Benham James
Benham D. James, 84, of Mulberry, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at a hospital. He was a member of the Assembly of God in Mulberry, Army veteran of World War II and retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; three daughters, Shirley Tweedy and Lavern Davis, both of Mulberry, and Frances Roe of Barling; a sister, Louise Brant of Bartlesville; two brothers, Jack and Claudie, both of Mulberry; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service with military honors was held Oct. 22 at the Assembly of God in Mulberry with burial at New Cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were Keith, Kent and Kendall Moore, Heath and Aaron Roe and Barry James.

Lydia Fine
Lydia B. Fine, 96, of Mountainburg, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at a local hospital. She was born Oct. 21, 1905, in Turner community in Crawford County. She was a homemaker, a member of Pigeon Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Mountainburg, a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star and was affiliated with Melody Chapter No. 579. She was the widow of J.C. Fine.
She is survived by a stepson, Jim Fine of Jenks, Okla.; six nieces, Betty Morgan, Rosella Smith, Glenda Smith, Drucilla Oliver, Twyla Sims and Lydia Lee Johnson; five nephews, Bill, Monroe and Vernal Barker, Keith and Glenn Alsip; and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral was held Oct. 21 at Pigeon Creek Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Pope Cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were David Morgan, John Paul Smith, Gary Marshall, Larry Goodner, Butch Thomas and James Smith.

Kevin Leakey
Kevin Lee Leakey, 23, of Dyer, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, in Ozark. He was an electrician for Cool Breeze..
He is survived by his companion, Amber Arron of Dyer; stepdaughter, Harley Joe Arron of Dyer; one stepson, Skyler “Baby Duck” Arron of Dyer; his mother, Vickie Leakey of Altus, his father and stepmother, Rick and Hope Leakey of Dyer; a sister, Rachel Lopez of Dyer; two brothers, Harley Daniel Leakey of Dyer and Ricky Leakey of Clarksville; paternal grandmother, Cuba Leakey of Dyer; maternal grandmother, Mable Vick of Altus; maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Clayton and Bessie Vick of Yancyville, N.C.
Funeral service was held Oct. 19 at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma. The body was cremated

Curtis Ridenour
Curtis Ridenour, 67, of Rudy, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a locomotive engineer for Frisco Railroad and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Masonic Lodge No. 439 Fine Springs and Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife Sharon; five sons, Harry Ridenour and Jerry Ridenour, both of Rudy, Neal Ridenour of Uniontown, Reid Ridenour of Alma and Billy Ridenour of Fort Smith; a sister, Louise Gilmore of Nuevo, Calif.; a brother. Dexter Ridenour of Richmond, Va.; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Nov. 6 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel with burial at Mount McCurry Cemetery in Rudy.
Pallbearers were Henry Howard, Tommy Leverette, Leon Brammer, Barry Teague, Johnny Mizell and Alan Arnold. Honorary pallbearers were former workers of the Frisco Railroad and members of the Masonic Lodge No. 439 Fine Springs.

Trissie Wiley
Trissie Inez Wiley, 83, of Mulberry, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a member of Vine Prairie Baptist Church in Mulberry, attended the Mulberry Senior Inn and was a homemaker. She was the widow of Vestes Elmo Wiley.
Survivors include one son, Charles Elmer Wiley of Mulberry; one brother, Earl F. Hale of DeKalb, Texas; one step-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Nov. 6 at Vine Prairie Baptist Church in Mulberry. Burial was at New Cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were Bill Cagle, Chester Fisher, Hoyt Lancaster, Tory Smith, Rogers Edwards and Chris Marion. Honorary pallbearers were James Hawkins, Sam House and J.C. McCollum.

Carl Wiley
Carl Duane Wiley, 59, of Stafford, Va., died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002. He was a Navy veteran and a retired Union carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; a daughter, Shannon Wiley of Stafford, Va.; three sons, Lonnie Wiley of Leesburg, Va., Dirk Wiley of Shermans Dale, Pa., and Scott Wiley of Stafford, Va.; his stepfather, Thomas Flynn of Stafford, Va., and stepmother, Maxine Wiley of Natural Dam; four sisters, Ida Mason, Ruth Grey and Doris Mankins, all of Natural Dam, and Louise Hallman of Cedarville; four brothers, Robert “Bo” and Earl Wiley, both of Natural Dam, Dennis Wiley of Tulsa and James Morehouse of Woodbridge, Va.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Aug. 17 at Grandview Assembly of God in Natural Dam. Burial was at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Ollie Jerden
Ollie Jerden, 93, of Van Buren, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at a local nursing home. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired self-employed farmer, worked for Arkhola Sand & Gravel, Holiday Foods and OK Food all in Van Buren and Bryant Preserving in Alma, a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church and the VFW Robert Jack Post No. 1322. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary.
Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Holiman of Magazine, Georgia Bowlin of Catcher community and Theda June O’Kelly of Van Buren; a son, Bill Jerden of Van Buren; a brother, John Jerdon of Mineola, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Services are pending. The body will be cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Missionary Baptist Church, B.D.R. Fire Department or charity of donor’s choice.

Rebecca Wornkey
Rebecca Lynn Wornkey, 42, of Van Buren, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002. She was a 1978 graduate of Alma High School and an employee of Spark Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Michael; a daughter, Myra Wornkey of the home; her mother, Olena Harris of Van Buren; two sisters, Paula Gordon and Mary Arthur, both of Van Buren; and three brothers, Jimmy Harris of Fort Smith, John and Ron Harris, both of Van Buren.
Funeral service was held Aug. 20 at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Burial was held at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Ed, John and Arch Wornkey, Larry Gordon, Jim and John Harris.
