Gary Knoernschild

Rev. Gary Knoernschild of Kelowna, AB, formerly of Lutherville, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004.

He was a 1950 graduate of Lamar High School, pastor for 39 years, and was preceded in death by infant twin sons, Brian and Brett Knoernschild in 1976.

Survivors include his wife, Verna Knoernschild; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Keith Reisdord and Janet and Gary Brucker; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Edwin and Iona Knoernschild of Missouri, Al and Sandy Knoernschild of Indiana, Richard and Beverly Knoernschild and Leo and Sharon Knoernschild, all of Lutherville, David and Christine Knoernschild of Tennessee and Melvin and Sandy Knoernschild of Arkansas; one sister, Ruby Stroup of Arkansas; six grandchildren, Hannah, Madeline and Ava Reisdord and Erin, Natalie and Claire Brucker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral was Wednesday, Nov. 10, at First Lutheran Church in Kelowna, AB. Burial was on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Medicine Hat, AB.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Christian School, First Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or Lutheran Hour Ministries.

Martha B. Willis

Martha Beard Willis, 81, of Clarksville died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.

She was a native of Lonoke, daughter of the late Routh A. and Sallie L. Beard, widow of James P. Willis, former resident of Pine Bluff prior to moving to Clarksville in 2001, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville and Pine Bluff.

Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Sutterfield of Clarksville and Cynthia McGrew of Fort Smith; one son, Michael B. Willis of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at Graceland cemetery with Rev. Charles Settle officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors of Pine Bluff.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Chad H. Sage

Chad Hylton Sage, 32, of Coal Hill died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at his home.

He was a native of Clarksville and was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Hylton, and grandfather, Russell Curtis.

He is survived by one son, Jeffery Butler of Coal Hill; mother and stepfather, Kathey and Lynn Day of Coal Hill; grandparent, Betty Curtis of Clarksville; eight sisters, Chrissy Holt, Leann Atchison, Chandra Churb, Kaitlin Hylton, Jessica Powers and Brittany Vaught, all of Clarksville, Anna Mona of San Diego, Calif., and Deb Graham of Ozark; and five brothers, Adam Sage of Hartman, Eric Sage of Clarksville, Jimmie Hylton of Russellville, Roy Day of Ozark, and Kevin Christon of Indiana.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Sanders officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery.

Pallbearers were Paul Karns, Shawn Bramucci, Bobby Willison, Mark Leding, David Ming, and Roy Day.

Jay M. Dlugosh

Jay M. Dlugosh, 28, of Fort Smith, formerly of Clarksville, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, in Fort Smith.

He was a 1995 graduate of Clarksville High School, a 1999 graduate of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville with a bachelor of science degree in business management, and was employed in sales.

Survivors include his parents, Maxie and Marsha Dlugosh of Clarksville; grandparents, Marshall and Willene Mothersbaugh and Iris Terry; one brother, Mike Dlugosh of Monroe, La.; and girl friend, Tracy Tarvin.

Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at the Harmony cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Bernie Magby, Brian Taylor, Daniel Wall, John Magby, James Muldoon and James Farrow.

Karen E. Walker

Karen Elaine Howard Walker, 52, of Benton, daughter of Jack K. Howard of Clarksville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton.

She was a native of Dallas, Texas, and was preceded in death by her mother, Christine Howard, and one grandson, Brian Lee White.

Other survivors include her husband, Walter L. Walker; four daughters, Tahirih Holcomb, Stephanie Brown, Christina Mancias and Susie Nichols, all of Benton; three stepdaughters, Jennifer Walker of Benton, Michelle Adams of Hood River, Ore., and Kathleen Walker of Boise, Idaho; one sister, Glenda Alianell of Garland, Texas; three brothers, John Alianell of Nevada, Texas, Steve Howard of Mesquite, Texas, and Michael Howard of Jefferson; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Borel officiating. Burial was in Coal Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Howard, Steve Howard, Raymond Hyatt, Brian Holcomb, Walter Walker, and Michael Howard Jr.

Leonard Lindstad

Leonard Lindstad, 83, of Lamar died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at his home.

He was a native of Groton, S. D., son of the late Peter Iverson and Pauline A. Erickson Lindstad, Army veteran of World War II, Lutheran, and a retired mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Johnson Lindstad; 11 stepchildren; and three sisters.

Funeral and burial will be in Austin, Texas.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Letty I. Whitkanack

Letty Irene Whitkanack, 101, of Sultan, Wash., died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at her home.

A native of Darwin, Ill., she was a daughter of the late George and Emma Heleine, widow of Virgil Whitkanack, and was preceded in death by one son, Max Whitkanack; one grandson, Jim; great-grandson, Allen; four brothers; and four sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Whitkanack of Sultan, Wash.; one son and two daughters-in-law, Bob and Helen Whitkanack of Clarksville and Sue Whitkanack of Hagarville; five grandchildren, Chellia Hunt and Glena Burkes, both of Russellville, Jean Bowden of Searcy, Michael Whitkanack of Clarksville, and Brian Tremble of Seattle, Wash.; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at the First Baptist Church in Clarksville with Dr. Robert Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Hagarville cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jack Burkes, Eldon Mushrush, Mike Bowden, David Hunt, Mike Reynolds, and Steve Burch.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Normaleta Tilley

Graveside services and burial for Normaleta Tilley, 61, of Kennedale, Texas, formerly of Lamar, who died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at her home, were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Lamar cemetery with Rev. Clyde Vire officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

She was the widow of Ernest Lee Tilley and an employee of Burger Box in Kennedale, Texas.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kari and Todd Pierce of Crowley, Texas, and Anita and Albert Mantell of Kennedale, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Jo Tilley of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Yvonne Brown of Gilmer, Texas, Carmaleta Loyd of Hurst, Texas, and Juanita Osborn of Herlong, Calif.; one brother, Don Bishop of Forest Hill; and seven grandchildren.
