Edith Bell Porter
Edith Bell Porter, age 87, of Forrest City, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Crestpark Retirement Inn.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Russell in 1974, and two sons Willie Porter in 1999, and Jerry Porter in 1975.
She is survived by her sister Pecolar Jones of Chicago, Ill; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Kennedy Chapel from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 22, at Salem M.B. Church at 1 p.m. with Rev. Felix Duckworth officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.

Brenda K. Jayroe
Mrs. Brenda K. Jayroe, age 48, of Forrest City, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at the Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis.
She was born Oct. 27, 1951, in Flint, Mich., and was the daughter of Harold Ruff and Ona Kiefner Ruff. She had lived in Forrest City for the past 31 years, was office manager for Jayroe and Company Accountant and was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Forrest City.
She married Rev. Aubrey L. Jayroe in 1971, and he survives her along with a son, Trent Jayroe of Forrest City; a sister, Janet Hicks of Forrest City; a brother, Rev. Fred Ruff of Mountain Home; and her mother, Ona Ruff of Forrest City.
Funeral services were held today, Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at the First Pentecostal Church in Forrest City at 1 p.m. Burial followed in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

John Fulbright Felton
Mr. John Fulbright Felton of Eva, Tenn., died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis. He was 62.
Mr. Felton was born Sept. 2, 1937, the son of Felecia Curtis Felton and Dan Felton Sr. He graduated from T.A. Futrall High School in Marianna in 1955, and was a 1959 graduate of Mississippi State University.
Mr. Felton married Ann Stone Felton of Memphis, and for 20 years was active in the farming operations at Felton in Lee County. He was an active member of the First Christian Church in Marianna, and was a member of the Lee County Soil Conservation Board for 12 years.
In 1994, Mr. Felton and his wife moved to Eva, Tenn., where he enjoyed fishing and many other outdoor activities. He was also active in the Eva Methodist Church.
Mr. Felton is survived by his wife, Ann; two children, John Robert Felton of Felton and Felecia F. Bradshaw of Marion; one brother, Dan Felton Jr., of Felton; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Amy Helen Felton and Mary Catherine F. Nowlin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at the First Christian Church in Marianna with Rev. Max Goins, Rev. Johnnie Arnold and Cliff Allen officiating. Burial will be in Marianna Memorial Park under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of Marianna.
The family requests memorials be made to the First Christian Church in Marianna.

Edward Lee Hendrix
Mr. Edward Lee Hendrix, age 53, of Palestine, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at his home.
He was born in Monroe, on July 27, 1946, to Hershell Hendrix and Pauline Hendrix. He was a farmer, an avid fisherman and hunter. He lived in Palestine for five years and was a Pentecost.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hershell Hendrix.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline Hendrix of Palestine; his wife, Rachel Jeanette Hendrix of Palestine; three sons, James Hendrix, Jason Hendrix and Jerry Hendrix all of Fayetteville; a daughter, Loretta Ann Hendrix of Palestine; a brother, Roy Hendrix of Madina, Ohio; three sisters, Carolyn Fong of Marianna, Joyce Ann Fought of Moro, and Linda Hayes of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is today, Wednesday, Jan. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley.
Services will be Thursday, Jan. 27, at 10 a.m. at Fowler Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Parrish Officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro under the direction of Fowler Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to the Hospice Foundation at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Evelyn E. Brimhall
Evelyn E. Brimhall, age 71, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Brimhall was born Jan. 21, 1928, in Brinkley, and was the daughter of William Campbell Sr. and Lena Lee Acuff Campbell. She lived in St. Francis County for most of her life, was retired from Reltoc Manufacturing and attended the Madison Baptist Church.
She married Thomas Brimhall in 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1986.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Brimhall of Jonesboro and William Brimhall of Forrest City; three daughters, Susie Lee Treece of Calico Rock, Darlene Goins of Forrest City and C. Dianne Smith of McAllen , Texas; one brother, William Campbell Jr. of Calif.; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held today at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Forrest Park Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Bernice P. Clark
Bernice P. Clark, age 89, of Weatherford, Texas, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, in a Weatherford Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 9, 1910, in Savannah, Tenn. She was a homemaker, a cashier for IGA in Missouri and a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Doris Smotherman of Weatherford, Texas and Mary Swatloski of Forrest City; two sisters, Dean Williams of Wardell, Mo., and Dorothy Bean of Risco, Mo.; one brother, Frank Alexander of Yucaipa, Calif.; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Clark in 1982 and two brothers, Jack and Joe Alexander.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Pemiscot Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville, Mo.
Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Home Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Howard Glenn Exum II
Howard Glenn Exum II, age 26, of Caldwell, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at his home.
He was a 1991 graduate of Forrest City High School where he was participated in drama, FFA and playing in the band. He also attended East Arkansas Community College.
He is survived by his parents, Howard Glenn and Edna Faye Exum I of Caldwell; his grandfather, Orville Archer of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Thompson-Wilson Wynne Chapel at 2 p.m. with burial following in Lindsey Cemetery. Thompson-Wilson Funeral Directors of Wynne and McCrory were in charge of the arrangements.

Ardella "Della" Ferguson
Ardella "Della" Ferguson, age 83, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Crest Park Retirement Inn in Forrest City.
Mrs. Ferguson was born April 7, 1916, in Little Rock. She spent most of her life in Caldwell and was a housewife. She married Gene Preutiss Ferguson in 1935.
She is survived by her husband Gene Ferguson of Forrest City; a son Gene Ferguson of Abbingdon, Md.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held graveside Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Crittendon Memorial Park in West Memphis under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
