Mrs. Anna Marie Hughes

Mrs. Anna Marie Herrington Hughes, 74, of Clarksville died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at Arkansas Heart Hospital.
A daughter of the late Theodore (Ted) and Opal Marie Brandon Herrington, retired Clarksville Footwear employee, and of Assembly of God faith.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Hughes; two daughters and one son-in-law, Willa and Doug Hatchett and Joyce Hughes, all of Clarksville; and two sisters, Viola Reynolds of Chesapeake, Va., and Kathryn Velasco of Woodlake, Calif.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, at Mt. Airy cemetery with Rev. Don Carey officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Kent Carey, Bob Humphrey, Bud Price, Bobby Reynolds, Bud Mueller, and Bruce Butler.

Mrs. Ethel J. Haddock

Mrs. Ethel Jane Ross Haddock, 66, of Ozark, mother of Ronnie Dunbar of Clarksville, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at her home.
She was a native of Mountainburg, daughter of the late Ebb and Annie Howard Ross, and a retired cook.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Haddock; three daughters, Vickie Gregory of Greenwood, Vivian Ketcher of Stilwell, Okla., and Vanessa Williams of Bowling Green, Ky.; three other sons, Steven Dunbar and Lawrence Dunbar, both of Mulberry, and David Haddock of Ozark; two sisters, Velma Davis of Fern and Sue Frisby of Greenwood; two brothers, Everett Ross of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Charles Ross of Ozark; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, at the Belt cemetery near Ozark with Rev. Tommy Frisby officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Mrs. Ella Traeger

Mrs. Ella Traeger, 86, of Hartman died Monday, July 3, 2000, in North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.
A native of Craig, Okla., she was a daughter of the late John and Willie Lewis Drewry, widow of Joseph Traeger, former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Hartman, member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at Clarksville, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Lorene Corbitt; one granddaughter, Joyce Ann Gafford; three brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Crabtree of Jasper and Elleen Steele of Hartman; one sister, Margie Mays of Hartman; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Rosary service was at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel. Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. William Wewers, O.S.B., officiating.
Active pallbearers were Billy Perry, James Dorney, Richard Mays, Raymond (Sonny) Wilson, Larry Plugge, and Charlie Plugge.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy J. Crabtree, Billy G. Crabtree, Michael Crabtree, John Crabtree, Andy Crabtree Jr., Joe Steele, Jeff Smith, Terry Hensley, Matthew Messer, and Bill Steele.

James Quaile Hill
Lettie Elnora Hill

A memorial service for James Quaile Hill and Lettie Elnora Hill will be held at the home of Gerad Neihouse in Coal Hill on Saturday, July 22, 2000, at 1:30 p.m.
Born in Coal Hill on June 7, 1912, James Hill was the son of Herschel and Bessie Hill. His wife, Lettie Hill, was born in Hartburg, Texas, on Sept. 25, 1910.
The service will be followed by a reception for those in attendance. Friends and family of the deceased are invited.

Leonard Leon Berry

Leonard Leon Berry, 65, of Ozark, father of Betty Nichols of Mountain Top, died Monday, July 3, 2000, in a Fort Smith hospital.
A native of Paris, he was a son of the late Ulis Leon Berry, served in the U. S. Army and U. S. Marines, was a member of the Altus Pentecostal Church, and was a retired line supervisor with Cargill and also retired from Garan Manufacturing.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruthie Childers Berry; one other daughter, Joy Ann Berry of Kansas City, Kan.; mother, Bonnie Marie Yother Berry of Altus; one sister, Mary Beth Holloway of Altus; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Eddie Birdsong officiating. Burial was in Nichols Chapel cemetery at Altus.
Pallbearers were Jeff Hoglund, Doug Stone, Don Sarten, Steve Sarten, Virgil Kessler, and Joseph Skolarski.

Lewis L. Heyland

Lewis Luther Heyland, 48, of Knoxville died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
He was a native of Fort Worth, Texas, and son of the late Reuben and Pebble Sales Heyland.
He is survived by one sister, Darlene Minyard of Fort Worth, Texas; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Larry and Cindy Heyland of Knoxville, William and Nancy Heyland of Baird, Texas, and Harold Ott of Lee, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Friday, July 7, at the Hagarville cemetery with Rev. Don Alexander officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lela M. Oberste

Mrs. Lela M. Oberste, 90, of Clarksville died Sunday, July 9, 2000, in Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, widow of Joseph A. Oberste Jr., and was born in the Minnow Creek Community to Oscar and Evelyn Chronister Horn.
She is survived by two sons, Joe Oberste and Jimmy Oberste, both of Clarksville; six grandchildren, Suzette Oberste, Martine Oberste, Phillip Oberste, Bobby Oberste, and Lisa Cooper, all of Clarksville, and Jamella Cooper of Batson; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Rosary was at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Rev. William Wewers, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will be in Holy Redeemer Catholic cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Hilton, Gene Koerdt, Ken Miller, Gene Raible, George Dailey, and Al Warren.

Nolan Johnson

Nolan Johnson, 85, of Clarksville died Thursday, July 6, 2000.
He was a son of the late Jesse and Myrtle Ragsdale Johnson, construction employee, member of Lamar Baptist Church, and an Army veteran having served under General George S. Patton.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Violet Jones Johnson; one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Sharon Johnson of Lamar; three grandchildren, Jamie LaRose and Jesse Alan, both of Lamar, and Travis Johnson and wife, Samantha, of Booneville; and three great-grandchildren, Sharon, Abigial and Faith.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, at Lamar Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Fowler officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Zachary, M. D. Cromer, Joe Hickey, Jim Colb, Kenneth Johnson, and Wayne Hickey.

Mrs. Ruby B. Pannell

Mrs. Ruby B. Pannell, 88, of Ozark died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at Ozark Nursing Home.
A native of the Spadra Community in Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Monroe and Mary Donaldson Carter, widow of Walter Pannell, and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Joan Contrades of Ozark and Dorothy Scaggs and Carolyn Bewley, both of Sacramento, Calif.; one son, Bill Pannell of Cecil; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Sacramento Memorial Lawn cemetery in Sacramento, Calif.
