Stephen I. Horvath

Stephen I. Horvath, 73, of Clarksville died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
He was a mechanical engineer and son of the late Lajos and Julianna Gall Horvath.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Anna Szauer Horvath; three daughters, Susan Torok of Hungary, Julianna Buhajla of Knoxville, and Alice Horvath of Illinois; two sons, Stephen Horvath Jr. of Hungary and Joe Horvath of Illinois; one brother, Lajos Horvath of Canada; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Mrs. Viahne J. Colbert

Mrs. Viahne Joyce Colbert, 48, of Hartman died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at her home.
She was a native of Watertown, S. D., and a registered medical assistant for Sparks Regional Medical Center Out Clinic in Mulberry and Charleston.
Survivors include her husband, James Colbert; two daughters, Kedron Robinette and Shanon Brantley, both of Jonesboro; mother, Betty Holcomb of Sherwood; one sister, Roxanne Haas of Cabot; one brother, DeWayne Stephenson of Lakewood, Colo.; and one grandchild, Jaqulyn Marie Brantley of Jonesboro.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bob Oden officiating. Burial was in Woodland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bobby Anhalt, DeWayne Stephenson, Noah Stephenson, Danny Haas, Larry Brantley, and Dr. Ben Kriesel.

Mrs. Wanda June Owens

Mrs. Wanda June Owens, 62, of Clarksville died Friday, May 7, 1999, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late John Thomas Edward and Alice Dixon Cook, a Baptist, and retired craft employee.
She is survived by four daughters, Jennifer Evanoff of Aberdeen, N. C., Darla McKinley and Wendy Owens, both of Clarksville, and Robyn Harris of Lamar; one son, Steven McKinley of Roland, Okla.; two sisters, Dolly Harmon of Kingsland and Eunice Serratt of Casa Grande, Ariz.; two brothers, Don Cook of Fort Worth, Texas, and L. L. Cook of Houston, Texas; and nine grandchildren.
Private memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Ira Taylor officiating.
The body was cremated.

Benjamin E. Taylor

Benjamin Eugene Taylor, 71, of Clarksville died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Alma.
He was a retired production employee, son of the late Samuel and Mary Taylor, Army veteran, and professional baseball player including three years in the majors.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gloria Rochelle Taylor; one stepdaughter, Trisha Breeds of Seattle, Wash.; one stepson, Perry Ahlfinger of Brighton, Colo.; two sisters, Margaret Jones and Betty Remy, both of Metropolis, Ill.; three brothers, Jack Taylor of Paducah, Ky., Goose Taylor of Metropolis, Ill., and Louis McClaine of New Mexico; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, May 14, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Clarence (Bob) Kemp

Clarence (Bob) Kemp, 72, of Clarksville died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of the Spadra Community, son of the late Clarence and Johnie Troy Kemp, 1944 graduate of Clarksville High School, graduate of the University of the Ozarks, member of the First United Methodist Church, Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 9, and the American Legion Bunch Walton Post No. 22, was state commander of the American Legion in 1978, Army veteran of World War II, a retired Maryland Casualty Insurance Company agent, and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue McAnally Kemp.
He is survived by two sons, Robert A. Kemp of Little Rock and John P. Kemp of Booneville; one brother, John W. (Jack) Kemp of Mountain Home; two grandchildren, Brett Kemp of Hot Springs and Jeffrey Kemp of Fayetteville; and one great-grandson, Korbin Alan Kemp of Hot Springs.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Bob McAnally, Mike Higgs, Jackie Cline, Will Frank Shurley, Brett Kemp and Jeffrey Kemp.

Mrs. Eula Hansen Baker

Mrs. Eula Hansen Baker, 88, of West Memphis, formerly of Clarksville, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
She was a practical nurse, member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in West Memphis, and widow of Alton C. Baker.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Joe E. and Marge Baker of West Memphis; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in West Memphis.
Burial was in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis.
Memorials may be made to St. Michaels Catholic Church in West Memphis.

Mrs. Estella Cloninger

Mrs. Estella Hodges Cloninger, 72, of Tuttle, Okla., died Friday, May 14, 1999, in Chickasha, Okla.
She was a native of Amber, Okla., daughter of the late Marvin and Gertie Hutchison Hodges, widow of Ted Cloninger, a 1945 graduate of Amber High School, a 1950 graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University with a bachelor of arts degree and a graduate of State College of Arkansas with a master of science in education degree.
She was a retired school teacher having taught for 25 years with three years at Deer and 22 years at Clarksville. She was a member of the Tuttle First Baptist Church and the Jolly Elders of the church. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dean Hodges.
Survivors include one daughter, Kaye Breon of Laverne, Okla.; two sisters, Reba Fleming of Chickasha, Okla., and Sue Morrissey of Tuttle, Okla.; three brothers, Pat Hodges of Chickasha, Okla., Ted Hodges of Tuttle, Okla., and Larry Hodges of Norman, Okla.; three grandchildren, Dexter Sams and Dean Sams, both of Weatherford, Okla., and Mistie Breon of Laverne, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, May 17, at the Tuttle First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Amber cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzhiemer's Disease, Related Disorders Association, Inc., McAuley Medical Plaza, 4205 McAuley Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73120.

John Loyd Henderson

John Loyd Henderson, 84, of Lamar died Friday, May 14, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired construction employee, Navy veteran of World War II, member of the Assembly of God Church, son of the late John and Ettie Henderson, and was preceded in death by three sisters, Claudia Dodge, Bertha Henderson, and Marie Neal, and one brother, Raymond Henderson.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Marie Louise Yates Henderson; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn J. and Ernest Duvall of Lamar; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James L. and Jean Henderson fo Springdale and Bobby W. Henderson of Berryville; one brother, Ernest Henderson of Lamar; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Monday, May 17, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Dwain Pritchard and Rev. Eugene Dunn officiating. Burial was in Minnow Creek cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Lynn Henderson, Russell Henderson, Allen Hammond, Lonnie Crowder, Steve Campbell, and Brian Henderson.
Honorary pallbearers were Dee Hamilton, William Henderson, and Donnie Henderson.
