Maudie Lois Allen

Maudie Lois Allen, age 92, died February 17, 2003.
She was the oldest living charter member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot.

She is survived by 2 sons, Tommy Allen and Dennis Allen both of Cabot, 5 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.

Services were 1 p.m. Friday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, with interment following at Mt. Carmel cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

Leonard David Moore

Leonard David (L.D.) Moore was born on August 16, 1953 to Mahalia Williams and the late Willie Moore. He departed this life on February 16, 2003.

He was a faithful member and Deacon of Springfield Baptist Church at England.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Mahalia Williams of England, one brother, George Moore of England, four sisters: Theresa Cole and Ida (David) Holloway of Lonoke, Rita Kimble and Joyce Williams of England and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, 1 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church with interment in Springfield cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

Forrest D. Oliver

Forrest D. “Doug” Oliver, age 67, of Cabot, died February 24 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock. He retired as Retail Advertising Manager after 32 years with the Arkansas Gazette. He later spent 12 years with J. B. Hunt Transports.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Jo Robinson Oliver of Cabot; son Mark Douglas Oliver and his wife, Rachel of Conway; grandson and granddaughter; sisters, Nora Harris of Ward and Ruth Ramirez of North Little Rock.

Graveside services will be held at Mt. Carmel cemetery Friday at 2 p.m. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.

Ronnie Eugene Bailey

Ronnie Eugene Bailey, 51, of Cabot, Arkansas, died April 5, 2003 after a long battle with lung cancer. Mr. Bailey was born May 29, 1951. He is a retired employee for the city of Cabot’s Street Department where he was employed for 26 years. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia (Jenny) Bailey; his parents, Venda Holtrop and Troy Bailey; three sisters, Neda Jane Holtrop, Ima Rose Shipman, Velma Jane Topham. He is survived by one son, Chris and his wife, D. J. Bailey; one daughter, Shannon and her husband Jim Danner; one granddaughter, Bailey Danner, all of Cabot; three sisters, Mary Johnson of Cabot, Arkansas, Burnell Henry of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Patsy Byrd of McLain, Mississippi; two half sisters, Carolyn Gunter of Erath, Louisiana, and Tena Bailey of Prattsville, Arkansas; six half brothers, Ricky Bailey of Camden, Arkansas, Benny Bailey of Plainview, Arkansas, Larry Bailey of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Gary Bailey of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Terry Bailey of Wallace, Texas and Stevie Bailey of Prattsville, Arkansas; also survived by a host of family and friends.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday at Mt. Springs Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Friends may visited at the funeral home Monday and Tuesday. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home, (501) 843-5816.

Florence Brissenden

Florence Brissenden, 91, of Cabot, passed away April 6 at Spring Creek Living Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her parents, Carl and Ida Schmidt; four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by three daughters, Gloria Fielder, Barbara Nichols and Debbie Hayes; one sister, Alice Paulsen; four grandchildren, Cindy Hammonds, Matthew Fielder, Paul Montgomery and Laura Wise; and six great-grandchildren. She was a previous member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Decatur, Illinois and was recently a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Jacksonville.

Funeral services and interment will be in Decatur, Illinois at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home and Graceland cemetery. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home, (501) 843-5816.

Betty Jo Harris

Betty Jo Harris of Beebe, died april 5, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Johnathon, son, Kenny St John, Lonoke, daughter, Kem St John, Alabama, three grandchildren, her mother, Edna Horton, Lonoke, brother, Jimmy Horton, Lonoke, sisters, Joyce White, Lonoke, Jeanette Stroud, Mayflower, Janie Davis, Austin, Connie Turney, Jacksonville and Joann Sheffield, South Dakota.

Graveside services were Tuesday, Concord cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.

Michelle Potter Owens

Michelle Potter Owens, 33, of Sheridan, joined our Lord Jesus Friday, April 4, 2003. She was preceded in death by her cousin, Patrick Pisaniello and her daddy, William Turner, both of Little Rock; her uncle Steven Turner of Decatur, Ill. Michelle is survived by children Jacob Potter of Cabot, Charles and Elizabeth Owens of Alexander; her mother, Terrell Turner; sisters Jamie, Catherine, Jo, Mary, and Amber; brothers Willie and Bill Ray; her aunt and uncle, including Johnny Verger of Little Rock. Michelle is also survived by her friend and companion, Bryon Billings and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9 at 8 a.m. followed by chapel services at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at Old Austin cemetery in Austin.

Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for the family.

Wendy R. Bell Moragne

Wendy R. Bell Moragne, 35, of North Little Rock, died Friday, April 4, 2003.

She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Dan Moragne; two children, Brittany and Dan Jr.; two stepdaughters, Danielle Moragne and Cameron Bradley; her parents, Queen Ester and Tyrus Bell Sr. of Fort Smith; one sister, Sheila Branche of Jacksonville; five brothers, Tyrus Jr. of Fort Smith, Anthony and Derrick of North Little Rock, Michael and Keith of Fort Smith.

Services will be held Thursday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at the Perfecting New Life Full Gospel Baptist Church, 7104 Mabelvale Cut-off, Little Rock. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lonoke. Services entrusted to Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home.

Marion J. Newman

Marion Jaquline “Jackie’’ Newman, 63, died Sunday.

Survivors: husband, Hubert Newman; sons, Tony and Herbie Newman; daughter, Connie Johnson, all of Heber Springs; brother, Jimmy Pawlowski of Lonoke; and four grandchildren.

Memorial service was held Wednesday, Chastain Chapel, Tumbling Shoals. Arrangements: Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.

Mary Kathryn Hahn

Mary Kathryn Hahn, 81, of North Little Rock died April 1, 2003.
She was a member of Park Hill Christian Church and was employed by Peerless Engravers for 25 years, it is now called The Peerless Group of Graphic Services. She retired in 1978.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; one daughter, Janice Mobley; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; sister, Mrs. Denver “Sue” Anderson of Longview, Texas.

Memorial may be made to Park Hill Christian Church Building Fund, 4400 JFK Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 or to Healthcare Odyssey, Otter Creek Business Park, Ste. 200 at 11701 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Ark. 72209.

Funeral services were Friday at Park Hill Christian Church with burial in Edgewood Memorial Park.

Roy Dee Treadway

Roy Dee Treadway, 92, of North Little Rock died April 2, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Jackson Treadway ; two sons, Roy Delton Treadway, Harold Wayne Treadway, both of Cabot; two grandsons; step grandson; step-granddaughter; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Park Hill Christian Church Building Fund or Arkansas Hospice, 2200 Fort Roots Dr., North Little Rock, 72114.

Funeral service was Saturday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Edgewood Memorial Park.

J.D. Barnes

J. D. Barnes, 78, of Austin died Monday, March 31, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Barnes of the home; one son, Rodney Williams; one brother, Bill Barnes; two sisters, Mary Fay Williams and Sue Caple; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Wednesday, April 2 at Baugh Chapel Baptist Church by Cabot Funeral Home.
