Larry Dean Autry

Larry Dean Autry, age 69, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born July 27, 1944 in Mena, Arkansas. He was the former owner of Harris Drug Store. He graduated the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy in 1973. He was a member of the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy, past president of the Arkansas Pharmacy Association, served on the board of directors of First National Bank in De Queen, was a past member of the Sevier County Quorum Court and the Optimist Club. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in De Queen. He was a great lover of animals and contributed to the humane society.

He was preceded in death his mother, Vida Helen Parker Autry; and his siblings, Leon Bain, Lester Bain and Gene Autry.

He is survived by his wife, Lygia Carver Autry of Horatio; one daughter, Ladeana Autry Bell of Little Rock, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Brandie Wagner (Pat) Clayton of Hazen, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Kelsey Bell and two grandsons, Wes and Sam Clayton.

A memorial service for Mr. Autry will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 26,2014 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Chad Gallagher officiating.

Emma Lula Moseley Emerson

Emma Lula Moseley Emerson, age 97, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in the Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.

She was born November 24, 1916 in Grandfield, Oklahoma. She was retired after 31 years of service to the De Queen School Food Service. She enjoyed quilting, bowling, crocheting, playing cards and bingo, and working in her flower garden. She was a Collin Raye fan from the start of his career, and was a member of the Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Stella Lowrey Moseley; her husband, Earl Lowell Emerson; a son, Aubry Emerson; and two daughters, Mildred Boone and Millie Ann Stinnett.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Tony Beltrani of De Queen; a son-in-law, Harold Stinnett of De Queen; a daughter-in-law, Laura Emerson of De Queen; her grandchildren, Brenda and Danny Bennett of Texarkana, Arkansas, Doug and Jimna Stinnett of De Queen, Kathy and Kenneth Gabbard of De Queen, Patti Boone of De Queen, Tory Shipley of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Cynthia Emerson of Norman, Arkansas, Joey and Bridgett Emerson of Horatio, Arkansas, Darin Beltrani of Harrison, Arkansas, and Scott and Jodi Beltrani of St. Louis, Missouri; fourteen great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, her caregiver and special friend, Annie Maull, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emerson will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Carlton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ida Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.

Timothy Ray Fenwick

Timothy Ray Fenwick, age 61, a resident of Tyler, Texas died Monday, July 21, 2014 in Tyler.

He was born June 12, 1953 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was a Christian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Springs and Janet Nance Fenwick; and a brother, Curtis Fenwick.

He is survived by his wife, Trish Fenwick of Tyler; two sons, Aaron Fenwick of Tyler and Sam Fenwick of Mena, Arkansas; a step-daughter, Kristin Meharry of Tyler; two brothers, Mike Fenwick of Mena and Joseph Fenwick of Houston, Texas; one sister, Linda Riggins of Alma, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Lily Davidson and Olivia Meharry; his step-father, J.B. Fenwick of Alma, AR, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Fenwick will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bruce Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Grannis Cemetery.

Lois Fenton

Lois Fenton, age 94, a resident of Star City, AR and formerly of Horatio, AR died Saturday, July 19, 2014 in the Gardner Nursing Home in Star City.

She was born October 22, 1919 in Sevier County, Arkansas. She graduated from Horatio High School, worked at Casteel Grocery Store, was active in the P.T.A., loved growing lilies and iris’s and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horatio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmit Pedro and Millie Chenault Casteel; her husband, Sherman Fenton; three sons, Lynn Fenton, Bobby Fenton, and Wayne Fenton; her grandson, Nicky Fenton; and three brothers, Ed Casteel, David Casteel and Shorty Casteel.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lola and Sterling Henry of Dumas, AR; one brother, Lowell Casteel of Hot Springs Village, AR; one sister, Mildred Billingsley of Texas; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Fenton will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in the Horatio Cemetery with Dr. Tandy Hanson officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at the funeral home.

David Wayne Scarbrough

David Wayne Scarbrough, a native of Texas City, TX and resident of Baton Rouge, passes away July 14, 2014 at the Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly wing at the age of 52.

He is survived by his wife Lisa kay Sparks, his parents John W. and Nora B. Scarbrough, daughter, Kayli M. Scarbrough, son Aron Dakota Scarbrough, brother lester Mark Scarbrough and wife Cindy, two grandchildren; David Jacob DeShazo, Ayden Reese David, niece Erica Scarbrough, nephew Mike Scarbrough and wife Kristen, three great nephews, and 1 great niece.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Seale Funeral Home, in Denham Springs, on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 6:00PM, conducted by Rev. Car Rushing. A gathering will resume after the service until 8:00PM.

Mrs. Ivie Mae Howard Forrest

Mrs. Ivie Mae Howard Forrest, age 69, a resident of Winthrop, Arkansas, died Monday, July 14th at her home from a long battle with cancer.

She was born in St. Lawrence County, Arkansas, on July 31, 1944. She was a former employee of the Rubber Corporation, and Pilgrim’s Pride, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended both the Church of Christ and the First Baptist Church of Winthrop. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan, and enjoyed fishing, and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Millie Espy, a son, Ronnie Lee Forrest, and a grandchild, John Luke Shomo.

She is survived by her husband of over 48 years, Steve “Lightening” Forrest of Winthrop,a daughter, Mary Beth Forrest of Winthrop, a grandson, Matthew Forrest Lee of Winthrop, a granddaughter, Maycee Brooke Shomo of Winthrop, two brothers-in-law, Roy and his wife, Johnnie Lou Forrest of Winthrop, and Donald “Buckwheat” Forrest of Idabel, Okla., special friends, Anita Click, Jan Wade, and Bethel Dossett, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ivie Forrest will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, in the First Baptist Church of Winthrop with Bro. Audie Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery, Winthrop, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family Will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 16th from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M.

Mrs. Joan Emily Short Kiser

Mrs. Joan Emily Short Kiser, age 77, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, July 10, 2014 in the Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas.

She was born to Edward L. and Alvera Rosalee Lucas Short in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on September 24, 1936. She was an Army wife and mother, and was a member of the Lutheran Church. She was a member of the AARP, Local #2078, where she served as secretary-treasurer for many years. She loved family and was very knowledgeable in family ancestry. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and history. Joan had a special love for all animals.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Edward Short, Charles Lantz, Arlene Randazzi, and Barbara Short, and her husband of over 58 years, Billy Kiser.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, GayLynn Kiser of Austin, Texas, and Jennifer and Bobby Bagley of De Queen, a granddaughter, Chrystal Morgan Sweeden of De Queen, a special friend, Amy Ragle of De Queen, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Joan Kiser will be held at 10:00 A.M., Sunday, July 13th in Redmen Cemetery with Rev. Shane Haarmeyer officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
