Mr. Michael William Miller

Mr. Michael William Miller, age 71, a resident of Lockesburg, died Monday, June 16, 2014, in Christus St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana, Texas.

He was born to Stanley James and Ethel Blake Miller in Haslett, Michigan on April 16, 1943. He was a retired truck driver, having driven for McKnight Trucking. He was a Catholic, and enjoyed collecting and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Dot Prohn Miller of Lockesburg, two sons, Billy Jack Miller and Michael Miller, Jr., both of Lockesburg, a daughter, April Miller of Lockesburg, a brother, Stanley James Miller of Mena, Arkansas, as well as other family members, and a host of friends.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Michael Miller will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 20th in the Coulter Memorial Gardens, Lockesburg, AR., with Rev. Jack Gilliland officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen

Mr. Orvill Carl Huggins

Mr. Orvill Carl Huggins, age 95, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 in Heber Springs, Arkansas.

He was born July 16, 1918 in Glenwood, Arkansas. He loved horses and worked on a local ranch until he was over eighty years old. He enjoyed dancing and growing a garden. He was a World War II veteran having served in the South Pacific and was a member of the Green’s Chapel Methodist Church.

Mr. Huggins was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine “Jerri” Harris Huggins and his parents, Jess and Victoria Coffman Huggins.

He is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy Miller and Roy of Hyde Park, Utah, Carolyn Devasier and Ken of Roseburg, Oregon, Vicki Springstead and Mike of Eugene, Oregon, Nancy Lytsell and Roy of Myrtle Creek, Oregon and Shelly Strasner and Hal of Umpire, Arkansas; sixteen grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren, twenty-four great-great grandchildren and three sisters.

Funeral Services for Mr. Huggins will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the Green’s Chapel Methodist Church near Dierks with Bro. Carrol Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Green’s Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 17th at the Dierks Chapel.

Mrs. Vera Beatrice Kitchens Arnold

Mrs. Vera Beatrice Kitchens Arnold, age 98, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 15, 2014.

She was born May 19, 1916, in the Liberty Hill Community North of Dierks to Thomas Henry and Emma Frances Jones Kitchens. She was a housewife and a member of the Community of Christ Church. Known to her family as “Mawmaw”, she loved to fish, hunt, quilt, and always had a dip of snuff. She was always an avid Razorback fan.

Mrs. Arnold was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jeff Davis Arnold; a son, Roger Arnold; seven brothers and four sisters and two sons-in-law, Jewel Cogburn and Coy J. Parker.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Wilma Cogburn and Jeffie and Sam Roth; a son and daughter-in-law, Granvel Johnny and Roxie Arnold all of Dierks and a daughter-in-law, Leah Arnold of Nashville, Arkansas. Mawmaw had 14 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 74 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Arnold will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks, with Leah Arnold, Johnny Arnold and Richard Leach officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery near Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, June 16th at the funeral home in Dierks.

Flora Faye Faulkner

Flora Faye Faulkner, age 88, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Friday, June 13, 2014 in the Dierks Health and Rehab.

She was born July 7, 1925 in Provo, Arkansas. She was a former employee of Nashville Jewelry and Gifts and was a member of the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks.

Flora was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Rosie Power Faulkner; three brothers, Hercel, Addie and George Faulkner and one sister, Eunice Compton.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Louise Faulkner Goodson, Mary Ann Faulkner Gibson, Jimmy Ray Faulkner, Jerry Lynn Compton, Gloria Jean Compton and Ellen Faulkner Samuelson.

Funeral Services for Flora will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014, at the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks with Glen Green and Clyde Mitchell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery in Nashville, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 15th at the church.

Billie Jean Hubbard Mize

Mrs. Billie Jean Hubbard Mize, age 82, a lifelong resident of Ben Lomond, Arkansas, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in Little River Memorial Hospital in Ashdown, Arkansas.

She was born August 9, 1931 in Ben Lomond. She was the former owner of Ben Lomond Tax Service and a member of the Ben Lomond United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Mize was preceded in death by her mother, Christine Hubbard Holcomb; her husband, James E. Mize, Jr. and her grandparents, Luna and Robert Hubbard.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Lucy Mize of Ben Lomond, AR; one daughter; Jeanne Vaughan of Texarkana, TX; one sister, Gladys Barba of California; two grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Amanda Mize and Melinda and Dylan Hays and three great-grandchildren, Jackson Bannister, Hunter Mize and Kolter Mize.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mize will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Ben Lomond with Ronnie Smith and Rev. Mike Mize officiating. Burial will follow in the Ben Lomond Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 15th at First United Methodist Church in Ben Lomond.

Rebecca Lynn Holland

Mrs. Rebecca Lynn Holland, age 44, a resident of Hartford, Arkansas, died Wednesday, June 11th in De Queen, Arkansas.

She was born to James Edward Whitaker and Ima Delilah Howard in Hot Springs, Arkansas on April 27, 1970. She was in retail management with E-Z Mart, and enjoyed reading and her children.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Neese.

She is survived by her loving partner, Danny Lesperance of Hartford, Arkansas; two sons, Johnny Ray Holland, Jr. of Hartford, Arkansas and Ryan Cunningham of Lockesburg, Arkansas; two daughters, Christa Holland and precious Holland both of Hartford, Arkansas; her mother, Ima Howard of De Queen; her father and other-mother James and Becky Whitaker of Cabot, Arkansas; her children's father Johnny Ray Holland of Valliant, Oklahoma; five brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert Cunningham of Lockesburg, Arkansas, Shawn and Kelly Whitaker of Haskell, Arkansas, Christopher Whitaker, Scott Whitaker and Timmy and Carly Whitaker, all of Cabot, Arkansas; a sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Mark Vick of De Queen. She is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Mrs. Rebecca Holland will be held on Saturday, June 21st in the Chapel Hill Cemetery with Bro. Billy Foster officiating. Cremation under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Betty Lynn Jones Rolfe

Mrs. Betty Lynn Jones Rolfe, age 60, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in Christus St. Michael Drive, Texarkana, Texas.

She was born to Jack Randolph and Wilma Lee Johnson Jones in Texarkana, Arkansas, on November 27, 1953. She attended the Williamson Community Church, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband of over 30 years, John Rolfe of Horatio, a son, Neal Rolfe of Horatio, three daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer Rolfe, Lynette and John Hanley and Crystal and Clayton Gipson all of Horatio, her mother and step-father, Wilma and Tom Jewkes of De Queen, a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Lori Jones of California, a sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Morris Wilemon of De Queen, six grandchildren, Allen, Amber, Haley, Jonathan, Joseph, and Adam, all of Horatio, Arkansas. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews as well as other family members and a host of friends.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Betty Rolfe are pending at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
