Pauline McCullough
Pauline McCullough was born in Murfreesboro, Arkansas attended schools in Arkadelphia, and graduated from Arkadelphia High School in 1946. Thereafter, she attended one year of college at Ouachita Baptist College in Arkadelphia. In 1950 she married J.D. McCullough of Dierks, Arkansas. Together, they had two children, Rick and Sandra. The family lived many years in Gary, Indiana, all the while longing to come back to Arkansas. In about 1981, J.D. retired and they did indeed move back to Arkansas and started building their retirement home close to Greeson Lake near Newhope, Arkansas. After J.D.’s untimely death in 1993, she continued to live with her daughter, Sandra, in the house that she and J.D. built and lived there until shortly before her death.

She was a faithful, active member of The Church of Christ in Daisy, Arkansas, and had many friends from that congregation. She was the most kind-hearted, generous and welcoming person you could ever meet.

Survivors include: her daughter, Sandra, her daughter-in-law Kim McCullough, her four grandchildren, one great grand-daughter and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, all six of her siblings, her husband J.D. and her son, Rick.

She now walks the streets of gold in God’s glory and is at peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Funeral services for Mrs. McCollough will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Bro. Walt Mizell, Barry Lindstrom, Mike Haggard and Kim McCullough officiating. Burial will follow in the Biggs Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 14th at the funeral home in Dierks.

Juan Carlos Gonzalez Hernandez

Mr. Juan Carlos Gonzalez Hernandez, age 40, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Sunday, May 9, 2021 at his home.

He was born May 18,1980 in D.F., Mexico. He was a member of Puerta de Ezperanza Church Broken Bow, Oklahoma and a farmer. He enjoyed playing with his daughter, going to church, exercising, running with dogs and eating a lot.

Mr. Gonzalez was preceded in death by his parents, Luis Gonzalez Rojo and Nicolasa Hernandez Ramirez.

He is survived by his wife Yesenia Cuevas; three daughters, Nicole Gonzalez Cuevas, Arianna Cuevas and Miriam Cuevas; two brothers, Israel Gonzalez, Jose Luis Gonzalez and Marisol Gonzalez and a number of nieces and nephews and special friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Gonzalez will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nessler Zaragoza officiating. Burial will follow in the Horatio Cemetery.

Viewing will be held from 5-8 p.m., Monday, May 10, 2021 and Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 8-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Please wear a face mask and practice social distancing for safety.

Alan Derington
Mr. Alan Derington, age 55, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, May 3, 2021 at his home.

He was born February 1, 1966 in De Queen, Arkansas. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Derington was preceded in death by his parents Bobbie D. and Josephine Annie Austin Derington; grandparents, Walter and Erma Austin and Faye Derington and Myrtle Hamilton and two sisters, Patricia Sowell and Cynthia Lang.

He is survived by one sister, Sheri Derington and one brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Cindy Derington, one niece Kayla Maturino, three nephews, Jay Jay Ward, Bobbie Ward, Colton and wife Logan; five great nieces and nephews Efrain Maturino, Sophia Maturino, Cash Ward, Bella Ward and Axel Ward.

Graveside services for Mr. Derington will be held at 3:00p.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at the Sweet Home Cemetery in De Queen with Bro. Larry Sherman officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Mr. Paul Covington
Mr. Paul Howard Covington, Sr., age 82, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, April 30, 2021, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Paul was born the second of three children to the union of Richard Marvin and Pauline Payton Covington on September 8, 1938 in Ruston, Louisiana. He was a 1956 graduate of Ruston High School and went on to receive a Forestry degree from Louisiana Tech University, graduating in 1961. Paul married the love of his life, Judith Zachry, on March 28, 1959, in Ruston, and to this marriage, three children were born. Paul and Judy are members of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in De Queen, and Paul was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). He enjoyed hunting, fishing, remote control airplanes, traveling, genealogy, and giving names to various animals that came around the house, but most of all, Paul cherished the time spent with Judy, their children, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Payton Russ Covington.

Those left to cherish the many memories of Paul include his loving wife of over 62 years, Judy Covington of De Queen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Emily Covington of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Alan and Michele Covington of Russellville, Arkansas; one daughter, Sandra Covington of De Queen; seven grandchildren, Sara Beth (Kyle) Eubanks of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Payton Paul Covington of Farmington, Arkansas, Zachry Sawyer (Christina) Rentfro of Russellville, Arkansas, Rachel LeeAnn Covington of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Cole, Luke, and Anna Covington, all of Russellville, Arkansas; one great-grandchild, Jude David Eubanks of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one brother, Van Wesley Covington and his wife Judy of Brandon, Mississippi; as well as, his favorite puppy Molly, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. Paul Covington will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Carlton officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Ruston, Louisiana, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends following the funeral service, Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Judy and family wish to express their deepest appreciation to Ashley McClendon for her generous and graceful care and love given to Mr. Paul over the past years.

In lieu of floral offerings, the family request that memorials be made to Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 527, De Queen, Arkansas 71832, or the Arkansas Kidney Association, 1818 N. Taylor Street #186, Little Rock, Arkansas 72207, in memory of Mr. Paul Covington.

Mrs. Reta Bradley
Mrs. Reta Jo Ann Adams Bradley, age 66, resident of De Queen, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, April 29, 2021, in Texarkana, Texas.

Mrs. Bradley was one of four children born to J.E. and Mable Elizabeth Smith Adams on March 31, 1955 in Lewisville, Arkansas. She was a 1973 graduate of Blevins High School and was a Licensed Practical Nurse. Reta formerly worked at the garment plant in Nashville, the bank in Blevins, and Diamond Bank in De Queen. She married the love of her life, Garth Edwin Bradley, Sr., on January 1, 1984. She and Edwin are members of the De Queen Church of Christ and Reta was a member of several quilting and sewing clubs. She enjoyed crafts, fishing with Edwin, canning, her animals, and hummingbirds, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family and dear friends.

Reta believed in loving and helping others. She faithfully donated to Locks of Love when she could.

Reta was preceded in death by her father, J.E. Adams, and her brother-in-law, David Smith.

Those left to cherish her loving memory include her husband of over 37 years, Edwin Bradley, Sr. of De Queen; two sons and one daughter-in-law, JR Bradley and Steven (Paula) Bradley, all of Mena; one daughter, Beverly Ann Chambers of Mena; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; her mother, Mabel Adams of De Queen; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Nancy Adams of De Queen, and Willie and Geanetta Adams of De Queen; one sister, Susan Smith of De Queen; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Reta Bradley will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 3, 2021, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Toney Stowers, Minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Jacqueline Marie Burke-Andres
Jacqueline Marie Burke-Andres age73, a resident of Hot Springs, AR, died Friday, April 23, 2021 at CHI St.Vincent. She was born December 11,1947 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Ennis Burke and Etta Mae Walker- Burke.She was a Baptist and worked as a CNA and home health nurse.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ennis Burke; her mother, Etta Mae Burke; her son, Michael Jones; her brother, Douglas Burke; and her sisters Hellen Allen and Patricia Stafford.

She is survived by her three daughters, Patti Driver of DeQueen, AR. Bille Renee Quattlebaum of Hot Springs, AR, and Carmie Gillis of Nashville, Ar. One sister, Barbara Mitchell of Idabel, OK. Her ten grandchildren, and a number of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial services are pending.

Robert Lynn “Bobby” Story
Mr. Robert Lynn “Bobby” Story, age 69, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Friday, April 23, 2021 at his home.

He was born February 15, 1952 in De Queen, Arkansas. Bobby loved his family and grandkids; he enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved wood working. He was a Baptist. He was a line manager for Tyson.

Mr. Story was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Rhea Story; his parents, Houston B. and Rose Bell Parrish Story and fourteen brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Tina Rhea Bailey of De Queen and Catherine Lynn and Jimmy Eastman of De Queen; grandchildren, Dustin Story, LaTosha Story, Kimberly and Jacob White, Dakota Eastman, Hannah Eastman and Shawn Eastman; two great grandchildren, Alijah Story and Paislynn Stinson and a number of nieces and nephews.

A private service was held.
