Jane S. Kern

Jane Stevenson Kern, 78, of Clarksville died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of the Clarksville Church of Christ for seven years and of the La Harpe Christian Church in La Harpe, Ill., for 49 years. She was a daughter of the late Milton and Helen Stevenson, a native of Terre Haute Community in Henderson County, Illinois, where she was a member of PEO, DAR and the La Harpe Christian Church Missionary Alliance, and was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Helen Christine Kern; stepmother, Mildred Stevenson; three brothers, Joseph, Jack and Jim Stevenson of Stronghurst, Ill.; and one stepbrother, T. L. Henderson of Fairfield, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Glen N. Kern; six sons and four daughters-in-law, Gavin Kern of Chicago, Ill., Leon and Nancy Kern and Sid and Dadee Kern, all of Clarksville, Ted Kern of Englewood, Fla., Robin and Brenda Kern of Mt. Airy, N. C., and Rick and Linda Kern of Raleigh, N. C.; four sisters, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Louden, Mrs. Sid (Judy) Dowell of Stronghurst, Ill., Mrs. Joe (Joan) Rusk of Belle Vista, and Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Fallon of Florida; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville followed by visitation from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in La Harpe, Ill. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at La Harpe Christian Church.

Leo Stokes

Leo Stokes, 84, of Ozark died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late Robert and Eliza Jane Green Stokes, member of the First United Methodist Church in Ozark, former Ozark City Council member with 12 years of service, and a past member of the Businessmen's Fellowship of Fort Smith. He was a retired funeral director for Greer Funeral Home and salesperson for J. T. Greer and Son.
Survivors include his widow, Chella Wofford Stokes; one daughter, Wilda Davis of Ozark; one sister, Ercie Woolsey of Ozark; two grandsons, Todd Davis of Ozark and Bryan Davis of Alma; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Vaughn Marsden and John Lovelace officiating. Burial was at Highland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dallas Maples, Harold Brown, Robert Wofford, Charles Latham, Jim Plemons and Gerald Harvell.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 503 West Commercial, Ozark, AR 72949.

Mike Denniston

Michael Edward (Mike) Denniston, 53, of Hagarville died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, in a Springdale hospital.
He was a native of Fort Smith, former resident of the Altus-Ozark area, graduate of Ozark High School, attended the University of Arkansas and served as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War before returning to the University of the Ozarks for a business degree. He was a helicopter pilot for Critical Air Medi-Vac in La Grange, Texas.
Survivors include two daughters, Sara Elizabeth Denniston of Morrilton and Stephanie Ellen Denniston of Chicago, Ill.; mother, Gerrie Farrah Davis Denniston of Hagarville; father and stepmother, William and Marcie Denniston of Alix; one sister, Lexia Denniston Collier of Springdale; one stepsister, Nellie Knight of Clarksville; and two nephews, Gentry and Justin Collier, both of Springdale.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark.
Memorials may be made to Youth Bridge, 250 Centerton Blvd., Centerton, AR 72719.

Mary M. Einert

Mary Margaret Einert, 70, of Ozone died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at her home.
She was a member of the Ozone Full Gospel Church, daughter of the late James (Toots) Garland and Lindell Brussel Tinsley, and was preceded in death by a stepmother, Tina Tinsley.
Survivors are her husband, Bill Einert; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Cathy Einert of Ozone; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Helen Marie Tinsley and Wanda Sue Thurmond, both of Texas, and Carolyn Kay and Joe Ray Fields of Lamar; and three grandchildren, Aaron Einert, Ben Einert, and Michelle Einert.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. James Simons officiating. Burial was in Mt. Vernon cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Doug Carey, Kent Carey, Rob Jordan, Kenny Milam, Joe Ray Fields, and Jim Dickson.
Honorary pallbearers were Rev. Donald Carey and Jake Bailey.

Mary Bell Woodard

Mary Bell Woodard, 64, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
She was a beautician, daughter of the late Lloyd and Inez Childers Fetters, member of the Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Holman.
Survivors are her husband, Phil W. Woodard; one daughter, Marilyn Spencer of Clarksville; two sons, Jerry Woodard of Lamar and Wendall Woodard of Clarksville; five sisters, Linda Hutchins, Willa Faye Wood and Brenda Gilbert, all of Clarksville, and Cathy Kay Denn and Audrey Arnetta Scruggs, both of Hernando, Miss.; five brothers, Laudell Fetters, Steve Fetters, Curtis Fetters, and Joe Fetters, all of Clarksville, and Earl Fetters of Lamar; and five grandchildren, Alex Woodard, Talen Woodard, Corey Woodard, Zachary Spencer, and Faith Spencer.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the Jamestown Assembly of God Church with Rev. Amos Pledger and Rev. Sally Ladd officiating.
Burial was in Lamar cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Lance Fetters, Jonathan Fetters, J. T. Woodard, Steve Woodard, Dustin Fetters, Benton Childress, Dalton Fetters, and Sean Woodward.
Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Fetters, Norman Smith, William Smith, Wesley Fetters, Chip Scruggs, Curtis Scruggs, Brian Fetters, Neil Woodward, and Darren Warren.

W. Jonathan Pitts

William Jonathan Pitts, 24, of Dover died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at Hagarville.
He attended Arkansas Community College in Morrilton, was an employee of Cagel's Mill Restaurant, and grandson of the late Coy and Sinda Woodward Rowbotham, Eldon and Mildred Mooney Pitts, and Donald Powell. He was preceded in death by one stepsister, Oliana White; and one brother, Paul Dane Pitts.
Survivors include one daughter, Stormie Sanders of the Piney Community; mother, Arlene Pitts of Hagarville; father, Dane Pitts of Hartman; stepfather, David Powell of Joplin, Mo.; grandmother, Joy Ward of Joplin, Mo.; two stepsisters, Tristan Laing of Monrovia, Calif., and Candice Reyes of Covina, Calif.; one brother, Cody Pitts of Hartman; and one stepbrother, Charlie Powell of Sunland, Calif.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the Russell cemetery at Hagarville with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Qualls, Jamie Taylor, Dustin Rowbotham, Luke Sanders, Ben Feikema and Tracy Bates.
Memorials may be made to Freedom House, 400 Lake Front Drive, Russellville, AR 72801.

Ann Marie Habit

Ann Marie Habit, 42, of Coal Hill died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at her home.
She was a native of Los Angeles, Calif., daughter of the late Paul John and Mary Lou Naughton Habit, and a waitress.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Crabtree; one son, Eric Allen Habit of California; two sisters, Marsha Sisneros of Hughson, Calif., and Camille Parkin of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and three brothers, Mark Habit of Port Huenenna, Calif., Peter Habit of Ceres, Calif., and James (Alex) Habis of Honolulu, Hawaii.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Alfred A. Morelli Sr.

Alfred A. Morelli Sr., 82, of Clarksville died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Yonkers, N. Y., Catholic, and retired from Phelps Dodge Corp in New York.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred (Ruby) Morelli Jr. of Clarksville; one stepson, Thomas Borowitz of Yonkers, N. Y.; one sister, Mary Cuccia of Poughkeepsie, N. Y.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Joann M. Fuller

Joann Marie Fuller, 67, of Clarksville died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at her home.
She was a native of Portageville, Mo., graduate of Sikeston (Missouri) High School, attended South East Missouri State College at Cape Girardeau, Mo., and received a licensed practical nursing degree from Sun City California Vocational Nursing School.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Downs of St. Charles, Mo., and Katherine Maher of Moberly, Mo.; two sons, Dr. Ken Fattmann of Rolla, Mo., and Edwin Marks Fattman of O'Fallon, Mo.; mother, Lillian Patterson of Little Rock; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
