Morris Troy McDonald

Morris Troy McDonald, age 77, of Stamps, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at his residence. He was born December 6, 1931 in DeSota Parish, Louisiana. Mr. McDonald was a retired welder, member of the National Rifle Association, Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, a Mason, member of the Moose Lodge and VFW in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Rayburn McDonald and Alabama Norwood McDonald and by a brother, Vernon McDonald.

He is survived by: his wife, Edna Faye McDonald of Stamps; three sons, Rick & Rhonda McDonald of Haughton, LA, Michael Troy McDonald of Alabama and Jeff & Pat McDonald of Missouri; two daughters, Sarah Nell & Jeff Craig of Mansfield, LA and Deborah Sue & Norvell Stengel of Arnold, MO; step-daughter, Kelly Gray of Mesa, AZ; brother, Ray & Pauline McDonald of Haughton, LA; sisters, Willie Faye Mayfield of Mansfield, LA and Ferri & Marcus Pilgreen of Shreveport; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with Chaplain David Smith officiating.

Dorothy Stevens Donahoe

Dorothy Stevens Donahoe, age 79, of Stamps, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born February 12, 1930 in Stamps. Mrs. Donahoe was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church where she taught the Beginner's Sunday School Class for 28 years. She was a homemaker and retired from Southern Central Telephone Company. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Stevens, Sr. & Laura Stevens, son James Cleveland, and daughter, Barbara Allen.

She is survived by: her husband, Bill Donahoe of Stamps; daughter, Terri Willis & husband Alan of Stamps; two step-daughters, Sue Lance of Harrison, AR and Jeannie Schrier of Dickson, TN; son-in-law, Mac Allen of Stamps; Brother, Jim H. Stevens, Jr., of Stamps; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Willis, Jamie Willis, Glenda Smith, Dana Downs, Tammy Yates, Tina Downs, Christina Jackson and Billy Don Schrier; eighteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Rev. W.D. Smith and Rev. Ernie Sorrells officiating and burial in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Helen M. McClendon

Helen Marie Clifton McClendon, 89, of Rogers went to be with Jesus May 4, 2009. She was born January 14, 1920 in Lee County, Arkansas to Lillian Evans and Walter Clifton. She was married to Jack McClendon March 27, 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son, Jack Robey McClendon.

She is survived by: one brother, Marion Burdue of Ava, MO; two daughters, Sue Fowler of High Point, NC and Nancy Westfall of Rogers; one son, John McClendon of Springfield, MO; daughter-in-law, Patricia Parks McClendon; and fifty-eight grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with Burial following at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville.

LaDonna Ann Fitzgerald

LaDonna Ann Fitzgerald, age 76, of Stamps, Arkansas died on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Homestead Manor Nursing Home in Stamps. She was born May 19, 1932 to the late Diamond Farr and Jewell Fitzgerald in Laneburg, Arkansas. She was a retired Sales Clerk and attended the Apostolic Faith Church in Lewisville, Arkansas for many years. She was a faithful, strong, godly lady who loved to worship the Lord.

She is survived by: her husband, Lavelle Fitzgerald of Stamps; one son & daughter-in-law, Charles William and Amanda Fitzgerald of Leawood, KS; five grandchildren, Kathy Logan of Magnolia, AR, LaDonna Harrell & husband Blake of Magnolia, Temple Foreman & wife Amanda of Mena, AR and Krystalle Lawrence & husband Matt of Stamps; six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with Rev. Cledus Don Fitzgerald, Rev. Buddy Chisolm, Rev. Wilburn Wesson, James Roberts and Roy Magee officiating with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery south of Stamps under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Vernell McEachern

Vernell McEachern, age 78, of Taylor, Arkansas died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the Dubuis Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born August 16, 1939 in Stamps, Arkansas. Mrs. McEachern was a homemaker and a member of the Landmark Baptist Church at Taylor and was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mallie Glass.

She is survived by: her husband, Darnell McEachern of Taylor; daughters, Pam Kennemer of Taylor and Shelah Lloyd of Sarepta, LA; sister, Hazel Stephens of Stamps; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Landmark Baptist Church with Rev. Cleo Paul officiating and burial in Sharman Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

William Holden Daugherty

William Holden Daugherty, age 21, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 in Lafayette County, Arkansas. He was born March 17, 1987 in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Daugherty was employed with B&D; Electric of Stamps and was an avid hunter, fisher and enjoyed being with his friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gale and Betty Daugherty.

He is survived by: his mother, Laura Alexander Brady of Lewisville; father & step-mother, Billy Bob and Mary Daugherty of Lewisville; grandparents, Jimmy and Kay Alexander of Lewisville; great grandmother, Ruby McClure of Lewisville; brother, Lucas Brady of Lewisville; sisters, Tamara Willett of Gentry, AR and Alisha Daugherty of Panama City, FL; close family members, Amanda Bolinger, Aaron Bolinger, Brooke Bolinger, Emma Bolinger, Jamie Alexander, Gayla Teague, Clifford Teague, Dena Teague, Betsy Teague, Brian Teague and Phillip Teague; special friend and the love of his life, Krista Williamson; special friend, Tom Brady.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with Rev. Todd Pickard officiating and Rev. Mike Turner officiating with burial in Wilson Cemetery at Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Charles Hamm

Charles Hamm, age 69, of Taylor, Arkansas died Sunday, November 30, 2008 at the Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born June 29, 1939 in Stamps, Arkansas. Mr. Hamm was a retired farmer, a member of the Forest Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee C. "Bogey" Bethany and Exa Bright Hamm Bethany.

He is survived by: his wife, Linda Hamm of Taylor; three daughters, Laura Kelli Hamm Maxwell of Taylor, Karla Ann Hamm Wilson of Magnolia, AR, and Karmen LeAnn Hamm Hall of Benton, LA; well beloved sons-in-law, Roger Maxwell of Taylor, Jay Wilson of Magnolia and Ronnie Hall of Benton; six grandchildren, Kortni Cook of Taylor, Chase Wallace of Shreveport, LA, Tessa McCloy of Magnolia, Kaylie Wolf of Magnolia, Jordan Lamb of Benton and Tory Maxwell of Taylor.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with Bro. Jesse Beene officiating and birual in Forest Grove Cemetery at Walker Creek, Arkansas under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Zelma Marie West

Zelma Marie West, age 86, of Garland City, Arkansas died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at her residence. She was born July 5, 1922 in Garland Township, Miller County, Arkansas. Mrs. West was a retired restaurant owner and a member of the Garland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl West in 1984.

She is survived by: a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley & Charles Eddy of Fouke, AR; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ralph & Becky West of Garland and Earl West of Texarkana, TX; sister, Annette Phillips of Texarkana, AR; grandchildren, Steve Eddy & wife Annette of Fouke, Joy Sarto & husband Scott of Texarkana, AR, David Eddy & wife Kris of Fouke, Chris West & wife Natalie of Texarkana, TX, Stacey O'Donnell & husband Sam of Magnolia, AR, and Melissa Strickland & husband Shawn of Magnolia; twelve great-grandchildren; special niece, Chun Cha Arnold of Garland; several other nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 21, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, Arkansas with Rev. Phelan Boone officiating and burial in Holly Springs Cemetery in Miller County, Arkansas under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
