Mrs. Lillian M. Clark

Mrs. Lillian Marie Clark, 75, of Oklahoma City, Okla., died Saturday, May 29, 1999.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Webb and Bertha Hamilton of Clarksville, 1942 graduate of Clarksville High School, and a member of Rancho Village Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Haston W. Clark; one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Geary Azlin; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry R. and Ginger Clark; and two granddaughters, Lisa and Amy Azlin.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Rancho Village Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd McKee officiating.
Burial was in Resthaven cemetery under the direction of Vondell L. Smith and Son Mortuary.

Mrs. Polly E. Gentry

Mrs. Polly Estella (Stella) Gentry, 84, of Russellville, mother of Dorothy Shook of Clarksville, died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, widow of Bennie Gentry, daughter of the late Martin and Dora Dossie Reed, native of Spiro, Okla., former resident of Delaware, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Dora Hubbard, and seven brothers.
Survivors include four sons, J. R. Gentry of Havana, James Gentry of Russellville and Johnny Gentry and Tommie Gentry, both of Midland, Texas; two other daughters, Ola Jessen and Cathy Mackie, both of Russellville; ten grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Robbie Jackson and Rev. Kenny Jay officiating. Burial will be in Graves cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Witter, Matt Kotch, Benny Shook, Scott Strand, Jon T. Gentry, Thomas Hellmer, and Chris Gentry.

Mrs. Renee G. Larson

Mrs. Renee G. Larson of Clarksville died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Tom and Gladys Wiley Stuart.
Survivors include her husband, E. Kenneth Larson; two sons, Paul Larson of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Richard A. Reed of Chico, Calif.; one brother, Bob J. Stuart of Dublin, Calif.; two nieces, Tina McAlester of Van Buren and Stacy Johnson of Fort Smith; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel.
The body was cremated.

Mrs. Suzanne Carpenter

Mrs. Suzanne Jean Carpenter, 54, of Ojai, Calif., daughter of Bruce and Louise Church of Dearborn, Mich., formerly of Route 1, Hartman, died Monday, June 14, 1999.
She was a native of Detroit, Mich., former resident of Ventura County, Calif., associate director of Ventura Medical Foundation, retired mail carrier, and a 1973 graduate of California State University at Northridge with a bachelor of arts degree in history.
Other survivors include two sons, Erin and Seth of Ojai, Calif.; one daughter, Rebecca Carpenter of Oxnard, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Savanah of Oxnard, Calif., and Courteney of Ojai, Calif.
Memorial mass was at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Ojai, Calif., with Rev. Gary E. Sanders officiating.
Memorials may be made to Hogar Infantil (orphanage), c/o St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Ojai, Calif.

Samuel O. McReynolds

Samuel Owen McReynolds, 66, of Clarksville died Friday, June 18, 1999, from injuries sustained in an airplane crash at Altus.
He was a native of New Blaine and son of the late Elmer and Leona Sisk McReynolds. He retired from the U. S. Army as a lieutenant colonel, was a pilot in the 101st airborn division having served two tours in Vietnam, and was the recipient of distinguished honors and medals throughout his career. He was a graduate of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and the officer command school at Leavenworth, Kan., and also did graduate work at the University of Tennessee. After retirement he ventured into private enterprises with the most recent being the designing and developing of an Airport Community at Altus.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Winnie McReynolds; one daughter, Peggy Sneegas of Topeka, Kan.; one son, John McReynolds of Slidell, La.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gran and Neva Reynolds of Clarksville; two stepsons, Roy Slocum Jr. of Branson, Mo., and David Slocum of Shreveport, La.; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville with Rev. Lance Jones officiating.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thelma I. Ward

Mrs. Thelma I. Ward, 96, of Clarksville died Saturday, June 19, 1999, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, native of Westmoreland, Kan., daughter of the late Edward and Nettie Phelps Miles, and secretary at the Veterans Hospital in Topeka, Kan., for several years prior to retiring to Clarksville.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Alice M. and Bill Lichtenstern of Topeka, Kan.; one daughter-in-law, Jo Ward of Clarksville; two grandchildren, Sandra Lavin of Little Rock and Marian Lewis of Clarksville; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Mount Hope cemetery in Topeka, Kan.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Mrs. Virginia I. Burgess

Mrs. Virginia Inez Burgess, 74, of Lamar died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the hospital auxiliary, widow of John Burgess, daughter of the late Fletcher and Emma Alexander Hamilton, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Dora Newman and May Burgess, and three brothers, Charles Hamilton, Ed Hamilton, and John Hamilton.
She is survived by one daughter, Teri Jones of Lamar; three sons, Bob Burgess and Wayne Burgess, both of Ventura, Calif., and Bill Burgess of Pauls Valley, Okla.; one sister, Dexter McCarty of Marianna; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Roy Henderson and Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Matt Jones, Joe Wages, Howard Haasis, Bill Armstrong, and Jerry Burgess.
Honorary pallbearer was Justis Hamilton Burgess.

Jerry L. Miller

Jerry L. Miller, 60, of Baxter Springs, Kan., died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
He was a native of Blue Rapids, Kan., son of the late Stanley Fredrick Miller, and a former resident of Tulsa, Okla.
Survivors include his mother, Margery Ellen Miller of Springfield, Mo.; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Horner Askins of Springfield, Mo.; two nieces and spouses, Twyla and Rod Lindsey of Greensboro, N. C., and Tina and Mike Kellerstrass of Springfield, Mo.; one great-nephew, Tanner Kellerstrass of Springfield, Mo.; and two great-nieces, Madison Kellerstrass of Springfield, Mo., and Taylor Lindsey of Greensboro, N. C.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel in Baxter Springs, Kan., with Rev. John Swadley officiating.
The body was cremated.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Juanita Thompson

Mrs. Juanita Thompson, 82, of Clarksville died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
She was a native of Hartman, daughter of the late Burl and Jennie Nelson Phillips, widow of Audie Lee and Cecil Thompson, and member of the Fernwood Assembly of God Church.
Survivors three sons, Bob Lee of Hot Springs, Bill Lee of Van Buren, and Mike Lee of Greenwood; two sisters, Geneva Dahms of Hot Springs and Lois Patterson of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Zeiler officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Kolb, Steven Lee, Jason Lee, Varnel Nelson, Larry Griffin, and Ken Nelson.
