Martin R. Johnson

Martin R. Johnson, 77, of Claremore, Okla., died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, in Claremore, Okla.
A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late Richard and Pearl Askins Johnson, and was preceded in death by his wife, Ima Jean Johnson.
Survivors include one son, Richard Wayne Johnson of Claremore, Okla.; one daughter, Nita Johnson of Claremore, Okla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Roy Wayne and Carolyn Johnson of Clarksville; and several grandchildren.
The body was cremated.

Paul D. Campbell

Paul David Campbell, 65, of Dover, whose daughter and son-in-law, Dee and Bud Shaddon reside in Clarksville, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at his home.
He was a native of Davenport, Iowa, son of the late Edward Addison and Esther Leonia McKinney Campbell, adherent soldier of the Salvation Army and member of several other charity organizations. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Lawrence, Gordon and Donald Campbell; and five sisters, Lulla and Dolly Dodd, Penny Lyn, Ivy Modena and Madaline Cencilia Campbell.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Darline Gibbons Campbell; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Lee and Susan Campbell of Vandalia, Mo., and Paul D. and Christy Campbell of Russellville; three other daughters and two sons-in-law, Retta and Mel Allen and Kim Campbell, all of Dover, and Lawrencenia and Danny Mefford of Vandalia, Mo.; two sisters, Vivalee Wells of Dover and Retta Genovese of St. Louis, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Pollard cemetery near Dover with Rev. Grady Tracey officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle.
Active pallbearers were Bud Shaddon, Michael Couch, Donald Campbell, James Maiden, Chris Campbell and Dustin Couch.
Honorary pallbearers were C. L. Karnes, Rick Karnes, and Mel Allen.

Russell Bellinger III

Russell Edward Bellinger III, 46, of Hartman died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at his home.
He was disabled, son of the late Russell Edward Bellinger Jr., and was preceded in death by his stepfather, Eugene Strackbein.
Survivors include one daughter, Ashley Bellinger of Hartman; one son, Russell Lum of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; mother, Nancy T. Strackbein of Hartman; three sisters, Nancy Singleton of Miami, Fla., Kathy Dodge of Hartman and Jeanne Strackbein of Clarksville; one brother, Wade R. Bellinger of Hartman; and five grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Stacy Lee officiating.
Pallbearers were Sean Brown, R. L. Maxwell, Alan Parker, Brock Gould, Ryan Maxwell, and Everett Smith.

Ray E. McFadden

Ray Edgar McFadden, 78, of Hartman died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was a World War II U. S. Army veteran, son of the late Nelson Miles and Zady Darter McFadden, and retired employee of U. S. Fuel Coal Company in Hiawatha, Utah, after 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Mitchell and Jean Brumley; one brother, Cecil McFadden; and two grandchildren, David and Marie Shepherd.
Survivors include his widow, Bonnie B. Davenport McFadden; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Darrell Driggs of Salt Lake City, Utah, Betty and Bill Baker of Oroville, Calif., and Wilma and Steve Shepherd of South Jordan, Utah; two sisters, Ruby Gay of Pine Bluff and Dorothy Brown of Hartman; two brothers, Harold McFadden of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Lloyd McFadden of Clarksville; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Hartman cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Joe Hoing, Tom Davenport, Dallas Davenport, John Brown, Harold McFadden, Steve Shepherd, Ricky Hurst, and Darrell Driggs.
Honorary pallbearers were Cecil Brown and Lloyd McFadden.

Della Mae Campbell

Della Mae Campbell, 82, of Knoxville died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in fort Smith.
She was a native of Casa, daughter of the late Ernest Elmer and Anne Stewart Raney, widow of Edward Campbell, attended Knoxville Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Gist; and two brothers, Jeff (Boots) and Harold Raney.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Marilyn Campbell of Van Buren; two brothers, Glenn Elmer Rainey of Knoxville and Irvin Raney of Ola; two sisters, Charlene Scoles of Centerville and Imogene West of Russellville; two grandchildren and spouses, Karen and Danny Fight of Van Buren and Tom and Traci Campbell of Little Rock; and two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Catelyn Fight, both of Van Buren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Denver Robinson officiating. Burial was in Aunt Dilly cemetery at Casa.
Nephews served as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Gist, Jimmy Birkhahn, Jerry Birkhahn, and Gerald Birkhahn.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Arkansas Affiliate, Inc., 212 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205-1573.

Emma L. Baskin

Emma Lou Smith Baskin, 73, of Kansas City, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital.
She was a native of the Harmony Community, daughter of the late Riley and Lola Dickerson Smith, buyer for Health Midwest prior to retiring in 1995, and was preceded in death by one sister, Ladeane Smith Meyer.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James L. Baskin; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Mark Fletcher of Lone Jack, Mo.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Garry and Joyce Baskin of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Larry and Kim Baskin of Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren, Erin Baskin and fiance, Tom Jenkins, Emily Baskin, Angela Fletcher, Brittany Baskin and Baleigh Baskin; one great-granddaughter, Destiny Dawn Fletcher; one sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Wayne Ogilvie of Holton, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Longview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Park Lawn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Harmony Presbyterian Church, c/o Reba Laster, 12211 Highway 164, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Earle H. Hunt Jr.

Earle H. Hunt Jr., 85, of Clarksville died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at Maumelle.
A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earle Houston (Totton Hutchison) Hunt Sr., member of the First United Methodist Church, graduate of Clarksville High School, attended the University of Arkansas and Hendrix College, Army veteran of World War II, and a retired policeman for the city of Clarksville.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Helen Hilton Hunt; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earle (Donna) Hunt III of Maumelle, Mr. and Mrs. Don (Linda) Hunt of Springdale, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob (Nancy) Hunt of Little Rock; one sister, Lillian Zarwell of Clarksville; and four grandchildren, Donald Hunt Jr. of Springdale, Misty Hunt Murphey of Washington, D. C., Robert H. Hunt Jr. of Little Rock, and Earle Houston Hunt IV of Maumelle.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating. The body was cremated by Faith Crematory in Van Buren. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Needy Paws Animal Shelter, 1100 East Main Street, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Freddie Roughley

Freddie Bob Roughley, 66, of Vera, Okla., formerly of Coal Hill, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Elbert Roughley; parents, Albert Earl and Reba Marie Crabtree Roughley; and one brother, Johnny Lee Roughley.
Survivors include his widow, Diana Smith Roughley; three daughters, Tonya Knotts, Sherrie Roughley, and Angela Joyce; two sisters, Glenda Roughley of Clarksville and Faye Pannell of Greenwood; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Resthaven cemetery in Sperry, Okla., with Pastor Bob Morton officiating.

Farris Lee Skaggs

Farris Lee (F. L. "Red") Skaggs, 78, of Clarksville died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at Ozark.
He was a retired licensed real estate broker and appraiser, self-employed businessman including an excavation construction company and military surplus heavy equipment business, served in the U. S. Army 7th Armored Division and 48th Armored Infantry Battalion in World War II, recipient of a Purple Heart award, Bronze Star, and the U. S. Army Distinguished Service Cross for his participation in various battles including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a son of the late Sidney Floyd and Annie Rose Skaggs, and was preceded in death by one brother, Earnest Loyd (Bob) Skaggs; and two infant siblings.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marietta Janie Whitson Skaggs; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Jackie Dobbins of Van Buren, and Connie and Kenn Young and Peggy and John Brown, all of Clarksville; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and P. J. Skaggs of Ozark; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and James Gipson, Hazel and Mervin Farris, and Edith and John Chrisman, all of Clarksville, and Roseanna and Les Woodard of Oklahoma; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Lester and Frances Skaggs and Ira Skaggs, all of Clarksville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark Estelle, Todd Dobbins, Greg Massengale, Jeff Massengale, Dale Wright, and Lucas Skaggs.

Jimmy Greenhaw

Jimmy Greenhaw, 57, of Lamar died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
He was a native of Mount Judea, son of the late Walter and Lizzie Chavers Greenhaw, and member of the Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by five sisters, Louise Cully, Jackie Pelts, and Donna Mefford, all of Clarksville, Dimple Cross of Hartman, and Imogene King of Ozone; one brother, Doyle Mefford of Clarksville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at the Knoxville cemetery with Rev. Sally Ladd officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
