Selma Davis
Selma Fadalma Davis, 91, of Maumelle died Friday, June 5, 2009, at Ozark Health Medical Center in Clinton. She was born Nov. 5, 1917, at Quincy to the late Joseph E. and Fadalma Billings Davis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by her son, Harold Summers; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Roller McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton.

Willie Elliott
Willie Bentley Elliott, 82, of Clinton died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at his home. He was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Marshall to the late Wylie W. and Myrtie Rose Elliott. He was a World War II Army veteran and retired from Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Larry Joe Elliott; brother Earl Elliott; and sisters Willodean Elliott, Edna Horton, Verna Mae Jones and Pauline Bryan. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, June Harness Elliott; two sons, Gary Elliott of Luther, Okla., and Jerry Elliott of Edmond, Okla.; two daughters, Sheriee Hill of Fayetteville and Rhonda Langston of Longview, Texas; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was 10 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at Roller Coffman Funeral Home Chapel Marshall with burial at Dongola cemetery, Marshall. Donations can be made to: Van Buren County Hospice P.O. Box 452 Clinton, AR 72031.

Loyal Birdsong
Loyal Oleta Birdsong, 75, of Wagoner, Okla., died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Ozark Health Nursing Center of Clinton. She was born April 14, 1934, at Sapulpa, Okla., to the late Fred L. and Arvella Galloway Birdsong. She was employed by AT&T; as a telephone operator for many years. She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by her stepmother, Marie Birdsong; sister Frieda McClellan; and four brothers, Howard, Jerry, Larrell, and Clifford Birdsong.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Roller McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton.

Clayton Patterson
Clayton E. Patterson, 85, of Damascus, died Thursday, June 11, 2009. He was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Scottsville, Kansas, a son of the late Archie Patterson and Altha (LeiBinows) Patterson. He was a member of Electrical Workers Union (I.B. of E.W.) 1002 and attended First Baptist Church in Center Ridge.
Survivors include his wife, Ina M. Patterson; two sons, Eric Patterson and wife Suzannah of North Little Rock, and Brandon Patterson of Conway; two daughters, Donna Hawkins and husband Billy Carl of Leslie, and Deborah Patterson-English and husband Tony of Conway; one brother, George Patterson of Vancouver, Wash.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at Bob Neal & Sons Chapel in Morrilton. Interment was at Pleasant Hill cemetery. Memorials may be made to Center Ridge First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Warren Quattlebaum
Warren D. Quattlebaum, 79, of Conway, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009. He was born April 13, 1930, in Bee Branch, to the late William Robert and Effie (Newton) Quattlebaum. He retired from Virco and was a member of the Church of Christ at Prince Street.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Richard, Doyle, Homer, and M.O. Quattlebaum. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patsy (Glendenning) Quattlebaum; two sons, Michael Quattlebaum and wife Shelly of Grady, and Roger Quattlebaum and wife Mary Lynn of Greenbrier; and by three grandchildren, Taylor, April and Libby Quattlebaum.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Tuesday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, with Jerry Crolius officiating. Interment will follow at Halbrook cemetery in Center Ridge (Conway County). Visitation was Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Jerry Bartley, Vic Brewer, Juan Montelongo, Mike Ferrell, Lewis Barnett and Ricky Barnett.

Clayton Patterson

Linda Jones
Linda Jane Jones, 59, of Marshall died at her home on June 18, 2009. She was born May 4, 1951, to William and Helen Jane (Matts) Morris in Enid, Okla.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Jimmy Jones; father, William Morris; and brother, Leslie Morris. She is survived by her mother Helen Johnson of Shirley; three daughters, Melissa Hammer and Trenia Jones, both of Marshall, and Heather and husband Ronnie Baker of Leslie; three brothers, Bill Morris of Conway, Carlton and wife Mary Morris of West Memphis, and Joe Morris of Shirley; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall with Mark Treadwell officiating. Burial will be in the McDaniel cemetery.

Betty Tomlinson
Betty Zane Tomlinson, 76, of Morrilton, died Sunday, June 21, 2009. She was born March 12, 1933, in Newport to the late T.C. and Edna Hall. She was retired from Entergy, where she worked as a clerk for over 25 years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Hall; and a son, Joe Paul Tomlinson. Survivors include her husband Louie D. Tomlinson; one sister, Faye (Lonnie) Mitchell of Hurst, Texas; one son, Stanley D. (Lynne) Tomlinson of Morrilton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial service was 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, at First United Methodist Church in Morrilton with Rev. Jerry Collins officiating. Service and arrangements by Bob Neal & Sons of Morrilton.

Alma Rhoads
Alma Rhoads, 87, of Scotland, died Thursday, June 18, 2009. She was born July 26, 1921, in Van Buren, a daughter of Herman and Mary Cates McKim. She was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Loice Rhoads. Survivors are sons, Sonny Rhoads of Silsbee, Texas, Carroll Rhoads of Mayflower, and L.J. Rhoads of Perry; daughters, Joyce Lawson of Baytown, Texas, Betty Jolly of Scotland, Shirley Pike of Virginia Beach, Va., Sheliah Stehle of Mabelvale, Winnie Clayton of Morrilton and Delores Phillips of Jonesboro.
Graveside services were 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, at Pleasant Grove cemetery at Scotland by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Online guestbook: www.harrisfuneralhomes.net.

Virginia Bee
Virginia M. Autry Bee, 85, passed away early on the morning of June 22, 2009, after a lengthy series of illnesses.
Born in 1924 in Van Buren County, Ark., to the late James Edgar and Lulu Naoma Tester Autry, Virginia attended clothing design school in Arkansas until 1943 when she moved to Illinois to work at a St. Louis wartime facility, helping to manufacture tanks for the Allied war effort. While in Illinois, she met and married Army Cpl. (later Sgt.) Bernard Bee Jr. At the end of WWII, she returned with her husband to his home in Indianapolis, where they began their family. Two daughters, Connie and Peggy, were born in Indianapolis. During this period, Mrs. Bee sold real estate for a time and then began a long career with Kroger, which lasted more than 40 years. She was a member of DAR, Kappa Kappa Sigma in Mooresville and the Gideon Auxiliary. During the late 1950s and early 1960s she was a volunteer in Central Indiana Girl Scouts as a troop leader and city activities coordinator.
In 1961, the family moved to the Mooresville area, where Virginia joined the Mooresville Kroger as a cashier and began union stewardship duties there. She remained active in her role as employee and union advocate, completing many education courses on employment law and serving on many union panels during the 1970s and 1980s. She provided support to her daughters and community in the Mooresville-Monrovia area and was an active parent and grandparent supporting Monrovia schools and the Monrovia High School Band from the 1960s until the mid-2000s.
In the early 1980s, Mrs. Bee took on the additional role of caregiver to her mother-in-law, Mrs. Anna Bee. During this time, she also began supporting the pastoral duties of her husband as he took on the role of pastor to Whittaker Baptist Church, later becoming pastor of Oak Park Baptist Church in Indianapolis. As a full-time worker, mother and wife she also provided much of the grit and gumption that held her family together through both good and tough times. She is, and will forever be, profoundly missed by those she loved and who loved her.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 64 years, Bernard; sister Lorene Eoff of Oklahoma; her daughters, Connie Marie (Lester Jr.) Bowling and Peggy Ann Thomas, also of Mooresville; grandchildren, Michael (Bethany) Bowling of Camby, Heather (Michael) Kistler of Indianapolis, Meredith (Randall) Bee of Greencastle, Elizabeth Thomas of Indianapolis and Kaitlyn Thomas of Mooresville and Utah; and four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Michaela and Brynn Bowling and Kayleigh Kistler. Virginia was preceded in death by her two brothers, Delmar and James Autry.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 24, from 4-8 p.m. at Jones Crossing Banquet Center next to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Services are Thursday, June 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the same location, with interment at Mount Pleasant cemetery in Morgan County following the services. Friends are asked to send condolences and remembrances to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, which will then be distributed to the family.

Jesse Hawkins
Jesse O. Hawkins, 76, of Clinton died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at home. He was born Sept. 2, 1932, in Enterprize, W.Va. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Veteran and a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ruth Moore Hawkins; two sons, Douglas Gray of Colorado and Bruce Gray of Maryland; and four grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Roller McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton.

Felicia Wisler
Felicia Grace Wisler, 84, of Damascus, formerly of Orestes, Ind., died after an extended illness Sunday, June 21, 2009, at her home. She was born Aug. 26, 1924, at Falfurrias, Texas, to the late Ezra Daniel and Caddie Ruth Brubaker Kinzie. She was the owner of a bookstore in Damascus and a member of the Church of the Brethren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Billie R. Wisler; one brother, Royce Stong; and one sister, Joyce Stong. Survivors are three sons, Daniel Dwight Wisler of Damascus, Roger Curtis Wisler of Greenbrier, and Kenneth Lee Wisler and wife Nena of Orestes, Ind.; five daughters, Stella Marie Wisler of Greenbrier, Sylvia Ruth Sullivan and husband Cass of Alexandria, Ind., Nola Rae Lineberry and husband Steven of Orestes, Ind., Peggy Joyce Todd and her husband Steve of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Shirley Jean Wisler of Troy, Mo.; 27 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carlota Ferne Hanson of Middletown, Conn.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. June 25, 2009, at the United Methodist Church of Damascus. Cremation Arrangements are under the direction of Roller McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton.
