Margie Ann Hamilton

Mrs. Margie Ann Hamilton, age 66, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born January 1, 1952, in De Queen. She was a retired supervisor for Pilgrim’s Pride and attended New Zion Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her parents, James Jessie and Margaret Lee Parker and Oscar Ramsey and three brothers, Ricky, Randy, and James Parker.

She is survived by two daughters, Tanisha (Bentron) Parker of Sherwood, Arkansas and Mandy (Milton) Glass of Fayetteville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Baylea Parker, Makensie Glass, Mikayla Glass, and Milton Christopher Glass; four brothers, Mike Ross of Texarkana, Texas, Gary Parker, Steven Parker, and Jessie Parker all of De Queen; three sisters, Cynthia Franklin, Debra Easter, and Jacqueline Parker all of De Queen; aunties, Irene Daniels and Jane McCoy; special friends, Marcia Boyles and Lizzie Lewis; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hamilton will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018, in the New Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Carl Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17th at the funeral home.

Jessica Nichole Willis McConnell

Mrs. Jessica Nichole Willis McConnell, age 27, a resident of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Friday, April 6, 2018, in Hot Springs.

She was born November 6, 1990, in Hope, Arkansas. She was a Certified Nurse Aid at Heritage of Hot Springs Health and Rehab.

She is survived by one son, Zackary Alexander Keith; a daughter, Kayden Elizabeth Willis; her father and step mother, Donnie and Anna Willis of Dierks, Arkansas; her mother, Dorothy Kay Willis of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; two sisters, Amanda Kay Willis of Little Rock, Arkansas and Crystal Renee Pinkerton of Lewisville, Arkansas; a niece Yasimen Renee Alonso; two uncles, John Hendricks and James Hendricks; and her father-in-law, Frank McConnell.

Funeral services for Mrs. McConnell will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel at Dierks with Dr. Blase officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Joy Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, April 13th at the funeral home in Dierks.

Lonny Ray Staggs

Mr. Lonny Ray Staggs, age 64, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at his home.

He was born June 27, 1953, in De Queen. He was a retired mechanic and a devoted Christian, husband, father, and papaw.

Mr. Staggs was preceded in death by his fathers, Curry Staggs and George Winer and his mother, Magell Bell Staggs Winer.

He is survived by his wife Gail Mathis Staggs; five children and two daughters-in-law, Amber Hernandez of Texas, Heather Staggs of Nashville, Arkansas, Lonny Ray Staggs, Jr. and wife Julie, Christopher Roy and Stephanie Staggs, and Jessica Rose Staggs all of De Queen; nine grandchildren, Michael, Marco, Maranda, Keri, Henry, Scarlett, Brooklynn, Allyson, and Hallie; one brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Marsha Staggs of Fayetteville, Arkansas; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Bonnie Phillips of Missouri, Wanda and Stoney Cole of De Queen, Georgia Winer Hasten of Seattle, Washington, and Patricia Winer Torres of Portland, Oregon; and his step-mother, Rose Winer.

Graveside memorial services for Mr. Staggs will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Old Piney Cemetery with Ken Staggs officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Glenden Wheat Irons

Mrs. Glenden Wheat Irons, age 66, a resident of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Thursday, April 5, 2018, at her home.

She was born September 18, 1951, in Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a Christian.

Mrs. Irons was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Irons and her parents, William Wheat and Gladys Haywood.

She is survived by her five daughters and two sons-in-law, Glenda and David Runnels of Provo, Arkansas, Christina Irons of De Queen, Arkansas, Tammy and Jody McRae of De Queen, Debbie Conatser of Texarkana, and Tazma Irons of De Queen; her son, Johnny Irons, Jr. of Eagletown, Oklahoma; three step-children, Darlene Thompson, Leah Lynn Flores, and Debbie Villanueva all of Henderson, Texas; her sister, Debra Cox of Texarkana; ten grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Irons will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Avon Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 7th at the funeral home.

Joseph Kolb

Mr. Joseph Edward Kolb, age 85, a resident of Green’s Chapel Community died Monday, April 2, 2018 in Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas.

He was born August 6, 1932 in the Green’s Chapel Community. He was a project accountant for Weyerhaeuser, a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Green’s Chapel Methodist Church.

Mr. Kolb was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Bohannon and Viva Helen Curtis Kolb.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Cowgill Kolb of Lockesburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Edward Kolb, Jr. and Terrie of Dallas, Texas and Ronald David and Christine Kolb of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan Denise and Mark Kordie of Orange, Texas; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bill and Crista Kolb of Green’s Chapel, Dennis and Linda Kolb of Little Rock, Arkansas and Richard Kolb of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Kolb will be held at 2:00p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 in the Green’s Chapel Methodist Church with Bro. Carroll Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Green’s Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. Thursday, April 5th at the funeral home in Dierks.

Geraldine Lee Desmond

Mrs. Geraldine Lee Desmond, age 80, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Sunday, April 1, 2018, in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born November 22, 1937 in De Queen. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Zion Baptist Church.

Mrs. Desmond was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dovie Julia Scroggins Lee; five sisters, Blanche Lee, Grace Lee, Margaret Parker, Willie Mae Williams and Thelma Lee; and a number of nieces, nephews and close friends.

She is survived by her significant other, Francisco Padrinez; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Kathryn Ross of Texarkana, Texas; one daughter, Jerri Edd of Wilton, Arkansas; one step son, Jeremy Lomax of Nash, Texas; four grandchildren, Jennifer Beard and husband Tony, Rodeshan Edd, Jessica Ross and Allison Lomax; four great grandchildren, Djemila Stinson, Ja’darius Irvin, Dewayne Irvin II, and Ramiah Williams; two sisters, Irene Daniels and Jane McCoy, both of De Queen; two godchildren, Lawrence Lewis and Becky Hendershot, both of De Queen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Desmond will be held at 12:00p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the New Zion Baptist Church in De Queen with Dr. Carl Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at the funeral home.

Vickie Rhea Story

Mrs. Vickie Rhea Story, age 62, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Saturday, March 31, 2018, at her home.

She was born September 17, 1955 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Mrs. Story was preceded in death by her father, Harlow Sanders.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Story; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tina Bailey and Cathy and Jimmy Eastman all of De Queen; her mother, Bobbie Flournoy of De Queen; one brother, Dennis Sanders; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Story will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Chapel Hill Cemetery in De Queen, with Jimmy Roden officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m., Tuesday before the service.
