822, Little Rock, AR 72203, or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Joseph Mack Smith
Joseph Mack Smith, 51, of Little Rock died Wednesday, April 20, 2005. Smith was a native of Carlisle and the son of the late Margie Smith. He was a homebuilder and owner of Providence Homes.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Blake Smith; and two sisters, Patty and Mickey Smith, all of Little Rock.

Memorials may be made to American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, Maryland 20852.

Funeral services were April 23 at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Byron L. Tolbert II
Byron Lindsey “BT” Tolbert, II, 19, of North Little Rock died April 17, 2005.

He was a graduate of North Little Rock High School, where he was on the basketball team. He was a freshman at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, and a member of Union Valley Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Byron Sr. and Carrie Tolbert; sister, Mia Tolbert; and grandmother, Rubie Washington of Lonoke.

Funeral services were held April 23, at Pilgrim Progress Baptist Church, in North Little Rock.

Betty Ruth Phillips
Betty Ruth Phillips, 66, of Ward, died April 18, 2005.
She is survived by children, Wendell Phillips and Devona Caples.
Funeral services were held April 21, at Ward Methodist Church with burial in Old Austin cemetery.

Maebell C. Johnson
Maebell Coleman Johnson, 91, formerly of West Memphis, died April 19, 2005. She was retired from Spotts Drugstore.

She is survived by her daugther, Eunice Johnson Dickson of Camden; and son, Thomas Eugene Johnson of Cabot; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on April 22 at the Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel in West Memphis. Interment was at the Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.

Emmett C. Reeves
Emmett Clayton Reeves, of Jacksonville, died on April 23, 2005. For several summers before his 1949 graduation from Lonoke High School, he worked in the construction industry with his father. He attended Bethel Chapel, Indian Hills Baptist Church and MacArthur Assembly of God Church.

Surviving him are his wife of 38 years JoAnn Treat MacDonald Reeves; children, Leta Haggard of Gravel Ridge, Bonita Rownd of Jacksonville, Vicki Reeves of Jacksonville, and David Reeves of Gravel Ridge; three stepchildren; sisters, Marcia Parker of Dallas, Texas, Patsy Bounds of San Antonio, TX, Hazel Wirt and Betty Meloon, both of North Little Rock; brothers, Dr. John R. Reeves of California, and Tommy Reeves of North Little Rock; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 27, at MacArthur Assembly of God Church. Entombment followed at Chapel Hill Mausoleum.

William Carter
William Carter, 54, of Lonoke, died April 20, 2005.
He was a member of Christian Fellowship COGIC where he served as a Deacon.

Survivors include his son, Lawrence Carter of Texas; daughter, Pearl Holmes of New York; mother, Lucy Ann Carter of Little Rock; brothers, Roy,Tony,Thurman, Donnie and John Carter; sisters, Mary Ann, Emma, Ethel, Diane and Johnnie Carter.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Christian Fellowship COGIC, 10700 Chicot Rd., Little Rock. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2005, at Will Acklin Funeral Chapel.

John C. Leonard
John Carleton Leonard, of Tyro, died April 23, 2005.
He was a retired paint contractor.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Lowry Leonard; daughters, Jackie McGough of Tyro, Judy Calhoun of Star City, Jeri of Wells Bayou; four grandchildren; brothers, Ray Leonard of Tyro, and Jim Leonard of Cabot; sisters, Barbara Williams, and Martha Clark all of Dumas.

He was a member of Anderson Chapel Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held April 26 at Anderson Chapel Baptist church. Burial was at the Tyro cemetery with Masonic Rites performed.

Memorial donations can be made to the Shrine Cripple Children’s Hospital, Anderson Chapel Baptist Church or the Tyro cemetery Association.
