GAFFNEY, Alice M., 85, born December 1, 1914, died April 10, 2000 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, AZ. Alice was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chicago, IL. She served with the Women's Army Corps Service. Alice was a court reporter for the Social Security Administration and was a legal secretary for 20 years. She was a master bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs. Her sister, Laura Gaffney preceded her in death in October, 1997. She is survived by a friend who cared for her, Letitia Sheats of Chicago, IL. Visitation will be Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at Alexander East Chapel, Evansville, IN, with Rev. Joe L. Mitchell officiating. Burial to follow at Oakhill cemetery in Evansville, IN. Donations may be made to Women's Army Corps Veterans Association, National Office, P.O. Box 5577, Ft. McClellan, AL, 36205.

GLEN HARRIS - Glenwood Francis Harris, 84, a resident of Tucson since 1988, on April 12, 2000 was released from the restrictions placed on him by Parkinson's Disease, and joined Lanora Harris, who had succumbed to Parkinson's Disease on June 14, 1997. Glen and Lanora had been active in the United Methodist Church in the various cities in which they had lived: Tulsa, Kansas City, Birmingham (AL), Houston and Tucson. He is predeceased by Earl, his youngest brother, by their parents, by Sabrina Wilson, his granddaughter, and John Wilson, her father. Survivors include his brother, Fred of St. Louis and Glen and Lanora's three daughters: Elaine (Steve) Hedden of Tucson, grandsons, Trevor of Tucson and Jared of Los Angeles, daughter Wanda (Adrian) Manktelow of Dartmouth, grandson, David (Jane) Manktelow; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Aimee, Rebecca and Kathryn, granddaughter, Anita (Philip) Hutson, and great-granddaughter, Melanie Sabrina. Grandson, Paul (Donna) Manktelow and great-granddaughters Ashleigh and Natasha, all of England, and daughter, Frieda (Jack) Skinner of Tucson, grandson, Rob (Tammy) Skinner, great-grandson Travis of Tucson, granddaughter, Jill (Carl) Bowen, great granddaughter, Layni of Phoenix, grandson, Jeff (Linda) Skinner of Houston, TX and great-granddaughters daughter Emily and Kaitlyn.
Glen is also survived by two of Lanora's sisters: Ara Mae (Wayne) Calhoun of Mesa, Arizona and Genevieve (Ralph) Scott of Bella Vista, Arkansas.
Born in Ponder, Missouri on October 22, 1915, Glen graduated from Tulsa Central High School and soon thereafter began a long association with Linde, a division of Union Carbide. That association ended in 1978, when he retired as Plant Manager of the Linde office in Houston, TX. After retirement, Glen and Lanora moved to Tucson.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 16, 2000 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge. A Graveside Service will be held, Monday, April 17, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in East Lawn Palms cemetery, with Memorial Services to follow at 2:00 in Christ Church United Methodist. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.

DAVID JONES - Born August 24, 1966, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2000. Survived by parents, Joe and Naomi Jones; brothers, Stephen and Jeremy; niece, Shonda. David is dearly loved by his family and friends. Memorial service 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 15 at Pantano Christian Church, Houghton at 29th, with Pastor Walt Tatham officiating. Burial East Lawn Palms cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Beacon Foundation. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

NORMA LEESSON, 72, died April 11, 2000. Mother of Ronald C. Leeson; sister of Mary Lou (Alex) Radak and Donald R. (Jo Anne) Ciolli; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was a resident at Life Care Center for the last year. Mass will be offered 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2000 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb. Donations in Norma's memory may be made to the Parkinsons Disease Association, 2501 E. Elm, Tucson, Arizona 85716. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

MAUGHAN, O. Eugene, age 57, of Tucson, Arizona for 13 years, formerly of Oklahoma, died on April 12, 2000. Survived by wife, Ludean Maughan; daughters, Terry Lynn Weathers of Kansas City, KS, Cindy Jean DeFranco of Dallas Fort Worth, TX and Kimberly Dene Provencio of Phoenix, AZ; sons, James Benjamin Maughan of Tucson, AZ and Robert Samuel Maughan of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Summer Nichole Lopez of Tucson, AZ; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Flora Eck of Ogden, UT, Marlene Eck of Polaris, MT and Elaine Pederson of Farmington, NM. He was affiliated with Coop Fishery and a Wildlife Unit Leader at the U of A. Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2000 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 17699 S. Camino Las Quintas Street, Sahuarita, AZ. Interment will be in Westop, Idaho. Remembrances may be made to American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Green Valley Mortuary & Memorial Gardens.

NEUBAUER, Werner A., 55, of Willcox, AZ, died April 12, 2000. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. SHAFFER, Jack G., 80, passed away April 13, 2000. Survived by wife, Anne; daughter, Anne (Ted) Willis all of Tucson; son, Bob (Pamela Bennett) Shaffer of California; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2000 at the Craycroft Baptist Church, 5729 East 22nd Street, with Rev. David Larson officiating. Remembrances may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship. Arrangements by HUDGEL'S SWAN FUNERAL HOME.

SHAPIRO, Naomi, 96, a Tucson resident since 1973, died Monday, April 10, 2000. Naomi and her sister, Edith ('The Girls') moved to Tucson from their native Bronx, New York, after Naomi retired from a 40-year career at The Book-of-the-Month Club. She never married and devoted herself to her parents, her sister Edith (her devoted life partner for 91 of her 96 years), her other siblings and their children, and her friends.
Besides her sister Edith, she is survived by nieces, Dale (Martin) Levy of Tucson, Rita Margolyes of Phoenix, Judy (Elliott) Eisenbach of New York City, and Francis (Larry) Kochis of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and nephews, Jeffrey (Harrie) Handler of Tucson and Carl (Judy) Shapiro of Mountainside, N.J. She is also survived by 16 great-nieces and nephews and 12 great-great-nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 16, at 4:00 p.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, Rabbi Stephanie Aaron of Congregation Chaverim officiating. Donations to Hadassah, c/o Rubye Bergman, 8801 E. Colette St., 85710, the Alzheimer's Association of Southern Arizona, or any other charity would be appreciated.

LAWRENCE M. STROHEN - Larry passed away on April 11, 2000 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 19, 1957, moved to Tucson May 1990. preceded in death by his father, Albin. Beloved and loving husband to Laura. A wonderful and loving father to Monica. Son to Helen Strohen. Son-in-law (who was just like a son to them) to Frank and Fran Kastelic. Brother to Al Strohen. Brother-in-law to Kay Strohen, Linda and Mike Wolski, Nancy and Joe Brecelj, Robert and Rebecca Kastelic. Loving grandson-in-law to Ann Sasfy. Uncle to Liz and Brooke Strohen, Christina, Valerie and Joey Brecelj, Mikey, Liz, and Holly Wolski. Larry touched the hearts of so many people. He was a kind, caring, and loving husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by many but he will live in the hearts of us all. Larry We Love You. MARIA 'SANTA' VALENCIA, 67, of Tucson, died Monday, April 10, 2000. She is loved and will be missed by her husband, Manuel; daughters, Dalia (Joe) Gastello, Nellie (George) Rojas; grandchildren, Laura, Celyna, Amanda, Joe, Rosemary, Stevie-Ray; brother, Jose; sisters, Dolores, Adelina, Carmen, Esperanza; very close friends, Amy and Mariana; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. An all night wake will begin at 4:00 p.m., with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2000 at Santa Rosa de Lima Mission Chapel, 2015 N. Calle Central. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Holy Hope cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to HEATHER MORTUARY.

BOTEL, Robert H., 85, died April 12, 2000. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Eleanor Botel; father of Bill (Karen) and Bob (Betty); grandfather of five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother of Florence Buksch and George (Jean). KORN, Peter P., 80, of Tucson, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Korn; sons, Paul Korn, Roger Korn; daughters, Christine Marlotti, Barbara Madden; sister, Olga Pace; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. JAMES W. PROSSER - Age 59, went to be with the Lord April 14, 2000. Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 4, 1941 and moved to Tucson in 1962. He is survived by his mother, Laurette of Chicago, IL; his children, Daniel (Cheryl), Jeannie Gadea (Manuel), Thomas (Maria), Robert and Kathryn Prosser, all of Tucson; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Judy Wagner and Mary Drent of Chicago and many dear friends and relatives. He was a kind, loving man who will be greatly missed by those left behind. Memorial Services will be held at EVERGREEN MORTUARY & cemetery, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile on Sunday, April 16, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice or to the National Rifle Association.

RABAGO, Frank H., Sr., 76, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away April 12, 2000. Survived by wife, Carmen Rabago; daughters, Elizabeth (Ron) Haro and Marisa (Carlos) Valdez; sons, Fernando (Dolly), Robert (Lily) and Frank H., Jr. Rabago; sister, Cha Cha Larson; brother, Horace H. (Trinidad) Rabago; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2000 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday, April 17, 2000, 9:00 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church, 801 N. Grande Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. RASCON, Donato O., 70, passed away April 12, 2000. preceded in death by parents, Donato Sr. and Josefa Rascon; sisters, Jo Diaz and Dora Sainz; brother, Edward Rascon. Donato is survived by wife, Mary E. Rascon; sister, Mary Olguin; beloved niece, Yolanda Ramirez, and many other nieces and nephews. He worked at the PFE for 43 years as a railroad car man, and was a member of the Marine Corps League. Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 17, at St. Ambrose's Church, 300 S. RUFFNER, Charles Wesley, Ret. Lt. Col, 78, died April 11, 2000. Survived by wife of 57 years, Christina; children, Patricia Ann and Barry Scott Ruffner; two grandchildren. ALBRO, Lewis G., 77, of Tucson, died April 14, 2000. Survived by brother, Jack (Margaret) Albro; seven nieces and nephews. Mr. Albro served on the Rodeo and Parade Committee. He was a member of the JayCees of Tucson, Tucson Vigilantes, Elks Lodge #385, F.O.E. Aerie #180 in Tucson and Moose-Adrian Lodge #1034 in Michigan. Services Monday, 2:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY. Catanzaro and Anamarie Chervenick; grandfather of Tamara (Kevin M.D.) Klauer, Shiela Rossi, Patrick Rossi, Rick (Connie) Rossi, Paul Vigansky and Dan Vigansky; great-grandfather of Alissa and Ross Klauer; brother of Ann Redd, Bill (Sis) Chervenick, Dr. Paul (Shirley) Chervenick and Andrew (Dorothy) Chervenick; father-in-law of Richard Rossi. John was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie on March 28 and his daughter, Bobbie Rossi.
