Mr. Bill Brown
Mr. William Aubrey Brown, Sr., age 90, resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texarkana.

Bill was one of seven children born to Commie O.D. and Lucile Jacobs Brown on March 13, 1930 in Longview, Texas. He faithfully served with the United States Army and was deployed overseas during the Korean Conflict. Bill married the love of his life, Jearldean Clayton, on June 2, 1956 in Longview, and to this union, six children were born. Bill worked many capacities to support his family. Some include: Frozen Food Locker in De Queen, City of De Queen Water Department and time spent as a City of De Queen Auxiliary Police Officer. Bill studied High Voltage Electricity in California and returned to Southwest Arkansas to serve as an Electrician for Weyerhaeuser Company, retiring after 20 years of service. Bill attended Lewis Temple Church of God in Christ and enjoyed playing dominos, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of over 63 years, Jearldean Brown; one daughter, Regina Kay Brown; and three siblings, Prentice Brown, Hurie Brown and Ettie Mae Williams.

Bill leaves to cherish his loving memory, two sons, William Brown, Jr. and Michael Brown, both of De Queen; three daughters, Patricia Brown and Elmyra Brown, both of De Queen, and Rhonda Brown Tucker and husband Michael of Seneca, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Derrick Whitmore (Latoria), Alisha Brown Williams (Ricky), Greg White (Lashayla), Andre Dade, Fantasia White and Michael S. Brown; eleven great-grandchildren, Kobi (Bree), Ashton, Aubrey, Ryann, Donyea, Madison, Trinity, Kylan, Journey, Greyson and Gavin; three sisters, Flora Pierce, Mamie Manus and Josephine Brown, all of Longview, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Brown of Longview, Texas and Dean Brown of Dos Palos, California; special friends, Charles Tramble, Michael Jackson, Martha Powell and Charles Keels; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services for Mr. Bill Brown will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Sand Hill Cemetery, De Queen, with Eld. Jerome Edwards and Bro. Kevin Brazil officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be general.

R.C. David Lacefield
R.C. David Lacefield, age 81, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, April 13, 2020, at Bear Creek Nursing and Rehab in De Queen.

He was born April 19, 1938, in De Queen. Mr. Lacefield was self-employed jack of all trades and a member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen David and Bertha Mae Owens Lacefield; one son, Ricky David Lacefield,; three brothers, Billy, Junior and Hubert Lacefield; three sisters, Dorothy Lawson, Verna Webster and Linnie Bell Griffin.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hunt Lacefield; one daughter, Sharon Norton; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Vickie Lacefield and one brother, Floyd Lacefield all of De Queen; one sister, Lola Barkman of Vidor, Texas; four grandchildren, Melissa Harder, Lacey Harder, Dylan and Cooper Lacefield; four great grandchildren, KK, Hannah, Cylus, Blaine; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral service for Mr. Lacefield will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Redmen Cemetery with Chaplain Robert Ward officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Bobby Wayne Wilson
Bobby Wayne Wilson, age 80, a resident of Springfield, Tennessee, transitioned from this life to Glory Friday, April 3, 2020, at his home.

He was born October 1, 1939, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Bobby was a devout Christian, former youth leader, lay preacher, avid fisherman, and had a passion for Jewish-Christian Hebraic studies. He was the owner of Wilson Painting Contractors, a member of The River Church in Portland, Tennessee, and a United States Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Henry and Sarah Ryan Wilson; two sisters, Shirley Crews and Aline Kuykendall; one brother, Paul (Bucky) Wilson; and one son-in-law, Randy Rollins.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ollita Wilson; three daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy and Marty Russell of Haworth, Oklahoma, Terri Rollins of Spring Hill, Tennessee, and Toni Lewis of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; one brother, Billy Wilson of Morrilton, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Rance Russell, Kelsey Russell, Adam Eason, Connor Lewis, Savannah Lewis, and Hayden Taylor Ryan.

A private graveside funeral service for Mr. Wilson will be held at a later date with Bro. John Gutierrez officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.

Rob Cole
Rob Cole was born January 3, 1970. He passed away during the afternoon of March 30, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas due to cancer.

Rob was the New Year’s baby for De Queen Hospital in 1970. He was a blessing to Bootney and Priscilla Cole. He was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents Johnny and Alma Cole; Burl and Ruby Stinnett. He is survived by his father “Bootney” John L. Cole; his aunt and uncle, Joyce and Johnnie Gentry of Texarkana, Texas; cousins, Tammy Whatley, Todd Whatley, and Leslie Lemley.

Rob graduated from De Queen High School in 1988 and attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was in business with his father for many years.

He truly loved life. As a child, he enjoyed camping and fishing with his entire family at Broken Bow Lake. He loved rock music since the second grade. As he entered his teen years, Rob became a motocross fan and began riding. He competed at various motocross tracks in Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma well into his forties. He won numerous trophies that filled his home. Rob built a motocross track behind his home on Crosstrails. His friends from the Ark-La-Tex visited often to practice on his track. Rob powered his motorcycle as high as some of the tree tops.

Don Higgins introduced Rob to running 5ks ten years ago and helped him to prepare and compete in marathons. Rob loved running with Greg Hale, Sarah Morphew, Erik Smith, and Lacy Young. He traveled to several places in the United States to race. He loved to run several miles after getting off work and on the weekends. Just ask Greg Hale. Rob pushed them to run faster and farther.

He had his first battle against cancer in the early 1990s and won. Recently, Rob had to battle it again until his passing on March 30. Rob was loved dearly by his family and many friends. Because of Covid-19 a memorial service will not be held. In lieu of flowers, please make monetary gifts of love to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, 1 Children’s Way, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202.

Tony Morris
Mr. Tony Morris, age 84, resident of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed from this life on Friday, April 3, 2020, at the Cecil R.Bomar Rehabilitation Center in Nacogdoches.

Born July 6, 1935, in Decatur, Texas, to Bessie Evel Pruett Morris and Jesse Lee Morris, Tony grew up in north Texas and lived most of the first half of his life there. After two years at North Texas State University, he volunteered for the army and served stateside for two years during the Korean conflict. He was married to Dorothy Jamie Fowler from 1955 until her death in 1971; they had two daughters, Debra and Kathleen, who survive him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dona Kay Morris, who passed away in November 2019. His parents and both his siblings, Joe and Jaytha Morris, also preceded him in death.Along with Kathleen and Debra, he is survived by Dona’s three children, Rebecca, Kevin, and Jennifer, as well as eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, numerous members of the extended family, and his faithful dog Spike.

Tony’s first jobs as a preteen and teen were pumping gas at his father’s service station and wrapping butter at the dairy in Decatur. He worked in electrical engineering in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the 1950s and 1960s and in the construction business in the 1970s. In 1977, he and Dona moved to DeQueen, Arkansas, where he built their home – as he said, “drove almost every nail in it” - on 20 acres of woods. There he worked as a roofing contractor and drove a school bus, experimented with raising goats and rabbits, and became a successful gardener who learned to can fresh produce. He and Dona were active members ofDeQueen Church of Christ for 37 years. He was an avid fisherman and played banjo, guitar, and dobro with a bluegrass band in DeQueen, dabbling as well in mandolin and fiddle music.

Tony will be remembered for his fierce independence and ready grin, his unshakable faith and loyalty to friends and family, and his endless supply of corny jokes and useful aphorisms.

Because of the covid-19 pandemic, no public funeral service can be held. Tony will be laid to rest beside Dona in a burial service privately conducted at the Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home in DeQueen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Appleby Church of Christ (10316 FM 941, Nacogdoches, TX 75965), where he was a member, or to the charity of your choice.

Starling Houston “Junior” Lipscomb, Jr.
Mr. Starling Houston “Junior” Lipscomb, Jr., age 67, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Friday, April 3, 2020, at his home.

He was born November 15, 1952, in Dierks. He was a general laborer, attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Dierks, and
was a United States Army veteran.

Mr. Lipscomb was preceded in death by his parents, Starling H. Lipscomb, Sr. and Lula Leona Jones Lipscomb; his wife, Karen Lightfoot Lipscomb; one sister, Bondina Jones; and one nephew, J.R. Jones.

He is survived by one daughter, Misty Holden of Dierks and her fiancé Butch Millegan; one sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Butch Gunnells; three grandchildren, Brian, Emily, and Kaleb Holden; one great grandchild, Serenity Mann; two special friends, Marla Fahrney and J.T. Keaster; and a number of nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.

Mr. Frank Jordan
Mr. Frank Lee Jordan, age 62, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Friday, March 27, 2020, at his home.

He was born to Lonzo Jordan and Minnie Nelson Hopkins on February 8, 1958, in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a foreman at Weyerhauser and worked for Tri State Asphalt in De Queen. He enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Chester, George and Lonnie Jordan, Clarence Goff and Randell Nelson; and three sisters, Dorothy Powell, Sedalia Jordan and Annie Maull.

He is survived by four brothers, Jerry Lee Whitmore of Maumelle, Tommy “Tony” Whitmore of De Queen, Stephen Leon Whitmore and his wife Elonda of Broken Bow, and Charlie D. Jordan and his wife Katherine of De Queen; five sisters, Clara Mae Wilburn of Kansas City, Missouri, April Bennett of Horatio, Mamie Pace of Bellingham, Washington, Mary Lee Edwards of Lawrence, Kansas and Marie Whitmore of De Queen; two special nieces, Michelle Maull and Veronica Edwards (Lavelle) of Little Rock, Arkansas; a very special friend of over 30 years, Mickie Murphy; as well as, other nephews, nieces, relatives and a host of friends.

It is with a heavy heart that we are writing to inform you that after extensive and thoughtful consideration regarding the coronavirus outbreak, the family of Frank Jordan has decided to POSTPONE his going home memorial service until further notice.

We ultimately want to ensure the safety of our families and guests who would have been in attendance, as well as to ease the burden of any worry that our guests may have had regarding the decision to attend.

We cannot thank you enough for your calls, texts, cards, flowers, etc. and support during this time. Your compassion and thoughtfulness helps to keep us strong!

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
