Ruby Evelyn Bradshaw

Ruby Evelyn Bradshaw, age 83, resident of Dierks, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005 at her home.

She was born on Sept. 16, 1921 in the Avon Community to Henry and Stella Lowrey Moseley Miller; was a homemaker; and a member of Geneva Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Edward “Mutt” Bradshaw.

She is survived by two daughters, Pat Altenbaumber of Ashdown and Judy Krudwig of De Queen; one sister, Emma Emerson of De Queen; a foster son, Jim Bradshaw of Dallas, Tex.; seven grandchildren; four foster grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24 in Lockesburg cemetery with Rev. Wesley Blankenship officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Bobby I. McGhee

Bobby I. McGhee, age 33, resident of Gillham, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 in De Queen Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 1, 1971 at Lyons, Kan.; and was a tree trimmer. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ronald McGhee.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Edna and Donnie Vann of Gillham; three children, Brittany Marie McGhee, Austin McGhee and Aburey McGhee; two brothers, Jerry Dale McGhee of Houston, Tex., and Larry Lee “Bumper” McGhee of Eagletown, Okla.; one sister, Tomi Rene Edwards of Keithville, La.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Dorothy Bea Hart

Dorothy Bea Hart, age 88, a resident of Ashdown, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006 in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born Sept. 15, 1918 in Falls Chapel to William and Betty Spicer and was a member of the Faith Life Tabernacle Church.

She is survived by one son, Gary Hart of Ashdown; three daughters, Betty Hathcock and Reva Jo Sides, both of Ashdown and Minnie Goldman of Lockesburg; two sisters, Mae Penney of Crossroads and Freda Schaffer of Fouke; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1 at the Falls Chapel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ed Root officiating. Burial followed in the Falls Chapel cemetery.

Steve Roy Chadwick

Steve Roy Chadwick, age 73, a resident of Eagletown, Okla., died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006 at his home.

He was born Jan. 5, 1933 to Everett and Viola Auge Chadwick, was a retired self-employed cabinet maker, a master wood worker and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary Chadwick; and a brother, Ted Chadwick.

He is survived by his wife, Elva Garvin Chadwick; his children, Steve Chadwick of Florida, Peggy Smith of Minot, N.D., Mike Chadwick of Federal Way, Wash., Nancy Ferguson of Graham, Wash., Vern Chadwick of Oroville, Calif., Anne Hewitt of Quincy, Calif., Adele Pearson of Mena, Kim Collins of Hillsboro, Ore., Jamie Brown of Eagletown, Okla., and David Chadwick of Sarasota, Fla.; his brothers and sisters, Violet Griffin of Cottonwood, Ariz., Patricia Carrel of Sedona, Ariz., Everett Chadwick of Mena, Donna Koehn of Cottage Grove, Ore., Bonnie Duckworth, Rita Chadwick, and Henry Chadwick, all of Eagletown, Okla.; 33 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5 in the Ft. Smith National cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Bobby Fenton

Bobby Glen Fenton Sr., age 65, a resident of Horatio, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006 at his home.

He was born May 7, 1941 in Horatio to Sherman and Lois Casteel Fenton, was an Army veteran serving in the Vietnam Conflict, a retired electrician and a member of the First Baptist Church of Horatio.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Lynn Fenton and a son, Nicky Fenton, in 1990.

He is survived by two sons, Bobby Fenton Jr. of Texarkana and Clay Fenton of Hoschton, Ga.; one daughter, Cheryl Patterson of Hoschton, Ga.; his mother; one brother, Wayne Fenton of Texarkana; one sister, Lola Harris of Dumas; eight grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Coy Arnold and Rev. J.L. Walker officiating. Burial with military rites followed in the Horatio cemetery.

The family met at the home of Margaret Fenton on Heritage Place.

Lena Bidwell

Mrs. Lena V. Campbell Bidwell, age 81, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 at her home.

She was born March 19, 1925 in Hickman, Ky. and was a Presbyterian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay F. Bidwell on Aug. 22, 1996.

Graveside funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 in the Redmen cemetery with Rev. Harold Brewer officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Bobby Fenton

Mr. Bobby Glen Fenton, Sr., age 65, resident of Horatio, died Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at his home.

He was born to Sherman and Lois Casteel Fenton at Horatio on May 7, 1941. He graduated from Horatio High School in 1959, and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving in the U.S. Army. He was a retired electrician, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horatio. He enjoyed cars, trading guns and coins, and his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Lynn Fenton, and a son, Nicky Fenton in 1990. He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby, Jr., and Missy Fenton of Texarkana, Ark.; Clay and Andrea Fenton of Dacula, Georgia; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Todd Patterson of Hoschton, Georgia; his children’s mother, Margaret Fenton of De Queen; his mother Lois Fenton of De Queen, one brother, Wayne Fenton of Texarkana, Ark.; one sister, Lola Harris of Dumas; and eight beloved grandchildren, Blake, Brett, and Blane Patterson; Parker, Cade, and Addison Fenton; Kailey and Emily Fenton, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Bobby Fenton were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2006 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Coy Arnold and Rev. J.L. Walker officiating. Burial with military rites followed in the Horatio cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 2. The family met at the home of Margaret Fenton on Heritage Place, De Queen.

In lieu of flower donations may be made to the Nicky Fenton Memorial Scholarship at Horatio State Bank.

Cecil Wells

Cecil Howard Wells, age 88, a resident of Ashdown, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006 in the Little River Memorial Hospital in Ashdown.

He was born July 31, 1918 in Charleston to Herbert H. and Fannie Mae Burcham Wells, was a former employee for Braswell Sand and Gravel, a farmer and rancher, and an Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Burline Stone Wells and one daughter, Mary Jo McDougal.

He is survived by one daughter, Cecilene Sams of Ashdown; one brother, Harley Wells of Garland City; four grandsons; nine great-grandchildren and two nephews.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 in the Wilton cemetery with Rev. John Henry Williams and Rev. Wallace Wooten officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
