Herbert Griffin
CLARKSVILLE - Herbert Arch Griffin Sr., 93, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Clarksville, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Spring Gate Nursing Home in Memphis.
He was owner/operator of a sawmill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Henry and Ruby Lillian Harvey Griffin; and his wife, Mamie Lee Clark Griffin.
Survivors include a son, Herbert Arch Griffin Jr. of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Penny Sue Griffin Henson of Deer Park, Texas; brothers, Thomas Henry Griffin Jr. of Kyle, Texas, Marvin 'Bud' Edward Griffin of Bedford, Ind., Glen Houston Griffin of Kansas City, Mo., and Carl Lee 'Dub' Griffin of Puxico, Mo.; sisters, Edith Pauline Parks of Puxico, Mo., and Wanda Anijean Sanders Roberts and Dorothy May Arnold of Bedford, Ind.; two grandchildren, Judeah Diane Griffin Yarbro of Memphis, Tenn., and Amanda Sue Henson of Deer Park, Texas.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Roller-Cox Chapel with the Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are by Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Larry Arnold, Carl Lee Griffin, Bobby Boen, Glen Griffin, Marvin Griffin and Larry Henson.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Lewis Billings Sr.
Lewis W. Billings Sr., 89, a resident of Russellville died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
He was born Oct. 31, 1918, at Newton, Ill., to Lewis Elijah and Margaret India Jenkins Billings. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a guidance counselor at Crossett Public Schools for 16 years and at Russellville Public Schools for 14 years; and a member of the community chorus for 35 years. He loved to garden and was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Russellville. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Martha Ann McCarthy; a half-brother, Claude Earl Billings; and two half-sisters, Hazel Sullivan and Myrtle Celarier.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Martha Billings of Russellville; a son and daughter-in-law, Lewis Billings Jr. and Patricia of Livingston, Texas; three brothers, Dr. James J. Billings of Las Cruses, N.M., and David Neal and John Billings, both of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Lewis Billings III, Mathew Carrol Billings, Carol McCarthy and Mary McCarthy; and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Otis Mackey officiating. Burial will follow in Booher Cemetery with military honors provided by the Veterans of Foreign War Rogers-Rye Post 2283. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Memorials may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1200 N. Arkansas Ave., Russellville, AR 72801.

Kenneth Turner
CLARKSVILLE - Kenneth William Turner, 83, of Lamar died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville.
He was born Feb. 12, 1925, in Hiawatha, Kan., and was a saw miller and logger and a member of Bunch-Walton Post 22 of the American Legion and Lamar Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Burl and Lena Pearl Turner; wife, Dorothy Turner; son, James Dale Turner; and three brothers, Ray, Fay and Arnold Turner.
Survivors include a son, Bill Turner of Lamar; daughters, Kathy Dyer, Lynne Nichols and Rita Kraus, all of Lamar; brothers, Ottis Turner of Portland, Ore., and Burl Wayne Turner of Pomona, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, Jamie Taylor, Becky Taylor, Erica Thomas, Alfred Milam, Shauna Milam, Matt Needham, Ashley Stewart, K.T. Turner, Ryan Turner, William Turner and Cody Kraus; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel with Brother Vernon Bass officiating. Burial will be in Reynolds Cemetery by Roller-Cox Funeral Service.
Pallbearers:
Active - Jamie Taylor, K.T. Turner, Ryan Turner, William Turner, Cody Kraus and Jerry Davis.
Honorary - Jerry Killough, Wayne Wilkins, Bud Parker, Harold Parker, Allen Thomas and Rowdy Hodges.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the funeral home.

Deborah Molder
CLARKSVILLE - Deborah A. Molder, 51, of Altus died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 1, 1956, and was preceded in death by her father, Tommey Franklin Willis and a brother, Tommey Ray Willis.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Molder Sr. of Altus; her mother, Modena W. Smith of Knoxville; a son, Gary Mike Molder Jr. of Altus; a sister, Carolyn Rhoads of Las Vegas, Nev.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Roller-Cox Funeral Home with the Rev. George Willis officiating. Burial will be in Deer Cemetery at Deer. Arrangements are by Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Jane Keenan
Jane Jones Keenan, 95, of Pottsville died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
The daughter of Alexander Marshall and Avice Idona Kindrick Jones, she was born May 16, 1912, in Pope County. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and was a registered nurse. She married George Wendell Keenan on Sept. 14, 1940 in Tucumcari, N.M., and they lived in Clovis, N.M., until moving to Pottsville in 1971. Jane was a member of the Mars Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Wendell Keenan; four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include a son, George Keenan and wife, Glenda, of Oxford, Miss.; a daughter, Peggye Cluck and husband, John, of Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren, Amye Brewer of Short Hills, N.J., Hannah Cluck of Republic of the Congo, Karl Keenan Cluck of Shanghai, China, Matt Keenan of Birmingham, Ala., Johnathan Keenan of Charlotte, N.C., and Annie Pons of Washington, DC.; four great-grandchildren, Jane Katherine Brewer and Evan Michael Brewer of Short Hills, and Ella Flowers Keenan and Frances Harper Keenan of Birmingham; one brother, Billy Warren Jones of Pottsville; one sister, Nell Norris of Pottsville; a nephew and niece, William and Martha Jones; and many other loving nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Bowden Cemetery in Pottsville with the Rev. Bill Moody officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.

Vada Almond
Vada Lee Almond, age 98, of Russellville, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Stella Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A daughter of the late Phillip and Hattie Duncan Montgomery, she was born Dec. 20, 1909, at Bismarck, Ark. Before her retirement, she was a buyer for Sears in Little Rock. She was an avid reader and really liked to solve advanced crossword puzzles. She was a member of Winans Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Hot Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester Lee Almond; two daughters, a granddaughter, four brothers and a sister.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Lee and Marie Almond of Russellville; four grandchildren: Tiffany Almond Lutrell and her husband, Russ, of Russellville, Charles Hamby and his wife, Jan, of Cabot, Allen Hamby and his wife, Ronaee' of Bryant, and Sharon LaBruno and her husband, Rick, of Dalzell, S.C.; 12 great-grandchildren, including Allison Grace Lutrell of Russellville; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
The graveside service and burial will be conducted by Shinn Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at DeRoche Cemetery near Bismarck. Bro. Chris Morrison will officiate.
Honorary pallbearer will be her sister-in-law, Willie Montgomery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653.

Harold Dixon
Harold Udell Dixon, age 82, of Little Rock, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at the Hospice Home Care Inpatient Facility.
A son of the late Buford and Othel Kendrick Dixon, he was born Sept. 29, 1925, in Russellville. He was a retired florist and U.S. Postal clerk, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans in Conway, and the Legion Hut in Little Rock. He was a member of the Chicot Road Baptist Church of Little Rock. He was also preceded in death by a son, Johnny Leonard Dixon, and two brothers, David Houston Dixon and Olan James Bowden.
Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Mildred L. Dixon; a sister, Frances Helen Donahou of Russellville; five grandchildren, Katrinka Mondy of Little Rock, Harold Oneil Dixon of Mabelvale, Lucinda Cathaleen Wilder of Little Rock, Johnny Leonard Dixon Jr. of Mayflower and Shawn Michael Dixon of Kenosha, Wisc.; and two great-grandchildren, Geni Cathaleen Wilder and Larry Wayne Wilder, both of Cabot.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by Bro. Sam Whitlow. Burial in Oakland Cemetery will be by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 this morning at the funeral home.
