Foster Teague
(January 4, 1929 - September 26, 2011)
Foster Teague, 82, of Jonesboro died Monday, September 26, 2011 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born in Harrisburg, graduate of Trumann, and had lived in Jonesboro most of his life and was a member of the Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. Foster was a member of the Teamsters Union and served in the US Army during the Korean War and a member of the American Legion. He drove for Great Southern Coaches, MDR Cartage and was currently employed by PTI Transportation Company.
Foster was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Leota Teague; three brothers, Bill Teague, Marion Teague and Dennis Teague.
Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Stella Teague, of the home; son, Ronnie Foster Teague and wife, Donna of Jonesboro; daughters, Kathy Hall and husband, Ritchie Hall; Patty Willard and husband, Steve all of Jonesboro; Sheila Goudie and husband, Richard of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Matthew Hall, Jason Hall, Jacob Goudie, Ronna Teague, Ryan Foster Teague; great grandchildren, Katelyn Hall, Bethany Hall, Lexi Hall and Keegan Davis.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Mike Book and Don Vuncannon officiating and Matt Hall serving as a eulogist. Burial will follow in Pine Log cemetery with Matthew Hall, Jason Hall, Jacob Goudie, Ryan Foster Teague, Owen Wilson and Rick Cooper serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Gordon Fultz, Loyd Hogue, and the Men of Prospect Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time on Saturday at Emerson Memorial Chapel. For those wishing to leave lasting memorials, the family requests you consider the Prospect Baptist Church Building Fund, 4200 E. Johnson, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.

Ben Scott
(February 17, 1941 - September 20, 2011)
Ben Scott, 70, of Bay died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at his home. He was born February 17, 1941 in Red Water, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bonard and Ana Lou Scott; 1 brother, Ralph Palmer; 2 sisters, Mauvoline Taylor, and Penny Pennington.
He is survived by his loving Ex-wife, Betty Scott of Jonesboro and a host of family and friends. A Memorial service will be held Friday evening at 5pm in Needham Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Bricker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, family asks to consider donations be made to Needham Baptist Church, mailing address: 1465 CR 945 Jonesboro, AR 72401, 870.932.1744 in memory of Ben Scott.

Steve Gordon
(August 10, 1954 - September 24, 2011)
Steve Gordon, 57, of Paragould died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at his home. Steve had lived in Paragould for three years, moving there from Jonesboro. He enjoyed bowling, building and working with his hands. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Krista Gordon; his parents, one grandson, Steven Brykette; and one brother, David Gordon.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Deena Gordon, of the home; sons, Jason Gordon and wife Jamie of Paragould; Jerry Denton of Lake City; two grandchildren, Amanda and Cody; and one great grandchild, Adrienne.
Funeral services will be 6:00 Wednesday night at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Chris James officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge. Visitation will be from 4:00 until service time on Wednesday. Paul W. Duggleby
(May 15, 1914 - September 23, 2011)
Paul W. Duggleby, 97, of Jonesboro, died Friday at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born in Davenport, Iowa and had lived in Jonesboro for 8 years having moved here from Horseshoe Bend. He was retired from the Rock Island Arsenal as Chief of Utilities and Operation after 36 years of service. Mr. Duggleby received his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa. He worked on and received his Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering from several schools; St. Ambrose College, University of Iowa, Boston College, and Harvard University. He also had some post graduate work from Black Hawk College. He enjoyed many things in life; golfing, camping, tennis, dancing, and traveling. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Trinity Lodge #208 in Davenport, Iowa, Mahossan Grotto, Zarapath Consistory, Moose Lodge, Family Motor Coach Association, Lions Club, and served 20 years as Director Emeritus for the Shriners. He also volunteered with area police to help check on homes while people were vacationing and volunteered at fairs in Craighead County, Salem, and Blytheville. Mr. Duggleby enjoyed life.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Shirley Creech Duggleby of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Waldby & Dora Pahl Duggleby; his brothers, Robert Duggleby and Wayne Duggleby, who was an Episcopal priest.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Edward Pruett and Rev. Ross Burton officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park cemetery in Davenport, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to the Kaaba Shriners, P.O. Box 3627, Davenport, Iowa, 52808-3627.

Hugh Allen Duty
(July 31, 1953 - September 23, 2011)
Hugh Allen Duty, 58, of Jonesboro, died on Friday September 23, 2011, at St Bernards Regional Medical Center with his family at his side.
Hugh was born on July 31, 1953 to the late Buster and Verlene Duty of Paragould. His passions in life were his family and music. He had been a drummer for several different bands over his musical career. He lived in Nashville, Tennessee where he played music for many years. He also traveled with the 1932 Ballroom Blues Band, Steelwind, Cadillac Wheels, and was also in a House Band in Branson, Missouri. He had been employed with Wal-Mart for a total of 15 years, and he was a loving father and grandfather, that loved to spoil his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Mandy Duty of Jonesboro; a son, Josh Hinson of Jonesboro; two daughters, Sarah Sumpter and husband Kevin of Jonesboro, and Keisha Broyles of Mountain Home; a brother, Max Duty and wife Janette of Cincinnati, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Madeline Sumpter, Sydney Hinson, Samuel Sumpter, and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dave Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Andy Long, Jason Eddington, Robert Norwood, Adam Stanage, Chance Tubbs, Cody Tubbs, Steven Lynn, Freeman Travis, Sonny Hunt, and Aaron Camp.
Also honored to serve as Honorary Pallbearers are Rick Bradsher, Russell Van Wetering, and Pat Daugherty, Bill Little, Eddie Baker, Phil Gatling, Johnny Gatling, and Tony Bishop.

Melendia Bennett Render
(August 11, 1926 - September 22, 2011)
Melendia Bennett Render, 85, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, September 22, 2011, at St. Elizabeth’s Place in Jonesboro.
Melendia was born in Jonesboro and lived most of her life here. She was a retired executive secretary to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Arkansas State University with 30 years of service.
She was a graduate of Melton Business College in Jonesboro and was a member of Jonesboro Business and Professional Women. Melendia was also a member of the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church, Arkansas State University Secretaries Club, Arkansas-Oklahoma chapter of the National Secretaries Association, and the Jonesboro chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She enjoyed oil painting and water painting, was a member of the Northeast Arkansas Visual Arts League and was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruth Dacus Schisler, and by a brother, Arthur Byron Schisler.
Survivors include her husband, H.G. Render of the home;
2 sons and their wives: Robert and Nancy Bennett of Longmont, Colorado, and Lindel and Wyvetta Bennett of Jonesboro;
1 brother, E.R. Schisler of Sherwood; 1 sister, Addie Johnson of Spokane, Missouri;
3 grandchildren and their spouses: Melody and Luke Simon of Longmont, Michael and Kristie Bennett of Jonesboro, and Robby and Tina Bennett of Vero Beach, Florida; and
5 great grandchildren: Noah Simon, Carson Simon, Mackenzie Simon, Owen Simon and Ashley Bennett.
Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon, 3:00-5:00, at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
Graveside services in Philadelphia cemetery will be private.
Pallbearers include Richard Schisler, Randel Schisler, Edward Lee Schisler, Bryan Roedel, Derrick Copeland, Chris Erwin, Michael Bennett and Robby Bennett.
