Rev. Vearl E. Reynolds

Rev. Vearl Eugene Reynolds, 72, of Ozone died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville.
He was a retired truck driver, minister for 42 years, member of Shiloh United Baptist Church, U. S. Army veteran of World War II, son of the late Ernie Roscoe and Edith Hudson Reynolds, and was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Sparks, and one brother, Eddie Reynolds.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bertha Edgmon Reynolds; two daughters, Willma Vaughn of Clarksville and Marcia Stanley of Ozone; two sons, Rev. Dennis Reynolds of Mulberry and Tim Reynolds of Hagarville; two sisters, Virgie Eaton of Elkins and Betty Jean Edgmon of Mossville; one brother, Vernon Reynolds of Kingston; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Mossville United Baptist Church with Rev. Alvin Reynolds and Rev. Jerry Wood officiating.
Burial was in Mossville cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Darin Vaughn, Daryl Vaughn, Brian Vaughn, Barry Vaughn, Matthew Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds, Danny Hefley, and Travis Gregory.
Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Reynolds, Randall Edgmon, Kenny Wood, Pete Lager, Jerry Liggett, Terry Edgmon, and Richard Reynolds.
Memorials may be made to the Mossville cemetery Association, HC 70 Box 400, Jasper, AR 72641.

Mrs. Clydette Terry

Mrs. Clydette Hays Terry, 61, of San Antonio, Texas, died Monday, July 19, 1999, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Hays, widow of Walter Terry, a 1954 graduate of Clarksville High School, attended The College of the Ozarks, former resident of Cheyenne, Wyo., member of Wayside Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas, and a piano accompanist for San Antonio (Texas) Schools.
She is survived by three daughters, June Guliuzza of Rapid City, S. D., Shelly Coleman of Golden, Colo., and Celia Garcia of La Junta, Colo.; one son, Ryan Terry of Cheyenne, Wyo.; mother Murval Hays of Clarksville; and six grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at the Hays Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Rink and Randy Guliuzza officiating.
Burial will be in West Mount Zion cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

George E. English

George Edward English, 85, of Route 1, Altus, grandfather of Brenda Allred of Coal Hill, died Friday, July 9, 1999, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
He was a native of Ozark, son of the late Steven and Lula Richard English, former coal miner and employee of Mulberry Lumber Company, and a Protestant.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Annie Sumner English; one son, Kenneth English of Altus; one daughter, Linda Whightsil of Topeka, Kan.; one sister, Loraine Crabtree of Fort Smith; four other grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Nichols Chapel cemetery with Rev. John Kindrix, pastor of the Coal Hill Assembly of God Church, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Ray English, Gary English, Kevin Whightsil, Brandon Whightsil, Keith Allred and Quinton Ramsey.

Mrs. Gladys Hardgrave

Mrs. Gladys Hardgrave, 84, of Clarksville died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a daughter of the late Mack and Irene Robertson Eagan, widow of Norman Hardgrave, and a Baptist.
She is survived by three sisters, Opal Levitt of Boerne, Texas, and Virginia Henninger and Mildred Weaver of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be in Conroe, Texas.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Joe R. Propps

Joe R. Propps, 78, of Somerset, Ky., formerly of Clarksville, died Sunday, July 4, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
A native of Nashville, he was a son of the late Clarence C. and Mattie Chambers Propps, U. S. Army veteran of World War II, New York Life Insurance agent for 37 years, and a member of Eagles Nest Country Club, Lake Cumberland Life Underwriters, and Somerset First Presbyterian Church.
He was a former member of the Lions Club, former manager of the Strand Theatre in Clarksville, served as Housing Authority Commission chairman in Clarksville for 20 years, and was preceded in death by one sister, Floy Mae Craig.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nancy Mouser Propps; two daughters and sons-in-law, Holly and Philip Killane of Clarksville and Lisa and Jim Harms of Fort Smith; one son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Suzanne Mikel of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one foster daughter and son-in-law, Ling and Mike Thio; one brother, Clarence Calloway Propps of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Jordyn and James Michael Harms, both of Fort Smith, Phillip Mikel of Indianapolis, Ind., and John and Steven Shepard, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Center cemetery in Center, Ky., followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. at the Somerset First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jack Wilhelm officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Joe R. Propps Golf Scholarship Fund, Bethel College, Cherry Street, McKensie, TN 38201.

James William Self

James William Self, 41, of Lamar, son of the late Beacher Self, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, in DeSoto, Kan.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Mary Self Robertson of Clarksville; two sisters, Betty Poindexter of Sallisaw, Okla., and Barbara Hill of Hector; three brothers, Darrell Self of Clarksville, Terry Self of Shawnee, Kan., and Roger Self of DeSoto, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, July 16, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Holman cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Wayne Wilkins, John Roberson, Jim Bob Roberson, Billy Schell, Gary Roberson, and Aaron Self.
Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Kelly, Joey McCarrick, Danny Self, and Greg Mize.

Mrs. Louise M. Quick

Mrs. Louise M. Quick, 74 of Clarksville died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Villa Grove, Ill., daughter of the late Charles and Louise Kleiss Eisenmenger, retired Johnson Regional Medical Center employee, and was preceded in death by three sisters, Viola Psfum, Delores Freifing and Marcella McCollum.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Quick; one daughter, Kathy Fredrikson of Longview, Ill.; one son, David Quick of Clarksville; one sister, Rita Anderson of Villa Grove, Ill.; and one grandchild, Regina Fredrikson of Longview, Ill.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, at East Mount Zion cemetery with Rev. John Kindrix officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Leo O. Soerries

Leo O. Soerries, 63, of Odessa, Mo., died Sunday, July 4, 1999, at St. Joseph Health Center in Kansas City, Mo.
A native of Hartman, he was a son of the late Frank and Marie Soerries, a graduate of Hartman High School, and a former employee of KW Dart in Kansas City, Mo., and Garsite Refuelers Corporation in Kansas City, Kan.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Patty S. Soerries; four sons and daughters-in-law, David and Annette Soerries of Odessa, Mo., Scott and Jennifer Soerries of Fenton, Mo., Greg and Sandra Soerries of Oak Grove, Mo., and Mark and Amy Soerries of Lilburn, Ga.; two brothers, Raymond Soerries of New Hudson, Mich., and Roman Soerries of Claremore, Okla.; five sisters, Hilda Oberste of Barling, Leona Cronin of Brainard, Minn., Rita Lindsay of Oklahoma City, Okla., Rosemary Nitz of Atchinson, Kan., and Florence Wiederkehr of Tulsa, Okla., and five grandchildren, Jake, Kathryn, Kristina, Amber and Elizabeth Soerries.
Funeral mass was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 8, at St. George's Catholic Church in Odessa, Mo., with Father Peter Savidge officiating.
Burial was in Odessa cemetery under the direction of Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Sister of Saint Scholastica, Fort Smith, AR 72901.
