Jamie Lynn Riggs

Jamie Lynn Riggs, 21, of Dover died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

He was a native of Clarksville and a 1997 graduate of Dover High School.

Survivors include his parents, Ruben and Juanita Riggs of Dover; one brother, Aaron Riggs of Dover; maternal grandmother, Ruby Norton of Dover; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at the Owens cemetery at Dover with Jared Mason officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.

Active pallbearers were Kenny Riggs, Richard Riggs, Joshua Mathews, Robert Seward, Alan Stubbs, Larry Stubbs, Jason Seward, and Travis Riggs.

First cousins served as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Lois L. Felkins

Mrs. Lois Lorene Smith Felkins, 83, died Dec. 31, 1999, in Tulsa, Okla.

She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late George and Nan Smith, widow of Marvin G. Felkins, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Smith and Claude Smith; one sister, Jetty Lipps; and one grandson.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin (Cathy) Felkins Jr. of Independence, Kan.; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Ray Abdo of Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews in the Clarksville area.

Funeral was Jan. 7 in Tulsa, Okla., with burial at Broken Arrow, Okla.

Mrs. Maurine Patterson

Mrs. Maurine Patterson, 91, of Clarksville and Van Buren, died Sunday in the home of her daughter, Beth Patterson DuVall. She is the widow of Vernon Melton Patterson of Clarksville.

A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, January 26 at 11:00 am in the Woodland Baptist Church north of Clarksville; the funeral is open to the public. A graveside service and interment will follow in the Woodland cemetery adjacent to the church.

Mrs. Patterson was born on August 15, 1908, to Virgil T. and Martha (Redding) Sanders, in Hubbard, TX. She attended Hubbard High School, and graduated in 1926; she later attended The Texas State College for Women (College of Industrial Arts) and North Texas State Teacher's College in Denton, TX, where she began studies for a career in elementary education. She first taught at the Bowman-Dale School in Hill County, TX, from 1928 to 1930, and at the Scott School, in rural communities outside of Hubbard. She later worked for the Sears, Roebuck, Co., in Dallas. She met her husband, Vernon Patterson, in Dallas, and the couple were married there on August 5, 1939; they moved back to Clarksville in 1943. After the accidental death of her husband in 1950 in the Woodland Community, Mrs. Patterson began teaching in the first grade at Michie School in Clarksville. She taught at Michie School until 1965 and then moved to Van Buren, where she continued teaching in the third grade at Sophia Meyer School. She retired at the end of the school year in 1976.

During her years in Clarksville, Mrs. Patterson was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth; two grandchildren, Evan DuVall of Van Buren, and Sarah DuVall Murray of Charlottesville, VA; one great-grandchild, Isaac Patrick Murray; her sister and brother-in-law, Lucile and J. T. Patterson of Clarksville; a niece and nephew, Ann Patterson of Little Rock and Dr. Jack Patterson of Clarksville.

Memorials may be sent to the Woodland cemetery, P. O. Box 231, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Mrs. Mary Ann Riley

Mrs. Mary Ann Riley, 59, of Clarksville died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000.

She was a daughter of the late Virgil and Lizzie May Freeman.

She is survived by two daughters, Becky L. Villarreal and Lisa M. Martinez; one sister, Sarah Freeman; one brother, John Freeman; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Roller-Cox Chapel.

Mrs. Realon E. Bean

Mrs. Realon E. Houston Bean, 87, of Clarksville died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at her home.

A native of the Woodland Community, she was a daughter of the late Will and Nancy Self Houston, widow of Marvin Bean, member of the Stillwell Bible Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one son, Danny Joe, four brothers, Lesley Houston, Roy Houston, George Houston, and Floyd Houston, and three sisters, Edith Williams, Beulah Hardgrave, and Eula Williams.

She is survived by four daughters, Wanda Mooney and Ann Skiles of Clarksville, Joy Stevens of Fort Smith and Nancy Welborn of Paron; four sons, Levon Bean and William Bean, both of Clarksville, and Jim Bean and Cecil Bean, both of Lamar; four sisters, Estelle Stutts and Leoma Atkins, both of Clarksville, Mae Storts of Tahlequah, Okla., and Pauline Gobel of El Cajon, Calif.; 26 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Stillwell Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating.

Burial was in Lone Pine cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Levon Bean, William Bean, Jim Bean, Cecil Bean, Mike Bean, and Tim Bean.

Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren.

Mrs. Ruby Faye Jones

Mrs. Ruby Faye Jones, 70, of Clarksville died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000.

She was a daughter of the late Martin and Virginia Carol Pruitt Nichols, widow of Horace B. Jones, and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Donanna Koivum of Heber Springs and Connie Crane of Davenport, Iowa; one son, Garry Jones of Hunt; two sisters, Jessie Burnett of Ozark and Frankie Morrow of Mulberry; one brother, Mart (Junior) Nichols of Ozark; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Coal Hill Church of Christ with John Ballard officiating.

Burial will be in Liberty Hill cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mike Morrow, Lindy Harvey, Loyd Wayne Jones, Bud Morrow, Darel Timmerman, and Jerry Jones.

Rose E. Ragsdale

Rose Etta Pelham Ragsdale, 81, of Russellville died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at her home.

A native of Fort Douglas, she was a daughter of the late Johnny and Roxie Collins Pelham, widow of James Willard Ragsdale, member of the Parker Hill Holiness Church, and was preceded in death by one son, James Leonard Ragsdale, and five siblings, Taff Pelham, Bertha Millsaps, Bessie Basinger, Nettie Millsaps and Effie Gunter.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, George and Juanita Ragsdale of Dover, Vernon and Rose Ragsdale of Stockton, Calif., Johnny Ragsdale of Dover, and Lowell and Fran Ragsdale of Conway; four daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Dean Williams, Betty and David Walters, and Eudola and David Pepper, all of Dover, and Gwenna and James Brandon of Russellville; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville with Rev. David Harrison, Rev. Bill Tucker, and Rev. Ken McCutcheon officiating. Burial was in Owens cemetery at Dover.

Memorials may be made to the Parker Hill Holiness Church.
