Patricia Derrick Vanderbilt

Patricia Ann Derrick Vanderbilt, age 65, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at her residence.

Mrs. Vanderbilt was born November 19, 1944, at Springhill, Louisiana, and had lived in Texarkana for most of her life.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a retired Registered Nurse.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Becky Plant.

Survivors include her husband, Tommy Vanderbilt of Texarkana, Arkansas, one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tracy Culp of Texarkana, Texas, one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Corena Lavender of Texarkana, Texas, one step-son, Joe Vanderbilt of Irving, Texas, her parents, George Gardner and Dorothy Derrick of Texarkana, Arkansas, five grandchildren, Derrick Lavender, Tyler Lavender, Tori Culp, Beth Culp, and Ben Culp, and one great-grandchild, Reagan Nicole Olguin.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 A. M. Wednesday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Rev. Bill Saxby and Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating.

THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT THE FUNERAL HOME FROM 6 PM UNTIL 8 PM. TUESDAY.

MEMORIALS MAY BE MADE TO HOSPICE OF TEXARKANA, 803 SPRUCE STREET, TEXARKANA, TEXAS, 75501.

J A (Jadie) Nall

Mr. J A (Jadie) Nall, age 80, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in a local hospital.

Mr. Nall was born April 1, 1929, in Miller County, Arkansas, and had lived all of his life in Miller County.

He was a retired logger and roughneck in the oil fields.

Survivors include five nieces, Sue Potts of Genoa, Arkansas, Nelda Davis of Minden, Louisiana, Glenda Hawkins of Hawkins, Texas, Lisa Fricks of Texarkana, Texas, and Opal Sherman of Redwater, Texas, two nephews, Troy Ward and his wife Vonda of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Duncan Nall of Texas, and several great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 A.M. Thursday at Genoa Central Church of Christ cemetery with Rev. Orville Farren officiating.

Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.

THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT THE FUNERAL HOME FROM 5 PM UNTIL 7 PM WEDNESDAY.

THE FAMILY WILL BE AT THE HOME OF TROY AND VONDA WARD, 1000 SHORT HORN DRIVE, TEXARKANA, ARKANSAS.

Hazel Smith

Hazel Louise McKnight Smith, 82 of Texarkana, Arkansas, passed away March 10, 2010 at a local hospital.

Mrs. Smith was born March 19, 1927 in Texarkana, Texas.

She was retired from GTE and was a member of Boyd Union Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. “Sharkey” Smith.

Survivors include one daughter, Hilda Bryant of Ashdown, Arkansas; one son, J.C. “Bo” Smith of Texarkana, Texas; one sister, Ann Friday of Arlington, Texas; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Sylverino cemetery with the Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating.

Burial is under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon at the funeral home from 4:00 to 5:30 P.M.

Family will be at MC 10, Boyd Community, at the home of Joe and Shannon Bryant.

Corah Ellen Copelin

Mrs. Corah Ellen Copelin, age 69, of Genoa, Arkansas, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at her residence.

Mrs. Copelin was born March 17, 1941, at Queen City, Texas and had lived most of her life in Miller County, Arkansas.

She was a member of the Central Church of Christ and was a former manager in the cafeteria in the Texarkana, Arkansas School Systems.

Survivors include her husband, Allen Copelin of Genoa, Arkansas, one son, Matthew Copelin of Texarkana, Arkansas, one daughter, Mellisa Ann Kelley of Walls, Mississippi, one sister, Joyce Smith of Plant City, Florida, one brother, Lester Lummus of Wake Village, Texas, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Central Church of Christ with David Adams officiating.

Burial will be at the Central Church of Christ cemetery under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.

THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT THE FUNERAL HOME FROM 6 PM UNTIL 7:30 PM TUESDAY.

Arthur Lee House
(September 13, 1939 - August 18, 2011)

U.S. Veteran - Mr. Arthur Lee House, age 71, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Thursday, August 18, 2011, in a local nursing home.

Mr. House was born September 13, 1939, in Texarkana, Arkansas.

He was a retired Iron Worker, was a member of the Edwards Masonic Lodge #593 and a 32nd Degree Mason, and was a Veteran of the United Stated Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gwendolyn K. House.

Survivors include his wife, Karen House of Texarkana, Arkansas, two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Brenda House and William and Ashley House of Genoa, Arkansas, two brothers and sisters-in-law, D. L. and Ada House and Cecil and Jane House of Texarkana, Arkansas, one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Troy Blaylock of Texarkana, Arkansas, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A. M. Tuesday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Rev. James Lindsey officiating.

Burial will be at Rondo cemetery.

Jacquelin Ann Cole
(October 9, 1954 - August 20, 2011)

Mrs. Jacquelin Ann Hays Cole, age 55, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Saturday, August 20, 2011, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Cole was born October 9, 1954, in West Memphis, Arkansas.

She was retired from Red River Army Depot and was a Homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Doug Winter of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Mike Burrow of Grady, Arkansas, two sisters, Angela Hays of Texarkana, Texas and Gayle Price of Genoa, Arkansas, two brothers, James Hays of Texarkana, Arkansas, and John Hays of Damascus, Arkansas, three grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be at 10:00 A. M. Thursday at Harmony Grove cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
