Oneida L. Anderson
Mrs. Oneida Lois Anderson, age 70, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Forrest City.
Mrs. Anderson was born Aug. 22, 1931, and was the daughter of Jimmie T. Calloway and Mildred Fryer Calloway. She was a housewife and a member of the Beck Spur Baptist Church.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, R.T. Anderson; a daughter, Francis Oneida Frost; a son, Robert Jim Frost; her parents; and a sister, Ida Ruth Crump.
She is survived by three sons, Leon Anderson, David Anderson and Chester Frost, all of Forrest City; two daughters, Shelia Hill of Heber Springs and Peggy Wiesle of Wheatley; three step-sons, James Anderson, Roy Anderson and Jerry Anderson, all of Forrest City; eight step-daughters, Helen Marrs, Dot Gore, Della Mae Hurd, Kay Ennis and Margaret Busby, all of Forrest City, Sidney Frost of Illinois, Hazel Glaze of Bradford and Helen Moore of Denver City, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Anderson will be held Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at 2 p.m., at Beck Spur Baptist Church, with Bro. Wes Beavers officiating the service. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Gregory Bowman
Mr. Gregory Bowman, age 43, of Los Angeles, Cailf., died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Bowman, born Jan. 14, 1958, in Hughes, was the son of Othello Bowman Sr., of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mary Bowman, of Forrest City. Mr. Bowman was an Army veteran.
Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife, Mamie Bowman of Los Angeles, Calif., two sons, Gregg Bowman and Kraigg Bowman, both of Los Angeles, Calif., two daughters, Euphemia Bowman of Los Angeles and Courtney Grady of Forrest City; his parents; seven sisters, Marie Henry of Benton Harbor, Mich., Rosalyn Patterson of St. Louis, Mo., Barbara Haggins, Debra White, Joyce Cunningham, Sharon Buchanan and Ann Bowman, all of Forrest City; three brothers, Othello Bowman Jr. of Lewisville, Texas, Dennis Bowman of Memphis and Richard Bailey of Forrest City and one grandchild.
Funeral services for Mr. Bowman were held today, Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at 4 p.m. at Summerfield M.B. Church with Rev. Moore officiating. Burial will take place in Los Angeles, Calif, under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Braxton Williams Jr.
Mr. Braxton Williams Jr., age 50, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Forrest City.
Mr. Williams, born June 6, 1951, in Forrest City, was the son of Braxton Williams and Octavia Nesbitt Williams.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharonda Williams of Forrest City and Yolanda Williams of Little Rock; three sons, Cedric Williams of Conway, Fredrick Williams of Jonesboro and Braxton Williams III; 12 sisters, Clarin Williams of Fresno, Calif., Christine Smith, Arnetta Johnson, Marilyn Hamilton, Denetta Williams and Rhonda Brown all of Forrest City, Lucilla Bell, Venecia Williams and Albert Walker, all of Kansas City, Mo., Caffier Curtis of St. Louis, Mo., Pearlie Crain of Indiana and Everlyn McFarland of Oceanside, Calif. and four grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Williams will be Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Church of God with Elder James Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Robert "Bobby" Franks Jr.
Mr. Robert "Bobby" Franks Jr., age 70, of Forrest City, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Franks was born April 9, 1931, in Forrest City, and was the son of Robert Franks Sr., and Martha Miller Franks. He made his home in Forrest City. He was a painter, a member of Widener Baptist Church, a member of the VFW and American Legion, and a veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Franks was preceded in death by his first wife, Janie Tolise Franks in 1987; a daughter, Melissa Hazard in 1997; and one son, Alan Franks in 1997.
He was married to Rita Franks in 1991, and she survives him, along with three sons, Rodney Franks, Billy Franks and Johnny Franks, all of Forrest City; three sisters, Joyce Jackson of Conroe, Texas, Judy Davis of Forrest City, and Lynda Lewis of Romance; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Franks were held today, Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at 2 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Thomason and Bro. Daniel Fryer officiated the service. Burial followed at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

John Sidney "Johnny" Graham
Mr. John Sidney "Johnny" Graham, age 45, of Oneida, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at the Med in Memphis.
Mr. Graham was born Feb. 29, 1956, in Helena, and was the son of Joe Elwood Graham and Helen Randal Graham. He was a timber consultant and a Baptist.
Mr. Graham is survived by his son, John Richard Graham of Lexa; his father; seven brothers, Joe Graham of Oneida, Willie Graham of Batesville, Allen Ray "Buddy" Graham of Montrose, Herbie Graham of Indian Bay, Jerry Graham of Cherry Valley, Billy Graham of Rena Lara, Miss., and Bobby Graham of Holly Grove; seven sisters, Alice Faye Anderson and Mary Smith, both of Marianna, Imogene Watkins and Jackie Graham, both of Gill, Marie Ables of Oneida, Judy Wood of Snow Lake, Miss., and Carolyn Ables of Grenada, Miss.
Visitation with the family of Mr. Graham will be held Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Graham will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at 2 p.m., at Morgan Funeral Home, with Bro. Harold Danley officiating the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in West Helena, under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Melvin Campbell Sr.
Mr. Melvin Campbell Sr., age 80, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Little Rock.
Mr. Campbell was a painter and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Florida Campbell; four daughters, Lora Campbell Duffey of Little Rock, Francine Walker of Desoto, Texas, Deborah Bland of Helena and Sandra Haddon of Garland, Texas; six sons, Ralph Campbell of Boca Raton, Fla., Regional Campbell of Cleveland, Ohio, Jerome Campbell of Kansas City, Mo., Melvin Campbell Jr. of North Little Rock, Malyce Campbell of Little Rock and Rodney Campbell of Cedar Falls, Texas; a sister, Bessie Livingston of Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, Eddie Campbell of Marianna and Marion Campbell of Cleveland, Ohio; 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Campbell will be Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Campbell will be conducted on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at 11 a.m., at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Rev. Eddie King officiating the service. Burial will follow in Paradise Garden Cemetery, under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.

Arthur W. Baldwin
Mr. Arthur W. Baldwin, age 67, of Colt, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis.
Mr. Baldwin was born June 19, 1934, in Tennessee, and was the son of Louis W. Baldwin and Daisy Clement Baldwin. He lived in St. Francis County most of his life, was a carpenter, and attended the Old Time Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Baldwin married Mecial Sanders in 1959, and she survives him along with two sons, Darryl Baldwin of Shearerville and Lewis Baldwin of Colt; a daughter, Kimberly Scott of Colt; his mother, Daisy Baldwin of West Memphis; two brothers, Donald Baldwin of West Memphis and Louis Baldwin of Houston, Miss.; four sisters, Effie Colvin of Memphis, Betty Weatherford of Tennessee, Cora Baldwin and Dora Poole, both of Mississippi and four grandchildren.
Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ernie Gene Cowan
Mr. Ernie Gene Cowan, age 56, of Caldwell, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Mr. Cowan was born Aug. 26, 1945, in Wynne. He lived in the Colt area most of his life and had been an assembly man at Sanyo Manufacturing Corp. and was a peace-time veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Cowan was preceded in death by his father, Ollie Wesley Cowan; his mother, Purcey Lee Hogue Cowan; three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by a son, Erik Wesley Cowan of Colt; four daughters, Lisa Marie Ferguson and Theresa Lynn Anderson, both of Forrest City, Regina Renee Swan of Bald Knob and Tonya Marque Hill of Colt; two brothers, James Allen Cowan of Jonesboro and Billy Rogers Cowan of Melbourne; two sisters, Laverne Cowan Mauffray of Gulf Port, Miss. and Lucille Cowan Rushing of Wynne and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Cowan were held today, Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at Kernodle Funeral Home in Wynne, with Rev. Don Robinson and Rev. Allen Cowan officiating the service. Burial followed in Hughes Cemetery in Forrest City under the direction of Kernodle Funeral Home.

Demingo Leodis Tyler
Mr. Demingo Leodis Tyler, age 25, of Forrest City, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Tyler was born June 27, 1976, in Forrest City.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Tyler of Forrest City; four brothers, Terry Gene Watson, Demitrius R. Tyler and Elcorion Cross, all of Forrest City, and Watson Corey of Marianna; and two sisters, Camille D. Clanton and Temica S. Sargent, both of Forrest City.
A graveside funeral service was held for Mr. Tyler on Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at 10 a.m., at Forrest City Cemetery with Elder Nathaniel Pendleton and Elder John H. Jennings officiating the service, under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Tommy Bargery
Mr. Tommy Bargery, age 62, of Pine Tree, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Bargery was born Aug. 17, 1939, in Memphis, and was the son of George Henry Bargery and Birdie Lee Zachary Bargery. He lived in Parkin and Earle before moving to St. Francis County. Mr. Bargery was a truck driver, a mechanic for D.F. Hammonds, and was a member of the Pine Tree Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Fryer Bargery; one son, Eric Henry Bargery of Pine Tree; one daughter, Laura Lynn Brimhall of Wynne; two brothers, Doyle Bargery of Memphis and Richard Bargery of West Memphis; three sisters, Alice Lavelle Horton of West Memphis, Birdie Catherine Booher and Pat Morgan, both of Memphis; and four grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Bargery will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at 10 a.m., at Pine Tree Baptist Church, with burial following in Barnishaw Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
