Jerry Bob Ayers

Mr. Jerry Bob Ayers, age 89, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in De Queen, Arkansas.

He was born June 25, 1927 in Horatio to Ernest and Dana Lois Gore Ayers.

Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his brother, Joe Ed Ayers of Horatio; two sisters, Tina James of Dallas, Texas and Patsy Sharp of Lockesburg, Arkansas; and a number of nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Ayers will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Old Center Cemetery with Rev. Sam Hendricks officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mary Jane Pickett

Miss Mary Jane Pickett, age 94, a resident of Lockesburg, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas.

She was born August 14, 1922, in Athens, Arkansas. She was a beautician and co-owner of The Beauty Shop in Lockesburg. She was a member of the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church; she loved her family, church family and enjoyed bird watching.

Miss Pickett was preceded in death by her parents, James Frank and Minnie Elizabeth Stacy Pickett; four brothers, Wesley Pickett, Claude Pickett, James Pickett and Robert Pickett; her longtime friend and business partner, Joyce Raney.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Neta Dell Pickett of Lockesburg; three nieces and their spouses, Shelia and Jose Mendez of Texarkana, Texas, Barbara and Terry Butler of Nashville, Arkansas and Diann and Wallace Wooten of Lockesburg; two nephews, David Pickett and wife Katrina of Dierks, Arkansas and Nelson Pickett of Dallas, Texas; her extended family, Mike and Valerie Gathright; a number of great nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services for Miss Pickett will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017, in the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Donny Davis and Bro. James Gathright officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, May 26th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sybil Jean Faulkner

Mrs. Sybil Jean Faulkner, age 88, a resident of Newhope, Arkansas, died Monday, May 22, 2017, in Dierks Health and Rehab in Dierks.

She was born November 2, 1928 in Athens, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Umpire Holiness Church.

Mrs. Faulkner was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Opal Pate Flenor; one brother, RC Flenor; one sister, Helen Jamison and two sons, Jimmy Faulkner and Kenny Ray Faulkner.

She is survived by her husband, Raymon Faulkner; one son, Paul Faulkner of Dierks; one sister, Jhonia Faye Kirkpatrick and two brothers, James Flenor and Terry Flenor; three grandchildren, Jason Faulkner, Megan Tollett and Kip Faulkner; four great grandchildren, Rex Faulkner, Lincoln Faulkner, Briseis Faulkner and Alex Faulkner and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Faulkner will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in the Umpire Holiness Church with Steve Green and Don Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Doug Arndt

Mr. Douglas Alan "Doug" Arndt, age 61, a resident of De Queen, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2017. He was born to Dorris and Corrine Chaney Arndt in Perryton, Texas, on April 30, 1956. He was a truck driver, and a member of the Grace Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant granddaughter, Madison.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Debbie Arndt of De Queen, a son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Michelle Bolin of Conway, Arkansas, two daughters and a son-in-law, Leslie and Clint Smith of De Queen, and Amanda Fairless of Smithville, Oklahoma, his seven grandchildren; Dylan Crawford and his wife, Tracey of Winthrop, Destiny Crawford of De Queen, Kaitlyn, Colton, and Kenli Bolin of Conway, Arkansas, Body and Lindsey Thomas, and his great-grandchildren, Mia, Eden, Blake, and Sawyer. Doug is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Freda Arndt of Gillham, Arkansas, Dennis and Cynthia Arndt of De Queen, his sister-in-law, Dorothy Stout, his ex-brother-in-law, Dan Burt, a very special aunt, Pearl Frachiseur, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Doug was loved and cherished by all of his family and friends. He was a great provider with a special soul and big heart. Doug loved fishing, working on cars, music and spending any time he could with his great-grandkids. They were the true love of his life. He will be dearly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Doug Arndt will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 25th in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, with Bro. Tim Johnson officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Chandler Funeral Home.

Blake Edwin Williams

Blake Edwin Williams, the infant son of Matt and Destinee Williams of Dierks, Arkansas went to join his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 19, 2017 in a Texarkana, Texas hospital.

Blake was born on May 19, 2017 in Texarkana, Texas.

Other survivors include one Brother; Kaiden James Williams of Dierks, Arkansas; his grandparents; Rick and Lorraine Williams of Horatio, Arkansas; Steven and Amanda Brecheisen of Lockesburg, Arkansas; his great grandparents: Joe and Nancy Stafford of De Queen, Arkansas; Bonnie Lee of Eagletown, Oklahoma; Martha Brecheisen of Lockesburg, Arkansas; John and Terrie Brecheisen of Wickes, Arkansas; three aunts and one uncle; Meagan Brecheisen of Lockesburg, Arkansas; Stephen and Ashley Williams of Horatio, Arkansas; Alicia Williams of De Queen Arkansas and a number of cousins and other relatives.

Graveside services will be in the West Otis Cemetery, 2:00 pm Tuesday with Rev. Joe Walden officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.

The family will be gathered at the Brecheisen's residence, 112 West Spruce St. Unit A, Lockesburg, Arkansas 71846.

Mr. Ray Windel (Sonny) Thomas

Mr. Ray Windel (Sonny) Thomas, age 85, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Friday, May 19, 2017 in Dierks, Arkansas.

He was born June 28, 1931 to David and Ella Proctor Thomas in Little River County Arkansas. He was a retired millworker for Weyerhaeuser. He enjoyed visiting with his family and friends and loved his dog Peaches.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Opal Dean Thomas and Odell Thomas; and three sisters, Maurine Butler, Irene Brown, and Shirley Dinger.

He is survived by two sisters, Betty McNeal of De Queen and Linda Catlett of Jacksonville, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday the 21st at the funeral home in De Queen with cremation to follow. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Bertha Eliana Hernandez

Baby Bertha Eliana Hernandez, age 0, was stillborn Friday, May 12, 2017, at an East Texas hospital.

She was born to Isabel Salazar on Friday, May 12, 2017.

Funeral services for Baby Bertha Hernandez will be held Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 2:00 P.M., in the Redmen Cemetery, De Queen, Arkansas.
