Samuel Cecil Tabler, Jr.

Samuel Cecil Tabler Jr., 77, of Ashdown, AR passed away October 4, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Tabler was born August 20, 1939 in Ben Lomond, AR to Samuel Cecil and Mary Alice Tabler Sr. He was a member and an ordained deacon of Hopewell Baptist Church in Ashdown, AR. He was an avid horseman and a legend of his time. Mr. Tabler was a horse trainer and horseshoer for over 50 years. He was a 4H project leader for over 24 years. Mr. Tabler married his high school sweetheart , Ethyl Marie Ardwin, and they would have been married 56 years this coming Saturday October 8th. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Dimmer; three brothers, Doyle Tabler, Hal Tabler, and Vernon "Buddy " Tabler.

Survivors include in loving wife, Ethyl Marie Ardwin Tabler of Ashdown, AR; one daughter, Maria Cecilia "Molly" Tabler and her husband Donnie Wooden of Ashdown, AR; three sisters, Mittie Hinsley of Maybank, TX, Winnie Hunter of Shreveport, LA, Shirley Musgrove of Midlothian, TX; one grandson, Lucas Lee Wooden, twin granddaughters, Allison Marie and Emily Ann Wooden; numerous relatives and a host of friends.

Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Ed Penney, Donnie Smith
Pallbearers: Chris Moon, Doyle Crouch, Rick Wisdom, Phillip Redfearn, Norman Jester, Jimmy Jester, Dale Sansom, Gene McKnight

Visitation will be Thursday October 6, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Madden Funeral Home Chapel in Ashdown, AR.

Funeral Services will be Friday October 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Hopewell Baptist Church in Ashdown, AR with Bro. Ike Thompson and Bro. Travis Arden officiating. Burial will follow at Blackerby Cemetery in Ashdown, AR under the direction of Madden Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Mr. David Wayne Jones

Mr. David Wayne Jones, Sr., age 44, a resident of Horatio, died Saturday, October 1, 2016 at his home.

He was born to Robert E. Sr., and Jennifer Irene Sharp Jones in Phoenix, Arizona on February 14, 1972. He worked in Heating and Cooling, and was a member of the Church of Nazarene. In his leisure time, he enjoyed reading, music concerts, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Erica and Adam Brandon and Allison Leemarie Jones, all of Horatio, two sons and a daughter-in-law, David Wayne, Jr. and Casey Jones, and Nathan Edward Jones both of Horatio, his father, Robert E. Jones, Sr. of Phoenix, Arizona, two brothers, Robert E. Jones, Jr., and Michael Jones all of Arizona, Five grandchildren, Trevor, Kaige, Zolee, Gracie, and Lennon, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be at a later date.

Mrs. Juanita Fae Nunez

Mrs. Juanita Fae Nunez, age 86, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Sunday, October 2, 2016, at her home.

She was born to Ollie Whitfield and Eunice Wright Ely, in Dallas, Texas, on July 23, 1930. She was a member of the Iglesia Bautista Ebenezer of De Queen, and was a retired secretary, as well as a homemaker. She enjoyed her church and yard work.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Pete Nunez of De Queen, and two nephews, Jimmie Carter and Robert Carter both of Dallas, Texas, and a number of other relatives.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in the First Baptist Church of De Queen.

Mr. Frank Tugman

Mr. Frank Lash Tugman, age 81, a resident of King, Arkansas, died Friday, September 30, 2016, at his home.
He was born July 11, 1935, in Ada, Oklahoma to Fred and Della Tugman. He was an auto mechanic and he served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Tugman was preceded in death by his wife Sadie Tugman; his parents; and two sons, Larry Tugman and Victor Tugman.

He is survived by three daughters, Kathy Billingsley of Gillham, Arkansas, Renee Gaither also of Gillham, and Shelia Theath of Mena, Arkansas; one son, Forrest Tugman of Gillham; and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

No services for Mr. Tugman are planned at this time.

Mrs. Shirley Faye Baker Melton

Mrs. Shirley Faye Baker Melton, age 65, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016, in University of Arkansas Medical Center, Little Rock, Arkansas.

She was born to Jessie Lee and Elsie Leoma Robbins Baker in De Queen, Arkansas, on August 28, 1951. She was an employee of Husqvarna, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Rock Hill Baptist Church, and enjoyed reading, visiting with friends, and cherished the time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Junior Melton. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Ray Smith of Lockesburg, Debbie and Ceaser Jones of Nashville, Arkansas, five grandchildren and their spouses, Kameron and Amy Smith of Wake Village, Texas, Haylee and Chad Roberts of Redwater, Texas, Tifani Jones of Nashville, Arkansas, Elisha and Nairian Daniels of Bryant, Arkansas, and Jalon and Elizabeth Jones of Nashville, Arkansas, eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Korbin, Paisley, Isabelle, Jaylee, Brynleigh, Tinaiya, Aaliyah, and two great-grandchildren soon to be born.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Shirley Melton will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 1, 2016, inn the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Bruce Short officiating. Burial will follow in the McHorse Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, September 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Mrs. Wanda Lee Vickers Smith

Mrs. Wanda Lee Vickers Smith, age 87, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, September 24, 2016, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

She was born on November 28, 1928 in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church in De Queen.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents Douglas and Dona Gilliland Vickers; her husband, William Henry Smith and two brothers, Robert Cletus Vickers and Doyle Vickers.

She is survived by three sons, J. D. Smith of De Queen, Robert Keith Smith of Van Buren, Arkansas and Stacy Smith of Gentry, Arkansas; one daughter, Sharon Smith Miesner of Fort Smith, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Justin Smith, Shannon Sandage, William Smith and Derek Smith; three great-grandchildren, Amanda Smith Januks, Tya Smith and Morgan Smith; two great-great-grandchildren, Kaira Januks, Kenneth Matthew Januks and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2016, in the Chapel Hill Baptist Church with Keith Smith and Matthew Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 27th at the funeral home.

Sonya Kay Davignon

Mrs. Sonya Kay Davignon, age 50, a resident of Wickes, Arkansas, died Sunday, September 25, 2016, in Wickes.

She was born January 24, 1966, in De Queen, Arkansas. Sonya was a loving mother to her children and granny KK to her grandchildren. She had a natural love for doing hair, cakes, and being a homemaker.

Mrs. Davignon was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Davignon; her daughter, Kimberly Hope Simmons; her mother, Marvella Roan; and her grandparents, Woodrow and Hazel Baker and Cecil and Hattie Roan.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Nick Davis and wife Haley and Clay Davis and wife Trista; her father, Cecil Roan; her sister, Rhonda Phillips; three granddaughters, Jade Simmons, Jaicee Davis, and Delilah Davis; one grandson, River Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Private family graveside for Mrs. Davignon will be under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.
