Cecil Aldridge Sr.
Mr. Cecil Aldridge Sr., age 59, of Wynne, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at Three River Nursing Home in Marked Tree.
Mr. Aldridge was a former employee of Yale Hoist where he worked for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Aldridge of Forrest City; six daughters, Lisa Aldridge of Little Rock; Shawntina Turner of Hope, Charlotte Aldridge of Wynne, Phyllis Aldridge of Chicago, Ill., Angela Anderson of Forrest City and Patricia Millbrook of Ruston, La.; seven sons, Cecil Aldridge Jr., Randy Millbrook and David Millbrook, all of Forrest City, Malcolm Aldridge of Wynne, Keith Richardson of Dallas, Texas, Santana Smith of Searcy and Dewayne Millbrook of Jacksonville; four sisters, Patsy Aldridge of Chicago, Ill., Margaret Levesque, Sharon Aldridge and Jacqueline Brownlee, all of Toledo, Ohio; four brothers, Mangle Aldridge Jr., Charles Aldridge and Lee Walker, all of Wynne and Melvin Aldridge of Toledo, Ohio and 26 grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Aldridge will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Woodard Funeral Home in Wynne. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at 1 p.m., at Caldwell M.B. Church in Vanndale under the direction of Woodard Funeral Home.

Myrtis Dotson
Mrs. Myrtis Dotson, age 72, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Dotson, born July 30, 1929, was a retired nurses aid at Forrest Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, James Dotson of the home; five daughters, Rose Mary Simmons, Debra Dotson, Vernice Dotson, Sharon Dotson and Gwendolyn Dotson, all of Pine Bluff; four sons, Larry Dotson of Little Rock, Leon Dotson of St. Louis, Mo., Harold Dotson of Jonesboro and Thomas Dotson of Forrest City; four sisters, Thelma Coleman of Los Angeles, Calif., Deloise Tyler of Memphis, Annie Brown, of Dallas, Texas and Tolise Bingham of St. Louis, Mo.; six brothers, Henry Brown Jr., Charlie Brown, Andrew Brown, Winston Brown, Silas Brown and Houston Brown, all of Forrest City and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dotson will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at 12 p.m. at Days Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder John Henry Jennings officiating with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in the Tuni Community under the direction of Clay Funeral Home. A wake will be held Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Chaple of Clay Funeral Home.

Lucy Ann Evans
Ms. Lucy Ann Evans, age 77, of Marianna, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, in Memphis.
Ms. Evans, a homemaker, was born Sept. 9, 1923, in Greenview, Ill., to Elmer Evans and Estella Blaine Evans. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marianna.
Mrs. Evans is survived by a sister-in-law, Catherine Evans of Marianna and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Ms. Evans were held Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at Marianna Memorial Park in Marianna with Heath Harper officiating. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of Marianna was in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorials be sent to First Presbyterian Church in Marianna.

Charles Dale Turner
Mr. Charles Dale Turner, age 70, of Marianna, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001 at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
Mr. Turner, born Oct. 3, 1930, in Chester, was the son of Charles Turner and Pearl Poor Turner. He lived in the Forrest City area for most of his life and was in the lumber business. He was also a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion, the Elk Club and was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.
Mr. Turner is survived by two son, Charles Turner of Ohio and Dr. Robert Turner of Tennessee; four daughters, Teresa Turner-Rowe of Reno, Patti Long of Forrest City, Laura Turner-McCullough of Minnesota and Ruth Landis of Texas; three brothers, Alvin Turner of Fayetteville, Darrell Turner of Louisiana and Donnie Turner of California; two sisters, Helen Helwig and Ina Couch, both of California; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
There was a graveside funeral service for Mr. Turner held today, Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at Bell Cemetery in Palestine. Stevens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorials be made to the Faith Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Lillian Hilliard
Mrs. Lillian Hilliard, age 81, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Hilliard, born Sept. 19, 1919, in St. Louis, Mo. was the daughter of Frank Williams and Parthenia Smith Williams. She is survived by her husband, Leo Hilliard of Forrest City and a host of relatives.
Visitation services for Mrs. Hilliard will be held Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services for Mrs. Hilliard will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Prosperity M.B. Church with Rev. S.W. Baker Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

William Thomas Schmitz
Mr. William Thomas Schmitz, age 63, of Brentwood, Tenn., died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001.
Mr. Schmitz was the son of the late Loyce Oliver Schmitz of Caldwell and Winnie Aston Schmitz Edgar of Forrest City. He was an attorney in Nashville, Tenn.
Mr. Schmitz is survived by seven children, Christie Konen, Leslee Garza, Charles Schmitz, Michael Schmitz, Michelle Jones, Brian Schmitz and Cara Schmitz; two sisters, Jean Schmitz Davis and Ruth Ann Edgar Overturf and nine grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Schmitz will be held Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Crawford Mortuary and Crematory. Funeral services and Burial will be Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at 1 p.m., at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Crawford Mortuary and Crematory.
The family request memorial contributions be donated in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society.

Ira Carruth
Mrs. Ira Carruth, age 93, of Forrest City died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Carruth, born April 8, 1908, in Colt, was a retired housekeeper.
She is survived by a brother, Jimmy Lee Stegall of Forrest City; two sisters, Mattie Spearmon of Forrest City and L.B. Hannah of Detroit, Mich.; three grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Carruth will be held Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at St., at 1 p.m., at Paul M.B. Church . with Rev. Gay, officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Gerldene Hatch
Miss Gerldene Hatch, age 61, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
Miss Hatch, born May 16, 1940, in Crocketts Bluff, was a retired teacher's aid.
She is survived by a daughter Sonya Hatch of Glen Burnie, Md.
Funeral services for Miss Hatch will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Salem M.B. Church. Burial will follow at St. Olive Cemetery in Crocketts Bluff. There will be two visitation services for Miss Hatch, the first held Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. The second service will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Salem M.B. Church. Clay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lonnie Shockley Sr.
Mr. Lonnie Shockley Sr., age 78, of Cotton Plant, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy.
Mr. Shockley, a United States Army veteran, was born Feb. 6, 1923, to James Dotson and Viola Shockley. He lived most of his life in the McCrory and Cotton Plant areas.
In 1944 Mr. Shockley marred Ernestine Austin, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two children. He is survived by seven sons, Leonard Shockley of Des Arc, James Shockley, Frank Shockley, Lonnie Shockley and Sylvester Shockley, all of Cotton Plant, Melvin Shockley of Scotts Bluff, Neb. and Robert Shockley of Stuttgart; three daughters, Dorthene Chunn of Marshal Town, Iowa, Willie Mae Jones of Chicago and Geneva Shockley of Cotton Plant; a sister, Almond Thompson of Sherwood; 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Shockley will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at 11 a.m.. at Trice Chapel M.B. Church in Cotton Plant with Elder Robert Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Cotton Plant under the direction of McNeal Funeral Home, Inc. of Brinkley.
