Mr. Luis Arias
Mr. Luis Henrique Arias, age 21, of Grannis, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, in a Little Rock, Arkansas hospital.

Luis was born on July 17, 2000, to Apolinar Arias and Petra Lagunas in De Queen. He worked as laborer for Insulation Works in Wickes and was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in De Queen. He was an active member of the Agape Youth Group at St. Barbara and loved serving the church. He enjoyed decorating his home, playing video games, soccer, and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Felipe Vega, and an uncle, Juan Lagunas.

Luis leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Apolinar Arias and Petra Lagunas of Grannis; his siblings and their spouses, Andres Arias and wife Cristina of Fort Smith, Lorenzo Arias of Grannis, Lorena Arias and husband Ruben Gonzalez of De Queen, Gerardo Arias and wife Kathy Gonzalez of Texarkana, and Maria Angelica Arias of Grannis; three nieces, Zaira Arias of Fort Smith, Anna Sophia Victoria Gonzalez of De Queen, and Ximena Elizabeth Gonzalez of De Queen; as well as aunts, uncles, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Mass for Mr. Luis Arias will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 4, 2022, in the Pastoral Center of St. Barbara Catholic Church in De Queen, with Father Ramses Mendietta officiating. Burial will follow at Redmen Cemetery. Reciting of Rosary and Vigil services will be held from 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M., Monday, at the Pastoral Center. Mr. Ray Sonnier
Mr. Raymond Joseph “Ray” Sonnier, age 90, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at his home in De Queen, Arkansas.

Ray was born on October 30, 1931, in Duson, Louisiana, to Clariel Sonnier and Maydelle LeBlanc Sonnier. At the age of seventeen, Ray joined the United States Army to begin a more than twenty-year military career. He served multiple tours in Korea and Vietnam, retiring as a Staff Sargent. He married the love of his life, Joyce Marie Miller, on October 30, 1982, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the 75th Air Borne Ranger’s Association. Ray enjoyed computers, watching old television shows, and spending time with his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maydelle Sonnier; his father, Clariel “Bee” Sonnier; his stepmother, Bertha Sonnier; brother, Edward Sonnier; and his brother-in-law, Willard Johnson.

Ray leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over thirty-nine years, Joyce Sonnier of De Queen; one daughter, Sandra Kay Woods and husband Friedbert Schmitt of Schweinfurt, Germany; one stepson, Jimmy Huff and wife Misty of Mena, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Melia Keeton-Digby and husband Rick of Watkinsville, Georgia, Lindsay Jefferson and husband Lee of Georgia, Dr. Sean Woods and wife Rania of Phoenix, Arizona, William Huff of Mena, Arkansas, and Travis Huff of Conway, Arkansas; ten great-grandchildren, Lucas, Eric, Della, Troy, Gabriel, Jaydon, Aaron, John, River, and Woods; two sisters, Rena Sonnier Johnson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Louise Savoy and husband Jimmy of Lafayette, Louisiana; one brother, Dallas Sonnier and wife Peggy of St. Martinsville, Louisiana; special caregivers, Jeri and Steve Landgraf, and Karina Hernandez; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Graveside Services for Mr. Ray Sonnier will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Mt. Ida Cemetery with Bro. Tim Bowlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen. Linda Lou Hill
Linda Lou Scott Hill was born July 9, 1944, in Boles, Arkansas. Linda was the daughter of Robert W. “Bob” Scott and Bonnie E. Wilhite Scott. She was carried by angels to be with Jesus on December 26, 2021 having attained the age of 77 years, 5 months, and 17 days.

Linda was a graduate of Waldron High School, and a loving wife and mother. She loved all children, teaching them in Sunday School and VBS for more than 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by three sisters, Aldena Tinder, Geneva “Bokie’ Piper, Thelma Johnston, and by one great grandson Layne Frachiseur.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 59 and a half years, Gerald “Jerry” Hill, by her three children, Bobbi Frachiseur and husband Ricky, Gerald David Hill Jr. and wife Melissa, and Jenny Cox and husband Tim. Also by two sisters Edna Piles and husband Leamon and Teresa Rodebush, and one brother, Aaron “Bub” Scott. She is also survived by seven wonderful grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart. Linda will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, at County Line Baptist Church, with Bro. Floyd Folsom of Mena, Arkansas officiating, burial will follow at County Line Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Pallbearers will be Paul Morrow, Jared Morrow, Zach Morrow, Dustin Frachiseur, Aaron Hill, and Jay Hill.

Rose Marie McCorkle
Rose Marie McCorkle, 75, of Ashdown, AR died Wednesday, December 22, 2021 in a local nursing home. She was born April 11, 1946 in McAllen, TX to the late Joe and Violet (Carlson) Jackson. She was a retired rural mail carrier.

Survivors include one brother, William (Bill) Jackson of Lockesburg, AR.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 2:00 at Wright’s Chapel in Ben Lomond, AR with Billy Hatridge officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 – 1:00 at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown prior to the service.

Gwendolyn Faye Litchford
Gwendolyn Faye Litchford, age 69, a resident of Oklahoma City, OK passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at her home.

She was born November 12, 1952 in Pasadena, Texas. Gwen was a retired school bus driver and custodian. She enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid QVC shopper. She loved to spend time with her friends and family.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Burt Litchford and one daughter, Tanya Coker.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mashell and Joseph Winkleman of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister and brother-in-law, Shelia Walls and Bill Jordan of Waskom, TX; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Gayla Litchford and Wayne and Carolyn Litchford both of Hortatio, AR; three grandchildren, Hollyn Townsend, Irelyn Coker, and Mason McBride.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Texarkana Arkansas Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Ms. Litchford will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Old Center Cemetery in Horatio under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral home.

She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Nelda Cleo Glover
Nelda Cleo Glover, age 85, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at her home.

She was born July 5, 1936 in Burleson, Texas. Nelda was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Lockesburg. She enjoyed reading the bible, crossword puzzles, gospel music and she loved her family.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, James Henry and Beatrice Manning Oakley; her husband, Steven Jesse Glover; two sons, Darrel Glover and Jessie Glover; step brothers, Dewey Brown and Melvin Brown; three step sisters, Edna Heap, Mable Priest and Alma Smith; one daughter, Patricia Miller; two sisters, Glena Dollar and Minnie Kelly; brothers, Leonard Oakley, Simeon Oakley, Sylvester Oakley, Carl Oakley.

She is survived by three sons, Donald Glover of Austin, Texas, James Glover of Dickson, Tennessee, and Steven Glover of Magnolia, Arkansas; two daughters, Brenda Nunn of Texarkana, Texas and Karen Bullard of Lockesburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Rosella Brown of Van Cove, Arkansas and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Glover will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Rufus Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral home.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2021 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen.

Minnie Alma Burnes Bradshaw
Minnie Alma Burnes Bradshaw, age 88, a resident of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 in Texarkana.

She was born July 13, 1933 in Horatio, Arkansas. She was a member of Wilton Baptist Church. She worked in the cafeteria at De Queen General Hospital and De Queen Schools, was a volunteer worker at Little River Museum in Ashdown. She received the 2012 Volunteer of distinction for retired and senior volunteer program in Little River County, and enjoyed traveling with her grandchildren.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Raymond and Ona Mae Martin Burnes; husband, George Edward Bradshaw; and her siblings, Elbert Burnes, Julia Mae McGuire, and Sarah Johnson.

She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Pam Sheets and husband Frank and Sue Woodward all of Texarkana, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, J.R. and Peggy Burnes of Nashville, Tennessee; Grandchildren, Matt and Lisa Fisk of Maude, Texas, Angie Hough of Moorehaven, Florida, and Jared Woodward of Tennessee Colony, Texas; great-grandchildren, Payton, Hayden, Embree Woodward, Taylor Hough, Melissa Belle Fisk and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bradshaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2021 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Matt Fisk officiating. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Lockesburg, Arkansas under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral home in De Queen

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the funeral home
