Geneva Vinsett
Geneva Miller Vinsett, 83, of Van Buren, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred.
Survivors include two sisters, Lillian Allen of Van Buren and Velva Parks of Newport News, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was held May 20 at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Bill Vickery, Bob Oliver, Jim Sargent, J.R. Young, Tom Talley and Dr. J.C. Hubbs.
Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Foundation or the Heart Fund.

Donnie Friddle
Donnie Friddle, 54, of Chester, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002. He was a heavy equipment operator for James Cape & Sons Construction.
Survivors include his wife, Leah; three daughters, Christina Friddle of Newport Richie, Fla., Monica Hornback of Carthage, Mo., and Heather Michelle Friddle of Red Bluff, Calif.; two sons, Christopher Daniel Friddle of Red Bluff, Calif., and Daniel Ray Friddle; two sisters, Wanda Baldwin and Dorothy Payne, both of Chester; a brother, Raymond Friddle of Morristown, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
The body was cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

David Partain
David Owen Partain, 82, of Van Buren, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a member of the Van Buren First Presbyterian Church and was a former attorney and circuit judge. He was first elected prosecuting attorney of the 15th Judicial District in January 1947. He was later elected Van Buren city attorney in 1957 and was circuit judge of the 15th and 12th Judicial Districts from 1971 until he retired in 1986. He was admitted to practice law before the Arkansas and Unites States Supreme Court. He was also an Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Van Buren Masonic Lodge and the Western Arkansas Consistory. He was past president of the Van Buren Rotary Club and a member of the Arkansas and Crawford County Bar Associations. He was a charter member of the Gracelawn Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Norma; one daughter, Paige Zelikow of Charlottesville, Va.; one granddaughter, Carolyn Zelikow of Charlottesville; and one grandson, Alex Zelikow of Charlottesville.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial will be held at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Wylie Brewer, Paul Gant, Finis Batchelor Jr., Judge Gary Cottrell, Judge Floyd G. Rogers and Mike Medlock.
Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Holder, J.C. Hubbs, Doug Smtih, Charles Ledbetter, Eddie Christian, Bradley Jesson, J.B. Garrison, David Ferguson, Judge John G. Holland, Judge Warren O. Kimbrough, Judge Robert Dawson, N.D. Edwards, Robert L. Jones Jr., Earl Summerhill, Worman Owens and Clyde Hawkins.

Virginia Piercefield
Virginia Piercefield, 77, of Alma, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at a local hospital. She was formerly of Mulberry and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was the widow of Albert Piercefield.
Graveside service was held March 27 at New Cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by a son, Gary Dale Piercefield of Dermott; a brother, Russell Napier of Ozark; and three grandsons, Chancey Piercefield of Mountainburg and Justin and Joshua Piercefield, both of Mulberry.

Summer Lovette
Summer Dawn Lovette, 19, of Van Buren, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, where she was stage manager and a member of Quest, a graduate of Van Buren High School class of 2001 and a member of the National Honor Society, 4-H and King Opera House’s John Doe Theater Group.
Memorial service was held March 22 at Harvest Time Tabernacle. The body was cremated under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by adoptive parents, Floyd “Buddy” and Jeannette Lovette of Van Buren and birth parents, Kelly Smith of Van Buren and Harold Overmyer of Winslow; three sisters, Kimberly Phillips and Michelle Lovette, both of Van Buren, and Katherine Blair of Rock Island; and a brother, J.W. Smith of Van Buren.

Wilma Rogers
Wilma Jean Rogers, 72, of Van Buren, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, in Conway. She was a member of Van Buren First Baptist Church and a retired secretary for the church. She was the widow of Edward Lee Rogers.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Baker of Ben Kulu, Indonesia, and Janet Tracey of McKinney, Texas; two sons, Paul Rogers and David Rogers, both of Conway; her mother, Bessie Lonsbury of Van Buren; three sisters, Barbara Hutchinson of Fort Smith, Helen McIntyre of Farmers Branch, Texas, and Margie Clinkenbeard of Waukesha, Wis.; a brother, George Lonsbury Jr. of Idaho; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial service was held March 23 at First Baptist Church in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Baptist Foreign Mission Board, c/o Van Buren First Baptist Church, 1121 E. Main St., Van Buren, AR 72956 or the Boy Scouts of America, 1401 S. 31st St., Fort Smith, AR.

James Garrett
James Edward Garrett, 75, of Van Buren, died Friday, March 22, 2002. He was a disabled Army and Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a member of Cedarville Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Franklin of Van Buren; two sons, Dickie Ray Garrett and Danny M. Garrett, both of Van Buren; two sisters, Betty Chapman of Cedarville and Joyce Upton of Marysville, Calif.; four brothers, Bill Garrett of Van Buren, Paul Garrett and Johnnie Garrett, both of Cedarville, and Robert Garrett of Alma; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held March 25 at Ocker Memorial Chapel of Van Buren. Burial was at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were be his grandsons, Dickie Garrett Jr., Nick Garrett, Eli Garrett, Aaron Newell, Jessie Murphy, Travis Prescott, Danny Berg and Bo Cherry.

Mary Heim
Mary Mae Heim, 84, of Van Buren, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a retired employee of the Boston Store and Phoenix Fashions.
Survivors include one sister, Sylvia Dodd of Van Buren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Dodd, Donnie Dodd, Marty Dodd, Brandon Dodd, Cliff Hall and Brad Hall.
