Frank Scott
Frank Niels Scott, 80, of Van Buren, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a Navy submarine veteran of World War II, a Pearl Harbor survivor, member of the Fleet Reserve Association, member of the Enlisted Association, a 50 year member of the Pythagoras Lodge of Masons, Old Lyme Connecticut and employed by General Dynamics Electric Boat Division as a purchasing agent for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Harriett Scott; one daughter, Susan Maxon of Questa, N.M.; two sons, Stephen Scott of Alexandria, Va., and Stanley Scott of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; one brother, Wilburn Scott of Byron, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
The body will be cremated under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Jean McKisson
Jean L. “Mimi” McKisson, 75, of Van Buren, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002. She was a member of the Van Buren First Baptist Church and was retired from Whirlpool. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theron.
Survivors include three daughters, Sherri Gentry of Van Buren, Jan Lockhart of Rudy and Patti Hill of Figure Five; five sisters, Betty Roberson of Van Buren, Ann Moore of Oshkosh, Wis., Faye Kennedy and Ima Rogers, both of Peoria, Ill., and Ruby Baldwin of Beaumont, Calif.; two brothers, Cecil Lollis of Van Buren and O.D. Lollis of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren, Tom, Gina, Jennifer, Shane, Christy, Matthew and Linda; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Memorial Chapel under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 1604 Merrill Drive, Suite D, Little Rock, AR 72211.

George Haggard III
George W. Haggard III, 92, of Van Buren, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a musician and a published song writer, member of Wood Memorial Christian Church, Army veteran of World War II having been stationed in the Mid-East and Iran and a member of the VFW #1322.
Survivors include one sister, Pearl Bray of Van Buren; two brothers, Garth W. Haggard and Jack Haggard, both of Tulsa and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Feb. 8 at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial was held at Uniontown Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Honorary pallbearers were his nephews.

Karen Bogner
Karen Sue Bogner, 61, of Van Buren, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002. She was a resident of Van Buren since 1969, a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, member of the Church Alter Society, a life member of the Van Buren PTSA, co-owner of Bogner's Lawn Mower Shop and a former employee of the Van Buren High School.
Survivors include her husband, Arnold; three daughters, Debbie Moore, Deena Dunn and Tonia Fry, all of Van Buren; one son, Terry Bogner of Van Buren; one brother, Gene Gaut of Dodge City, Kan., three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Feb. 9 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Danny Moore, Paul Dunn, Bryan Fry, Paul Lehnen, Michael Klober and John Riggs.

Annie Paschall
Annie Elizabeth Paschall, 77, of Alma, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at a local nursing. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Archie.
Funeral service was held Feb. 11 at Woodlawn Mausoleum Chapel. Burial was at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Survivors include three daughters, Ann Wangler and Marylan Smoak, both of Alma, and Virginia Reyes of Oxnard, Calif.; three sons, John Thomas Paschall of Alma, Harold Paschall and Archie Dean Paschall, both of Oxnard, Calif.; two sisters, Marie Knoblock of Star City and Virginia Wilson of Monticello; two brothers, Archie Harrison of Bastrop, La., and Raymond Harrison of Lubbock, Texas; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were David Smoak, Jeff Weatherman, Nathan Thomas and Billy Wade Paschall, Eric Robins and Merle Barenberg.

Danny Rickman
Danny Earl Rickman, 52, of Alma, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001. He was a member of the Dean Springs Church of Christ, owner of Rickman Heating and Air and was a member of the Air National Guard for 11 years.
Survivors include his wife, Alma; two daughters, Tasha D. Rickman and Trisha D. Rickman; his parents, Thomas and Fannie Rickman of Alma; and two sisters, Pat Meadors and Debbie Valentine, both of Alma.
Funeral service was held Dec. 31 at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Burial was held at Mt. McCurry Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Rocky Walker, Joey Butler, Dave Lovegrove, Johnny Howard, Guy Dean Jr. and John Callahan.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob Ross, John Warner, Bruce Coleman, Phil Smith, Howard Holland and Bobby Pinkerton.

Mary Frazier
Mary K. Frazier, 72, of Van Buren, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001. She was a homemaker and was retired from Allen Canning Co. in Alma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie “Doc” Frazier.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Vickie Hooper of Alma and Frances Hooten of Fayetteville; two stepsons, Alvie Frazier of Dyer and James Frazier of Alma; eight sisters, Patsy Kosier, Betty Kerschner, Allene Wiley, Thelma Beckham and Peggy Rogers, all of Alma, Carol Skelton of Rudy, Velma Carter of Mountainburg and Helen Felps of Fort Smith; and three brothers, Joe Willhite, Don Willhite and Ikey Willhite, all of Alma.
Funeral service was held Dec. 31 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was held at Gregory Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren
Pallbearers were James Frazier, Wayne Bush, Rodney Beckham, Gary Carter, John Willhite and Scotty Stockton.

Dr. Robert Calaway
Dr. Robert L. Calaway, M.D., 86, of Alma, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at a local nursing home. He was a retired medical doctor and held a private practice in Mulberry for many years. He served in the Army and coached basketball at Lyon College in Batesville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jayne Branch Calaway.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Phillips of Fayetteville, Camille Anderson of Batesville and Patricia Walden of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Robert Calaway Jr. of Alma and Paul Calaway of Denver; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandsons.
Graveside service was held Jan. 5 at Alma Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
