Rev. Leroy Sylvester Lacy
Rev. Leroy Sylvester Lacy, age 54, of Marianna, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, in Marianna.
Rev. Lacy was born Feb. 25, 1948, in Palestine. He was a correctional officer and a veteran of the United States Army.
Rev. Lacy is survived by his mother, Nina Bell Wilson of Rockford, Ill.; five sons, Leroy Doyle, Micah Lacy, Marcus Lacy and Maurice Lacy all of Forrest City, and Leroy Sylvester Lacy of Savannah, Ga.; a daughter, Laveta Hunt of Augusta and four grandchildren.
Visitation services for Rev. Lacy will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at 10 a.m. at the Days Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder Samuel Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.

Linda F. Calabrese
Mrs. Linda F. Calabrese, age 54, of Elgin, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
Mrs. Calabrese was born March 15, 1948 in Forrest City, the daughter of William Crowe and Mildred Crowe. She worked at Amax Plating for 18 years, and also worked for Paul's Family Restaurant and was a member of the Twin Oaks Baptist Church of West Dundee, Ill.
Mrs. Calabrese is survived by her husband, Pat Calabrese; one son, Barry Johnson; two stepsons, Frank Calabrese of Lake In The Hills, Ill., Anthony Calabrese of Elgin, Ill.; her mother; three sisters, Vera Northon and Daphene Frost both of Colt, Glenda Frost of Elgin, Ill.; three brothers, J.W. Crowe of Arkansas, Leon Crowe of South Elgin, Ill, Rusty Crowe of Atkinson, Ill.; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Lavern Arneson.
Visitation for Mrs. Calabrese will be held on Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Larid Funeral Home in Elgin, Ill. from 5 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 at the funeral home at 10 a.m. with Rev. Roy Hazlerig officiating.

Jamie Samantha Hutcherson
Jamie Samantha Hutcherson, infant daughter of Gaylon and Leella Brewer Hutcherson, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002 at Bell Cemetery in Paletine. Morgan Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.

Charlie Carroll Knight
Mr. Charlie Carroll Knight, age 79, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Knight was born July 27, 1923, the son of Emmett Knight. He was a self-employed carpenter and a veteran of the United States Navy.
Mr. Knight is survived by three daughters, Myrtle Gracey, Belinda Anderson and Pat Morris all of Forrest City; one brother, Joe Knight; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mr. Knight will be held Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Morgan Chapel with Bro. Wes Beavers officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Alta Dee Belshe Carroll
Mrs. Alta Dee Belshe Carroll, age 92, passed away Saturday, December 21, in hospital.
Mrs. Carroll was born and grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where she was a model and social worker. She lived in Forrest City for 62 years. She was a Speech Therapist for the Forrest City Schools for 13 years, and was in service to her community in numerous other ways. She was a founder of the FC Little Theater and remained as resident director for 15 years. She wrote skits performed locally and gave musical play reviews. She was a Charter Member and first president of the Junior Auxiliary, served as president of Delphian Club and the Garden Gate Garden Club. She was an avid horticulturist and flower arranger.
For years, her home was filled with students taking dramatic lessons or speech corrections. She enjoyed golf with her husband and was an enthusiastic bridge player.
Mrs. Carroll married Richard E. Carroll in 1933, and he preceded her in death in 1984. She is survived by one daughter, Ms. Linda Hasler of Forrest City, one son, Mr. Scott Carroll of Forrest City, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Services for Mrs. Carroll will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 1:00 p.m., Thursday.

Cordie June Matlock
Mrs. Cordie June Matlock, age 59, of Colt, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Matlock was born March 23, 1943, in Hunter, the daughter of Charles Shepherd and Rilla Ashburn Shepherd. She made her home in the Colt area for all of her life and was a housewife.
Mrs. Matlock married J.W. Matlock in 1958 and he survives her along with four daughters, Annette Sherman of Brinkley, Sarah Moll of Morrilton, Teresa O'dell and Donna Stidham both of Colt, two sisters, Betty Shepherd of Forrest City, Louise Carter of Leola; seven brothers, Bud Shepherd and Jack Shepherd both of Florida, Ernest Shepherd and Don Shepherd both of Michigan, Glenn Shepherd of Ft. Smith, Larry Shepherd of Colt and Lonnie Shepherd of Forrest City; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Matlock will be held on Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Stevens Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002 at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Loughridge Cemetery.

Earnest L. Bunch
Mr. Earnest L. Bunch, age 84, of Etowah, Tenn., died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at Woods Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Bunch, the son of Nat and Mary Williams Bunch, was a native of Black Rock and had lived in Etowah for over four years. He was a motel owner and a naval veteran of World War II. He was also a member of Gateway Church of Christ.
Mr. Bunch is survived by a daughter, Helen Smith of Etowah; a son, Jerry Bunch of Springdale; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Bunch and three sisters, Delia Ward, Lillian Clinton and Lorene Martin.
Funeral services for Mr. Bunch will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at 2 p.m. in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home in Etowah with Ministers Bill Corn and Mason Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., prior to the services.

Clinton "Buddy Bell" Culler
Mr. Clinton "Buddy Bell" Culler, age 99, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.
Mr. Culler was born Oct. 6, 1903, in Forrest City, the son of Clinton Culler Sr. and Elise Bell. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Culler will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, from 11:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Beth Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Rayfield Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.

Freddie Ann Dangeau
Mrs. Freddie Ann Dangeau, age 75, of Humboldt, Tenn., died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Mrs. Dangeau was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard R. Porter of Forrest City. She was a graduate of Forrest City High School, attended Williams College in Walnut Ridge, Union University in Jackson, Tenn. and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. She was also very active in church and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Humboldt, Tenn.
Mrs. Dangeau is survived by her husband of 59 years, Rev. Orvind M. Dangeau; a son, Charles Dangeau of Memphis; a daughter, Marcia Garrett of Southhaven, Miss.; two sisters, Rebecca Ann Priddy of Pencil Bluff and Carol Dinkins of Hot Springs Village; one brother, Bobby Zallacher of Illinois and three grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Dangeau will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home in Humboldt, Tenn. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held following at 3 p.m. in Barnishaw Cemetery in Pine Tree.

Robert Lee Higgins Sr.
Mr. Robert Lee Higgins Sr., age 58, of Forrest City, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Higgins was born Sept. 18, 1944, in Forrest City. He was a disabled veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Higgins is survived by two sons, Brian Higgins and Robert Lee Higgins Jr., both of Forrest City; a daughter of Shelia Higgins of Jonesboro; four brothers, Les Nicholes of Forrest City, Charles Higgins of West Memphis, Eddie G. Higgins of Little Rock and Leroy Higgins of San Bernadino, Calif.; four sisters, Judy Anderson of Madison, Annette Stalling of San Bernadino, Calif., and Kim Ella Higgins and Marjorie Smith, both of Forrest City and four grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mr. Higgins will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Christian Redeeming Spiritual Church No. 1 with Rev. Barry Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.

Tolise Allen Tittle
Mrs. Tolise Allen Tittle, age 87, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Tittle was born July 15, 1915, in Colt, the daughter of Howell Allen and Jessie Peevey Allen. She lived in St. Francis County for most of her life and worked for Reltoc Manufacturing for nine years and Forrest Memorial Hospital for 15 years. She was a housewife and a member of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.
Mrs. Tittle married Claude Tittle in 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1988. She is survived by one son, Earl A. Tittle of Forrest City; one daughter, Jo Tittle Keller of Forrest City; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Tittle will be held on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church care of Martha Hite, 57 St. Francis County Road 356, Forrest City, AR 72335.
