Alma Joyce Rowland
Alma Joyce Rowland, 49, formerly of Rector, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Survivors include a daughter, Lerin Rowland of Kennett; her longtime companion, Charles Lasswell of Kennett; her mother, Thelma (Settlemire) Bridwell of Imboden; her father, Norman Galloway of Calico Rock; four half-brothers, Gene Galloway of Kennett, Wayne, Glenn and Eugene Galloway, all of Calico Rock; two half-sisters, Darlene and Debbie Galloway of Calico Rock, and many relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held Sunday, Nov. 18, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett.

Sally Laxton Banning
Sally Laxton Banning, 79, of Rector died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Arkansas Hospice Center in North Little Rock.
Born April 23, 1922, in Hohenwald, Tenn., to the late Eugene Williams and Mernevy Williams, she was a homemaker and
of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Keiffer Laxton and Henry S. Banning; one son, Gary R. Laxton; one daughter,
Shirley Ann Laxton; eight brothers, four sisters, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Survivors include four sons, John H. Laxton and David Laxton, both of Rector, and James Laxton and Roy Laxton, both of
Batesville; one daughter, Esther Simmons of Rector; three brothers, Jack Williams of Hohenwald, Tenn., Bill Williams
and Paul Williams, both of Fulton, Ky., 25 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and several step children and foster
children.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Hargrave Evangelical Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Dustman officiating.
Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.

Floyd Strong
Floyd Strong, 87, of St. Francis died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at his home.
He was born Oct. 20, 1913, in Holcomb, the son of the late Elmer and Isabelle Barker Strong.
He marriage Moria Pinkston on March 10, 1934, in Clay County.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Moria; two sons, Clifford Strong of Dearborn, Mich., and Ronald Strong of Muskegon, Mich.;
one daughter, Stella Bledsoe of Piggott; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and
other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday (today) in Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott with Bro. O.H. Brooks officiating.
Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery near St. Francis with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Neely Stinebrook, Cleveland Daffron, Gillis Neeley, Delbert Hughes, Clyde Pinkston, and James Ellis.
