Martha Lane
DARDANELLE - Martha “Liz” Merritt Lane, 85, of Dardanelle died icon Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at her home.
She was born icon Dec. 8, 1921, at Dardanelle to Henry C. and Nora Robinson Merritt. She was a member of Dardanelle First Baptist Church, Garden Club and Book Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Lane; and a brother, Dana Merritt.
Survivors include her daughter, Jane Litsey of Dardanelle; and two brothers, Denver Merritt of Paris and Delma Merritt of Dardanelle.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Cornwell Chapel with the Rev. Roger Glover officiating. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Mark Merritt, Chris Merritt, Dane Merritt, David Merritt, Nathan “Butch” Merritt and Sonny Breashears.
Visitation will be 6-8 tonight in the chapel.

Helen Byrd
DARDANELLE - Helen Marie Byrd, 78, of Dardanelle died icon Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at her home.
She was born icon Oct. 28, 1928, at Welch, W.Va., to Walter Bell Sr. and Gladys Welch. She was a member of Peter Creek Presbyterian Church in Phelps, Ky. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Byrd Sr.; a grandson, James Byrd III; and a brother, Walter Bell Jr.
Survivors include three sons, James “Butch” Jr. and Barbara Byrd of Dardanelle, Terry and Carol Byrd of Dardanelle, and P. Todd Byrd of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Donna Howard of Waldron; brothers, Richard Goodson of Augusta, Ga., and Tommy Goodson and Kenny Goodson of Bluefield, W.Va.; sisters, Evelyn Kinser of Pulaski, Va., and Joanne Irick of Hampton, Va.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Cornwell Chapel with the Rev. Jared Higginbotham officiating. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Buddy Wigley
DANVILLE - Buddy Wigley, 78, of Ola died icon Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Chambers Memorial Hospital.
He was born icon July 6, 1929, in Waltreak to Oscar and Mary Martin Wigley. He loved to fish, eat squirrel, work on lawnmowers, play the fiddle and listen to bluegrass music. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and seven sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Frances Long Wigley; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Oakland Cemetery icon in Ola. Cremation arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.

Lucile Price
Lucile Price, 93, of London, died icon Thursday, August 16, 2007, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
Sena Lucile was born icon Aug. 22, 1913, at London, Ark., to William Henry and Mina Victoria Hon Becker. Lucile was a member of the West Side Church of Christ. She loved babysitting her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as working in her yard and gardening. For the past two years, Lucile has lived in Stella Manor Nursing Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Burris Price; two brothers, Henry Becker and Dwain Becker; a sister, Nadine Dale; and a grandson, Jim Price.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Darwin and Glennette Price of London and Larry Gwyn and Nancy Price of Jacksonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Jerry Smith of Monticello; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Ruth Ellen Becker of Russellville; four grandsons and their spouses, Randy and Olga Price of Kokomo, Ind., Tad and Brenda Price of Jacksonville, Jerry and Stephanie Price of Cabot, and Dr. J. Scott and Celena Smith of Searcy; three granddaughters and their spouses, Joni and Mike Kozak of London, Marilee Rodefer of Jacksonville, and Tracy and David Roberts of Southlake, Texas; six great-grandsons David Price of Kokomo, Ind., Trent Roberts, Turner Roberts and Connor Whitted of London, Trey Price of Jacksonville and Jackson Price of Cabot; seven great-granddaughters, Kaylan Whitted, Lisa Goodman, Mikki Rodefer, Tori Roberts, Sydney Smith, Gentry Smith and Jaclyn Price; and three great-great-grandchildren, Bailey Jackson, Wyatt Jackson, and Tristen Seiter.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at the Shinn Chapel with Dan Lightfoot and Bruce Grice officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery icon near London under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers will be Scott Smith, Tad Price, James Lee Becker, Garland Becker, Conner Whitted and Jerry Price.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Beavers, M. D., and Randy Price.
Visitation will be open for friends and family from 2-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the West Side Church of Christ, 2300 W. C St., Russellville, Ark. 72801.

Sylvia McCuin
Sylvia McCuin passed from this life and went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007.
She was born icon November 27, 1907. “Ma Sylvia,” as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren as well as her church family and the entire Welcome Home community, lived 99 years, just missing the century mark by a couple of months. Ma’s life was centered around her family and her church. She was characterized by her generosity and giving spirit. She gave to her family - making quilts for her children and grandchildren and homemade dolls and sock monkeys for her great-grandchildren which extended to six generations. She gave to her community by taking meals to the needy, visiting the sick and serving as a mid-wife to young expectant mothers. She gave to her Lord by serving in her church as a Sunday school teacher, a youth leader and her extensive involvement in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a loving and caring mother whose family meant more to her than anything in the world. Ma will be missed in this life, but heaven will be enriched by her presence.
She is survived by a daughter, Alene Coffman and husband, Lawnie, of Searcy; a son, Donald McCuin and wife, Rose, of Stanton, Texas; a daughter, Anna Coffman and husband, Lattie, of Hector; a daughter, Louise Hubbard of Morrilton; and a son, Bill McCuin and wife, Brenda, of Plano, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Sarah Condley; her husband, Roy McCuin; a son, Harold McCuin; an infant daughter, Imogene McCuin; a grandson, Rickey Coffman; a son-in-law, Dewey Hubbard; her brothers, Horace Condley, Charlie Condley and Jessie Condley; and her sisters, Lula Coffman, Eva Frost, Ada Hill, Minnie Engle, Nora Coffman and Bessie Miller.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Randell Williams and the Rev. Arthur “Bo” Coffman officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery icon at Hector by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Pope County Hospice, 404 N. El Paso Ave., Russellville, Ark. 72801.

Mildred Coleman
Mildred Goates Coleman, 92, a resident of Scottsville, died icon Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at the Atkins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born icon Nov. 8, 1914, at Custer, Okla., to Caleb Henry and Sue Ella Wooten Warnick. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing her guitar and singing at Assemblies of God in her community and fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents; four husbands, including her first husband, Norman Floyd Goates; a brother; and three sisters.
Survivors include a son and his friend, Floyd Goates and Jewell Clayborn, both of Dover; a sister, Evelyn Meek of Exeter, Calif.; and a grandson, Bobby Goates of Dover.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2007, at Goates Cemetery icon at Scottsville with Brother Randy Wells officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Qualls, Jr., Bennie Qualls, Randy Wells, Jimmy McAlister, Warner Clemons, Rufus Wells, Tommy Goates, Tim Goates, Terry Goates and Bobby Proctor.

Lona Fleming
DANVILLE - Lona Lee Fleming, 93, of Danville died icon Friday, July 13, 2007, at Mitchell’s Nursing Home.
She was born icon Oct. 7, 1913, at Havana, Ark., to Amos Carrol and Rosie Cherry Jones. She was a mother and homemaker, and a member of Havana Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Oscar Fleming; son, Adrain Carrol Fleming; son-in-law, Douglas Wayne Clemons; and sister, Dimple Capps.
Survivors include a daughter, Clynell Clemons of Danville; a daughter-in-law, Clarinda Fleming of Charleston; sisters, Lottie Ellis of Havana and Jewell Zimmerman of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2007, at Havana Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Bobby Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Moore's Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Mark Lane, James Fleming, Mike Gray, Steve Clemons, Henry David Damon and Charlie Carpenter.
Visitation wil be 2-4 p.m. Sunday.

Lola Inman
DANVILLE - Lola Inman, 91, of Belleville died icon Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Chambers Memorial Hospital.
She was born icon Nov. 8, 1915, in the New Bethel Community to William and Mary Renfro.She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, her twin Lloyd Renfro and Cecil Renfro; sisters, Viola Claude, Bessie Pearce and Dolly Fowler; daughters-in-law, Flora Inman and Raquel Inman; and grandson, Carlos Inman.
Survivors include sons and a daughter-in-law, Wayne “Pappy” and Othalene Inman of Belleville and Kenneth Inman of Russellville; a daughter, Christine Marshall of Dardanelle; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2007, at Earl Ladd Cemetery icon with the Rev. Bill Capehart officiating. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
