Kenneth "Tiny" Harbin
Kenneth "Tiny" Harbin, age 46, of Hallettsville, Texas, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, in Hallettsville.
Mr. Harbin, born June 25, 1955, in Haynes, was the son of Jesse Ben Harbin and Vertie Mae Stidham Harbin. He was a Baptist by faith.
Mr. Harbin is survived by a sister, Tina Nicherson of Arkansas; and three brothers, Larry Harbin of Mississippi, Thomas Harbin of Kansas and Richard Harbin of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Mr. Harbin were held Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Kubena Funeral Home in Hallettsville, Texas with burial following in Geiger Cemetery in Sublime, Texas under the direction of Kubena Funeral Home.

Dulcie O. Jordan
Mrs. Dulcie O. Jordan, age 74, of Forrest City, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, in Memphis.
Mrs. Jordan was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Pangburn, and was the daughter of John W. Aunspaugh and Ollie Jane Turly Aunspaugh. She made her home in Forrest City all of her life, was a housewife and a member of the Revival Tabernacle Church.
Mrs. Jordan married James Jordan in 1946, and he survives her along with two sons, Tommy R. Jordan of Truman and James Keith Jordan of Forrest City; two daughters, Sherry Ann Kennedy of Palestine and Lenita Lynn Malone of Beebe; a sister, Mildred Bowman of Moro; a brother, J.W. Aunspaugh of Forrest City; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jordan were conducted today, Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at Stevens Funeral Home with Bro. Alvin Swan officiating the service. Burial followed at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Jackson Curtright
Mr. Jackson Curtright, age 62, of Wynne, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Mr. Curtright was born Dec. 28, 1939 in Brinkley, and was the son of the late Willard Richard Curtright and Annie Mae Ellen Waggle Curtright. He was owner and operator of Jack's Office Equipment in Wynne and had worked as a printer for the Brinkley Argus newspaper and Flynt Office Supply Co. in Wynne. Mr. Curtright was an elder at the Faith Lutheran Church in Forrest City and was a former member of the Arkansas National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Faith Frese Curtright of Wynne; three daughters, Anna Marie Curtright Robinette of Sandy, Utah, Kristy Michelle Curtright McKnight and Jessica Leigh Curtright, both of Wynne; two sisters, Eva Louise Cox and Shirley Ann Stacey, both of Searcy; and two grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Curtright will be held Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Kernodle Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Curtright will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at 1 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church in Forrest City, with Rev. Leland Elwood Bush officiating the service. Burial will follow in Crosslawn Cemetery in Wynne under the direction of Kernodle Funeral Home.
The family request memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Lutheran Radio Hour.

Alice Alzada Smith
Mrs. Alice Alzada Smith, age 67, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Baptist Hospital-East in Memphis.
Mrs. Smith was born May 30, 1934 in Wynne, and was the daughter of Dyke Andrew Baldwin and Ona Bell Hicks Baldwin. She was a homemaker and lived in St. Francis and Cross County all of her life.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Smith; one son, Mike Smith; a daughter, Linda Davis; her parents; a brother, Clarence Baldwin; and a sister, Laura Bell Baldwin.
She is survived by four sons, Jackie Smith, Ray Smith, Rick Smith and Sammy Smith, all of Colt; three daughters, Jenny Douglas of Forrest City, Polly Douglas of Lewisburg, Tenn. and Lois Morian of Gillett; four brothers, Richard Baldwin of Forrest City, Billy Ray Baldwin of Taoka, Texas, D.A. Baldwin and Donald Gene Baldwin, both of Little Rock; four sisters, Mamie Coleman of Widener, Charlene Melton of Parkin, Betty Ware of Mena and Rose Elkins of North Little Rock; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Smith will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Kernodle Funeral Home in Wynne. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted on Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at 1 p.m., at Kernodle Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Elkins officiating the service. Burial to follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne under the direction of Kernodle Funeral Home.Jackson Curtright

Joseph P. "Joe" Hughes
Mr. Joseph P. "Joe" Hughes, age 82, of Caldwell, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Hughes, born Oct. 13, 1919, in Caldwell, was the son of Jessie P. Hughes and Claudia Belle Trimue Hughes. He lived in Caldwell all of his life and was a retired Borden Milk distributor. He was also a retired fire chief in Caldwell and was a member of Crowley's Ridge Baptist Church.
In 1938, Mr. Hughes married Retha Britton and she preceded him in death in 1999. He is survived by a son, Dr. J. E. Hughes; a brother, Leon Hughes of Caldwell; a sister, Robbie Skelton of Forrest City; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mr. Hughes will be held Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Mr. Hughes will be held, Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Caldwell Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Crowley's Ridge Baptist Church.

Maudie Lee Powell Montgomery
Mrs. Maudie Lee Powell Montgomery, age 91, of Palestine, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.
Mrs. Montgomery, born Aug. 23, 1910, in Arkadelphia, was the daughter of Claude Dean Powell and Estalee Webb Powell. She lived in St. Francis County for most of her life and was a housewife. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Palestine.
In 1928, Mrs. Montgomery married Harris Montgomery and he preceded her in death in 1977. She is survived by two daughters, Pauline Fuller and Joyce Jones both of Palestine; a sister, Thersal Kilgore of Forrest City; 13 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Montgomery was also preceded in death by a daughter, Freeda MacDonald in 1979; and two sons, John Claude Montgomery in 1978 and Leonard Montgomery in 1935.
Funeral services for Mrs. Montgomery will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Jerlean Ford Hall
Mrs. Jerlean Ford Hall, age 59, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Hall was born June 5, 1942, and was the daughter of Elsie Lee Ford Sr. and Dulcia Green. She graduated from Lincoln High School and was a retired teacher from the Dollarway School District in Pine Bluff. Mrs. Hall was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. In 1962 she married Robert Hall Sr.
She is survived by a son, Robert J. Hall Jr. of Clarksville, Tenn; 11 sisters, Shirley Ingram, Betty Smith, Belinda Sanford, all of Forrest City, Lauvenia Ford of Colt, Geraldine Brown and Beverly Smith, both of Little Rock, Eunice Walker of San Diego, Calif., Clarette Haynes of Arlington, Texas, Almeterice Marlowe of Ponway, Calif. and Beulah Guyton and Patricia Ford both of GrandRapids, Mich.; seven brothers, Cornell Smith of Memphis, Rufus Smith of North Little Rock, Elsie Ford, Randy Ford, Gregory Ford and Louis Adams, all of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Sylvester Smith of Tulsa, Okla. and a step-mother, Fannie Ford of Colt.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hall will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at 1:30 p.m., at First Baptist Church with Rev. Smith Foy officiating the service. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery in Caldwell under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Corina King Smith
Mrs. Corina King Smith, age 86, of Mequon, Wisc., formerly of Forrest City, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Mequon Health Care.
Mrs. Smith was born April 21, 1915, in Palestine, and was the daughter of Neely King and Susie Freeman King Bootee.
She is survived by two daughters, Enoka Nixon of Milwaukee, Wisc. and Carla Sanders of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Smith will be Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at 12 p.m., at the Rising Sun M.B. Church with Rev. John Strong officiating the service. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

George L. Lalman
Mr. George L. Lalman, age 81, of Palestine, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at the Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis.
Mr. Lalman was born July 10, 1920, in McAlester, Okla., and was the son of the late George Edward and Ida Mae Woods Lalman. He was a farmer, a member of the Palestine Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a 32nd Degree Mason, former member of the Palestine Lions Club, and former chairman of the board of St. Francis County Farmers Association.
Mr. Lalman is survived by his wife, Billie Warren Lalman of Palestine; one son, Tommy Lalman of Palestine; one step-daughter, Terry Roberts of Forrest City; one brother, Howard Lalman of McAlester, Okla.; a sister, Ruth Christian of Hot Springs; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Mr. Lalman were held today, Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at 2 p.m., at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Palestine, with Bro. Steve Turner officiating the service. Burial followed in Johnston Cemetery in Wheatley, with Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be sent in lieu of flowers to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 98, Palestine, AR., 72372, or to the Johnston Cemetery Association, c/o First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas, Wheatley, AR., 72392.
