Jeffery Glenn Ross

Mr. Jeffery Glenn Ross, age 63, a resident of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, December 13, 2018, in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born February 23, 1955, in De Queen, Arkansas. He was an auto detailer.

Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents, Glen Ross and Geraldine Lee Desmond.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Holman Ross; two daughters, Jessica Ross of Texarkana and Natasha Shannon of Joplin, Missouri; two sisters, Jerri Edd of Wilton, Arkansas and Glenda Ross of Pomona, California; one

brother, Roderick Ross of Pomona; a step mother, Roslin Ross also of Pomona; two aunts, Irene Daniels and Jane McCoy both of De Queen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Ross will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December

22, 2018, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Jamie Erby and Marcus Holman officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, December 21st at the funeral home.

Bobby Wayne Kesterson
Bobby Wayne Kesterson was born August 12, 1938, and went to be with those whose arms were waiting on him December 12, 2018. He was 80 years old. He was an Elder with the Community of Christ and retired from Red River Army Depot.

Bobby loved hunting, fishing, and enjoyed being with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hallie and Bertha Kesterson; his sister Juanita Willbanks and her husband JE Willbanks; two special nieces, Elane Kesterson Miears and Jennifer Schaad; and two sons-in-law, Paul Smith and Shawn Ketchum.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Kesterson; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lori and Kerry Downs of New Boston, Texas, Jan and Robby McKnight of Winthrop, Arkansas, and Marilyn Ketchum of Helena, Montana; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Stephanie and Kody Karr of Simms, Texas; two grandsons, Logan and Trevor Ketchum; two great grandsons, Blake and Kyler Karr; one brother, Samuel Kesterson of Winthrop; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Kesterson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the Community of Christ in Winthrop with Cathie Rolf and Leroy Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery in Winthrop under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to: Community of Christ, 808 Broad Street, Winthrop, Arkansas 71866 or Arkansas Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 2222, Little Rock, Arkansas 72203-9984.

Mr. John McKinley

On Saturday, December 8, 2018, John Edward McKinley went to that home prepared for him by Jesus. John was 88 years old when he passed at home with his family by his side. He was born to Russell and Alice Camille Arnold McKinley on November 26, 1930 in De Queen on Thanksgiving Day. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lockesburg. He graduated from De Queen High School, where he played football and was on the tumbling team. He worked at Hazelwood Dairy, Palace Drug Store and Southern Ice Plant during his school years.

He served four years with the United States Air Force. The Air Force sent him to communication school in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He helped rebuild communication lines for air bases over Germany and France. He received the Nation Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the German Occupation Medal. When he was discharged from the Air Force, he went to work for Texas Telephone Company in Garland, Texas. They later became General Telephone Company, which is now Verizon. He transferred to Texarkana, Texas in 1973 and moved his family to Horatio. After working for GTE for 34 years, he took early retirement in 1989. In 1955, he married Evelyn Jeanette Hawthorne and they had three children. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Rhonda Joyce Coon.

He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Evelyn McKinley, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald Edward McKinley of Horatio, and Jerry Randal and Sonya McKinley of De Queen; three grandchildren, Reagan Lynn McKinley of Bryant, Arkansas, Tiffany and her husband, Jeremy Craig of Grannis, and Chris and Katie Winer of Umpire, Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren, Braylon Paul Liggin, E. J., Tristan, Copelan and Crimson Winer, and Emma Claire and Clyde Craig; two brothers, Robert Lee McKinley and Michael Stephen McKinley both of Horatio; as well as, a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. John McKinley will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 10, 2018 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Mayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time Monday, at the funeral home.

James Lacey Jenkins
Mr. James Lacey Jenkins, age 79, a resident of Wickes, Arkansas, died Thursday, December 6, 2018 , at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born to James Nolan and Ora Minnie Demorest Jenkins on January 28, 1939, in the Duckett Community of Howard County, Arkansas. Lacey was a member of the Wickes Church of the Nazarene and served in the United States Army. Lacey spent his life being dedicated to his Lord and his family. He worked in the timber industry, was a practical joker and enjoyed fishing, gardening, working on things and he loved feeding his birds and cats, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Reba Jenkins and Joy Bailey Jenkins; and a grandson, Derrick Jenkins.

He is survived by four sons, James Jenkins and his wife Vicki, Neal Jenkins and his wife Patricia, Jason Jenkins and Thomas Jenkins and his wife BJ, all of Wickes, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Heather Smothers and her husband Dalton, Amber McFadden and her husband Jimmy, Rochelle Barrett and her husband Kyle, Justin Jenkins and his wife Ariel, Ashley Sweat and her husband Jon, Brittany Jenkins and Alex Jenkins; ten great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Gage, Haylen, Timbree, Meadow, Roanin, Bentley, Emma, Madi and Wyatt; as well as other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. James Jenkins will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in the Wickes Church of the Nazarene with Pastor David Baker and Bro. Leon McCleskey officiating. Burial will follow in the Crystal Hill Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, December 10th, at the funeral home.

Tiffany Deanette McKinley
Tiffany Deanette McKinley, age 49, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Tuesday, December 4, 2018, in Dallas.

She was born September 7, 1969. She was a Director of Nursing at Sunset Village in St. Roberts, Missouri and was a Baptist.

Ms. McKinley was preceded in death by her mother, Linda McKinley.

She is survived by her father, Robert McKinley of Horatio, Arkansas; her fiancé, Steven Leeper of Lockesburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan and Jessica Murry of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Logan and Haleih Murry of Lockesburg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Donna McKinley and James and Vona McKinley all of Horatio; two grandchildren, Noah and Levi Murry; and a host of family and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Ms. McKinley will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Chapel Hill Cemetery with Bro. Travis Lane officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Linda Prestidge
Mrs. Linda Jane Prestidge, age 70, a resident of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Monday, December 3, 2018, in a Paris, Texas hospital.

She was the third of four children born to Coy Thomas and Naomi Eugena Burke Smith on November 11, 1948 in De Queen, Arkansas. Linda married the love of her life, Allen Leroy Prestidge on September 11, 1974, in Hot Springs. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church in De Queen. She loved her dog, Missy, and cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen Prestidge; one daughter, Patricia Maylynn Lansdell; one sister, Alice Faye Russell; and a brother, Kenneth Smith.

She is survived by one son, Michael Shane Prestidge and his Fiance Kim Ray of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; she was “Grandma” to her three grandchildren, Katie Renee Prestidge, Scott Shane Prestidge both of Batesville, Arkansas, and Brittany Michelle Prestidge of Wisconsin; as well as, three great-grandchildren, Shane Laceylee Prestidge, Abbigail Rayne Brown and Everly Marie Prestidge, all of Batesville, Arkansas; one brother, Don Smith and his wife Flora of Mount Ida, Arkansas; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Linda Prestidge will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 6, 2018, in the Mt. Ida Cemetery with Bro. Mike Pense officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 5th, at the funeral home.

Kenneth Wayne Smith
Mr. Kenneth Wayne Smith, age 80, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born August 26, 1938 in De Queen. He was retired from De Queen Sand and Gravel and was a member of the National Guard.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Naomi Smith; and two sisters, Alice Russell and Linda Prestidge.

He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Flora Smith of Story, AR; and five nephews and their spouses, Roger and Becky Smith of North Pole, Alaska, Michael Prestidge of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Tommy and Rhonda Russell of Wickes, Arkansas, David and Mary Russell of Wickes, and Steven and Jarah Russell of Horatio, Arkansas.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in the Mt. Ida Cemetery with Bro. Travis Lane officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 4th at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home of Steven and Jarah Russell, 161 Campbell Rd. in Horatio.
