Tony Ray Easley
Mr. Tony Ray Easley, age 42, of Little Rock, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001.
Mr. Easley, formerly of Colt, was born July 31, 1958. He was the son of John Easley and Velda Mize Easley. He was a truck driver.
Mr. Easley is survived by his parents, a daughter, Holly Easley of Jonesboro; four brothers, Chris Easley of Monette, Johnny Pat Easley of Millington, Tenn., Johnny Dean Easley of Colt and Roger Easley of North Little Rock; two sisters, Teresa Hamilton of McCrory and Cathy Shaw of North Little Rock.
Memorial services for Mr. Easley will be Sunday, March 4, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Morgan Chapel. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

James A. Wilson
Mr. James A. Wilson, age 60, of Cabot, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001.
Mr. Wilson was a United States Army Veteran. He worked for Fones Brothers Distributing for 30 years and Southern Hardware for 10 years. He was a member of the Cabot Deer Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife Betty Fowler Wilson of the home; a son, Tony Wilson of Cabot; a daughter, Michelle Bear of Cabot; his mother, Eunice Lunsford of Morrilton; his stepfather Amos Lunsford of Morrilton; three brothers, Doyle Wilson of Little Rock, Carl Wilson of North Little Rock, Steve Wilson of Springdale; a sister, Letha Tasler of Cabot and six grandsons. He was preceded in death by his father, Lon Wilson and a brother, Opie McDonald.
Visitation for Mr. Wilson will be Friday, March 2, 2001, from 2 to 9 p.m. in the Chapel of Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Wilson are scheduled for Saturday, March 3, 2001, at 1 p.m. at the Cabot Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Mt. Springs Cemetery under the direction of Cabot Funeral Home.

Samuel E. Johnson
Mr. Samuel E. Johnson, age 68, of Forrest City died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest City.
Mr. Johnson was a retired assistant superintendent in the Forrest City School District where he had worked for more than 40 years.
Mr. Johnson was an active member of the St. Luke A.M.E. Church where he served as steward, the official building director, Sunday School teacher and assistant Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a member of the Phi Beta Sigma and the national director of the Holly Grove Homecoming Club.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie D. Johnson of Forrest City; two daughters, Vanessa Thomas of Tulsa, Okla., and Bonita Johnson of Nashville, Tenn., and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Kennedy Funeral Home in Forrest City, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at St. Luke A.M.E. Church.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at the St. Luke A.M.E. Church. Burial will follow in Paradise Garden Cemetery in Edmondson under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.

Charles Skinner Shivley
Mr. Charles Skinner Shivley, age 90, of Little Rock died Sunday, March 18, 2001.
Mr. Shivley was born May 21, 1910 in Pocahontas, the son of John R. and Nicie Jane (Hawkins) Shivley. He served three years in the Coast Guard during World War II. He retired from Civil Service with the Department of Agriculture and the Veterans Administration after 40 years of service in Newport, Rison, Forrest City, Pine Bluff, Fort Smith and Little Rock and Manila, Philippines.
Mr. Shivley was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and held offices at the local, district and conference levels. He was a delegate four time to the General Conference of the Methodist Church, which included the Unification Conference of the United Brethren and Methodist Churches.
Survivors include his wife, Lucile Esmon Shivley, and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held today, March 20, 2001, at the Highland Valley United Methodist Church with Dr. Kurt Boggan and Rev. Lehman Webb officiating.
The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to the Highland Valley United Methodist Church, Hendrix College, Alzheimer's Association, Heifer Project International or the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Learline Johnson
Mrs. Learline Johnson, age 69, of Colt, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 18, 1931, in Marianna. She was the daughter of Dalton Conner and Mona Veachel Vann. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of Oak Hill Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, Harold D. Johnson of Aubrey; three sons, Harold Duane Johnson and James R. Johnson, both of Marianna and John B. Johnson of Lufkin, Texas; two sisters, Dana Boehm of Pea Ridge and Peggy Shank of Little Rock; four brothers, George Conner of El Dorado, Bennie Conner of Barling, Noel Conner of Marianna and Glenn Conner of Durant, Okla.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 22, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Chapel Funeral Home in Marianna, with the Rev. William Witcher officiating. Burial will follow in Marianna Memorial Park Cemetery with Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Hazel New Bishop
Mrs. Hazel New Bishop, age 92, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001.
Mrs. Bishop was born on May 27, 1908, in Enders. She was the daughter of Samuel Jasper New and Lela Elizabeth Tillery New. Mrs. Bishop made her home in Forrest City most of her life and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was retired from the Conway Human Development Center.
Mrs. Bishop married to C.C. Bishop in 1931, and he preceded her in death in 1981. She is survived by a son, Carroll Bishop of Forrest City; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 22, 2001, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday, March 23, 2001, at 10 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with the Rev. Harrell Herring and Rev. Dustin Lemkie officiating. There will be a graveside service in Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway at 3 p.m. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Chester Davis
Mr. Chester Davis, aged 56, of Forrest City, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Methodist Central in Memphis.
Mr. Davis was born Sept. 16, 1944, in Forrest City, the son of Nathaniel Davis Sr. and Drucilla Cannad Davis. He was a member of Shady Grove M.B. Church.
Survivors include his wife, Loristine Johnson Davis of Forrest City; a daughter, Pamela Davis of Omaha, Neb.; six sons, Tyrone Davis, Michael Davis, Curtis Davis, and Demaco Johnson all of Forrest City, Chester Davis Jr. of Omaha and Tony Johnson of Lafayette, Ind.; a sister, Cordelia Davis of Albany, N.Y.; eight brothers, Richard Davis and Terry Davis both of Haynes, Roosevelt Davis of Forrest City, Raymond Davis, Bobby Davis and Willie L. Davis all of Wynne, Nathaniel Davis Jr. of Memphis and Eugene Davis of Chicago; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 23, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be Satuday, March 24, at noon at Christ Temple Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Ulysses Cothran officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Clara M. Jones West
Mrs. Clara M. Jones West, aged 56, of Chicago, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. West was born Jan. 12, 1945, in Forrest City, the daughter of Sammie Jones Sr. and Sarah Henry Jones.
Survivors include her mother; two daughters, Bernetta West and Sharon Woodfolk, both of Chicago; three sons, Johnny West Jr. of Chicago, and Edward West and Roy West, both of Staples, Minn.; four sisters, Carolyn Sims of St. Louis, Shirley Davenport of Little Rock, and Mary McCurry and Angela Bean, both of Forrest City; six brothers, Clarence Henry and Mack Jones, both of Chicago, Clyde Jones of St. Louis, Charles Jones of Milwaukee, Wis., Rufus Jones of Forrest City and Ryce E. Jones of Little Rock; and 18 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. West will be held Satuday, March 24, 2001, at 4 p.m. at the Rising Sun M.B. Church, with the Rev. John Strong Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery, under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

John H. Grady
Mr. John H. Grady, age 47 of Wright City, Mo., formerly of Forrest City, died Thursday, March 22, 2001 at his home.
Mr. Grady was born and raised in Forrest City and graduated from Forrest City High School in 1971.
He is survived by his mother, Pearl Grady of Forrest City; one daughter, Stephanie Grady of Forrest City; three sons, Victor Grady, John Grady, Jr. and Nicholas Grady, all of Forrest City; six sisters and five brothers.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Grady have not been completed at this time.

Ora Lee Williams
Mrs. Ora Lee Williams, age 79, of Forrest City, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 18, 1922 in Forrest City. She was the daughter of Sid Wymes and Sarah Murry Wymes.
Mrs. Williams is survived by two daughters, Sharon Williams of Forrest City and Mercie Rucker of St. Louis, Mo.; six sons, Jesse Phillips, Charles Phillips, both of St. Louis, Mo., John H. Phillips of Chicago, Ill., James Williams, Charlie Williams and Mozel Williams, all of Forrest City; two brothers, John Wymes of Forrest City and James Wymes of Little Rock and 30 grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Williams will be Saturday, March 24, 2001, from noon to 5 p.m. in the chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be Sunday, March 25, 2001, at noon in the Pine Tree Church of God in Christ with Elder Verlee Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.
