Mary J. Garrison

Mary Juanita Garrison, 72, of Clarksville died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a retired home health employee, member of Second Baptist Church in Clarksville, daughter of the late Henery and Mae Underwood, widow of Clarence M. Garrison, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Hume and Virginia Underwood; and six brothers, Norman, Alfred, Vernon, Bill, Edger, and Willard Underwood.
Survivors include one daughter, Alice Ann Harris of Dayton, Ohio; one adopted daughter, Carolyn Phillips; two grandchildren, Melissa Armstrong and husband, Chris, and Thomas Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Justin and Tyler Armstrong.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Kenny Phillips, Ken Young, Chet Wages, Thomas Smith, Pat Hilton, and Patrick Baker.
Honorary pallbearers were Rick Goodrich and Thomas Williams.

Robert Blackford

Funeral for Robert (Ray) Blackford, 64, of Bauxite, who died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Hardwicke Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Horne officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
He was a native of Van Buren, former resident of Lamar, and son of the late Robert Guy and Elva Annette Blackford.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Ernestine Blackford; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Donna Blackford of Mayflower and Allan and Toni Blackford of Benton.

Robert D. Holt

Robert Dwayne Holt, 60, of Gore, Okla., died Oct. 19, 2004, at the Veterans Medical Center in Muskogee, Okla.
He was a native of Lamar, truck driver, Army veteran and was preceded in death by two brothers, Sonny Sparks and Michael Sparks of Clarksville, and grandparents, Pete and Myrtle Mae Holt of Lamar.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Holt; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Diane Holt of Clarksville and Billy and Paula Holt of Baton Rouge, La.; five daughters, Susan Mayes and husband, Tim, of Gore, Okla., Lisa Holt of Dennison, Texas, Tracy Holt of Fayetteville, and Kim Holt of Hartman; two stepchildren and spouses, Tim and Angie Wheeler and Tammy and Todd Matthews of Muskogee, Okla.; mother, Gladys Sparks of Clarksville; three brothers, Carl Lee Sexton of Barling, Troy Sparks of Scranton, and Billy Dean Sparks of Clarksville; six sisters, Jimmie Peters of Dallas, Texas, Thelma Stewart of Pryor, Okla., Sylvia Smith of Lincoln, and Linda Woods, Brenda Higgs and Rhonda Sparks, all of Clarksville; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral and burial were at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Fort Gibson National cemetery in Fort Gibson, Okla., with Rev. Wendell Cox officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Millsap Funeral Home of Webbers Falls, Okla.

Alpha Mae Rea

Alpha Mae Rea, 76, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
She was a native of Bell County, Ky., daughter of the late Dorsey and Mary Jane Martin Partin, widow of Rolland Edgar Rea, and was preceded in death by three sons, Roger Dale Rea, George Allen Rea, and Lawrence Partin, and three brothers, Roy, John and Gib Partin.
She is survived by one daughter, Fay Dunson of Clarksville; three sons, Henry Rea of Huntington, Ind., James Rea of Scranton, and Rolland Rea of Clarksville; stepmother, Haster Bull of Pineville, Ky.; and two sisters, Omega McEachin of Florida and Frances Ferguson of Kentucky.
A private memorial service will be held in Kentucky at a later date.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Needy Paws, 1100 East Main Street, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Juan Montelongo

Juan Federico Montelongo, 18, of Lamar died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, in Little Rock.
He was a student and member of the First Baptist Church of Clarksville.
Survivors include his parents, Federico and Araceli Rabago Montelongo of Lamar; two sisters, Pamela and Marisol Montelongo, both of Lamar; and two brothers, Rodolfo and Francisco Montelongo, both of Lamar.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at the First Baptist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Robert Brown officiating.
Burial was in Minnow Creek cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the School for the Blind in Little Rock.

Mildred Hardwicke

Mildred Allene Hardwicke, 82, of Hagarville died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at her home.
She was a retired sales clerk, member of the First Presbyterian Church, daughter of the late Zearl Columbus and Martha A. Harris Morris, widow of Robert H. Hardwicke, and was preceded in death by one brother, James H. Morris of Clarksville.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Hull of Hagarville; two grandsons, Andrew R. Hull and Chris Hull and wife, Tonuia, all of Hagarville; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Samantha and Alyssa Hull of Hagarville, one sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Floyd Dickerson of Conway; and one sister-in-law, Deena Morris of Clarksville.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville.
Burial will be in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be James Dickerson, Larry Dickerson, Keith Dickerson, Steve Garrison, J. D. Jones and Don Cochran.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Roller-Cox Chapel.

Mabel B. Murray

Mabel Bailey Murray, 82, sister of Mary Louise Roberts of Coal Hill, died Oct. 6, 2004, in Sacramento, Calif.
She was a native of Clarksville, 47-year resident of Sacramento, Calif., longtime employee of Sacramento County Hospital and UCD Med Center, widow of Dallas L. Bailey and William H. Murray, and was preceded in death by one son, Gerald W. Bailey, and one grandson, James D. Popejoy.
Other survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Anna Popejoy, Sandra and Carl Lee, Peggy and John Branson, and Patricia Graves, all of Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter-in-law, Carol Bailey of Pacific House, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at Sacramento Memorial Lawn followed by a private inurnment.

Mattie H. Wilhelm

Mattie Helen Wilhelm, 85, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital.
She was a native of the Pittsburg Community and daughter of the late Charley and Ocie Mae Hankins Brown.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Nancye Wilhelm of Jackson, Ala., and Nelson and Elaine Wilhelm of Fort Smith; six brothers, W. A. Brown of Ozone, Kenneth Brown of Knoxville, Ronald Brown of Bryan, Texas, Paul Brown of Wichita, Kan., and Charles Brown and Edward Brown, both of Lamar; three grandchildren, Jason Wilhelm of Mobile, Ala., John Wilhelm of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Julie Wilhelm of Fort Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at the First Baptist Church in Ozark with Rev. Sam Brown officiating.
Burial was in Highland cemetery at Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were nephews, Keith Brown, Stacy Brown, Kevin Brown, Brian Brown, Stephen Brown, Kerry Brown, David Brown, Michael Brown, and Matt Brown.

Polly E. Jennings

Polly Eudola Jennings, 84, of Clarksville died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, in a Conway nursing home.
She was native of Johnson County, member of the Clarksville Church of Christ, and was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Crowden and one sister, Haskell Crowden.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert Jennings Sr.; two daughters, Willie Patterson Davis and Beth Hodges, both of Greenbrier; two sons, Herbert L. Jennings Jr. of Scranton and Dr. James Jennings of Bangladesh; two sisters, Ellen McCarley of Lamar and Emogene Crotts of Mulvane, Kan.; three brothers, Gene Crowden of Larussell, Mo., Richard Crowden of Lamar, and Norman (Skeeter) Crowden of Clarksville; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Clarksville Church of Christ.
Burial was at Mt. Airy cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
Active pallbearers were Craig Patterson, Greg Patterson, Dustin Smith, Tyler Loop, Cody Smith, and Kory Loop.
Honorary pallbearers were Herbert Lawrence (Trae) Jennings III, Joey Mamary, Noah Wright, Drake Patterson, Morgan Jennings, Nathaniel Jennings and Andrew Jennings.
