ERICKSON, BYRON went to meet his Lord, on April 18, 2000. He was born December 24, 1920 in Rocky Ford, CO. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce Erickson; children, Ellen Keeley, Kathy (Reed) Haakenson, Byron Erickson, Jr., Wendy (Gary) Binger, Clifford (Barbara) Erickson; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Walter (Lucilla) Erickson; two sisters, Fern Adams and Kathleen (Bill) Whitley; and many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by one infant son, Paul Christian; and a 21-year-old granddaughter, Bonnie McRoy; sister, Irene (Ed); and his parents. Byron was in the Air Force 5 years during WWII. Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran church, 8845 N. Silverbell Rd. at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 24. Memorial's may be given to the church or school.

GOMEZ, Dolores, F. (Estevan), born December 26, 1925, joined our heavenly Father, April 17, 2000. preceded in death by beloved wife, Bertha C. Gomez. Cherished Father to Sylvia (Ray) Tautimer, Estevan (Veronica) Gomez, Jorge (Michelle) Gomez, Lupe (John) Griego, Steve Gomez, Juana (Richard) Montoya, Cecilia (Pedro) Ruiz, Jesse Gomez and Victoria Aguilar. Survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation April 24, 2000 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary, 240 S. Stone Avenue, South Chapel. Mass on April 25, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church. Internment at Holy Hope cemetery.

ZIESAT, SR., Harold A., Beloved father, grandfather, and husband, joined the Lord on April 18, 2000. Born on March 1, 1915 in West New York, New Jersey, and lived most of his life in New York. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1946, and worked as an agent for the U.S. Treasury Department, before moving to Tucson in 1970. A loyal UofA football fan, he never missed a home game in over 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Florence; his sons, Harold, Jr., Clifford and Robert; and his grandchildren, Marie Claire and Christopher. Memorial service to be held at 2:00 pm, Monday April 24, at Swan Funeral Home, 1335 S. Swan Rd.

CALLAN, Mary B., 88, died April 17, 2000. ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, (888-1111)

DIAZ, Miguel T., 81, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away April 21, 2000. Survived by wife, Bertha D. Diaz; daughters, Irma (Manuel) Nuanez-Rodriguez; Mary (Frank Haro) Anaya and Alice (Arnold) McCormick; sons, George and Marcos Diaz; brothers, Jose S. and Rafael Diaz. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2000 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, South Chapel, 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Wednesday, April 26, 2000, 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He loved music and was a musician for many years. May he be in the loving hands of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our love will be with you forever.

HOWELL, Doris D., 84, of Tucson, AZ, passed away April 20, 2000. Survived by daughter, Carolyn J. (Ted) White; grandchildren Debi Sahli, CA, Donna (Stephen) Craig, VA, David (Terrie) White, AZ, Lisette Huffman, TX, Kim (William) Torruellas, MD, and Robert Edward (AeKyong), Korea; brothers, Ken Sharp, Scottsdale, and Lewis Sharp, Chicago, IL; sister, Gladys McMillian, MI; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Elton, Clayton and Herschuel; and sisters-in-law, Margaret, Phyllis and Betty. Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. (@ Magee), with Pastor Dan Valasakos officiating. JEMES, Connie Ann, 37, passed away March 31, 2000 in Cataldo, Idaho. Born May 20, 1962 in Tucson, AZ. Daughter of William Leo and Glendalyn (Price) Jemes.
Survived by son, Michael Clay Wesner; daughter, Mandy Rose Wesner; her mother, Glenda Hussey; father and step-mother, Leo and Jackie Jemes; her maternal grandmother, Rose Price; a brother, Bill Jemes; three sisters, Shelly McClary, Wendy Ratliff, Debbie Jennings; eight nieces and nephews, an aunt, and two uncles all of Tucson, AZ
Memorial services will be held at First Southern Baptist Church, 445 E. Speedway, Tucson at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2000. Connie will be deeply missed.

KELLY, Raymond A., 73, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord, his best friend, on April 21, 2000. Survived by wife, Nancy; children, Darlene (Eugene) Edwards, Maxine (Tom) Caffarella, Kathy (Greg) Schang, Mark (Karin) Kelly; step-children, Susan (Randy) Fehr, William Bell, Greg (Mary) Bell; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceded by his first wife Mable. Active in the Nazarene church since 1947, he worked with youth groups, your camp and was an active member of Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene. He was also a member of the choir and the church bowling league. Ray was also an active member of the Gideon Society. He worked as a crossing guard at Tortolita Junior High School, after retiring from Iron Workers Local #75. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Funeral service 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene, 500 W. Concordia. Burial Follows at EAST LAWN PALMS cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or missions.

OLSON, John A., 82, born April 15, 1918, died April 21, 2000. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Hazel; son, Norman (Tanya) Olson; daughter, Cheryl Olson-Wimmer; grand- daughter, Lesley Wimmer; brothers, George P. Ernest Raymond, Charles Edward and Jerome Olson; sister, Lola Songer. preceded in death by sister, Myrtle and brother, Paul Oliver. Friends may call 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2000 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. WEBER, Michael Joseph, 51, of Tucson, went to join his father on April 22, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Jean; his children, Peter Weber, Jeremy Casey, Justin (Denise) Casey, Jenifer Casey and Brandon Uphaus, all of Tucson and Jeana Weber of Encinitas, CA; grandchildren, Tyler Casey and Jordan Casey; his mother, Dorothy J. Weber of Tucson; and sister, Chris (Robert) Blakestad of Denver, CO. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Anthony Weber on January 24, 1996. As an U.S. Marine, Mr. Weber served two tours in Viet Nam. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile.

BICKERTON, Laura, 82, of Green Valley, died early Monday morning, April 24, 2000. Mrs. Bickerton was born in Hanna, AB, Canada, October 30, 1917. She graduated valedictorian from Crescent Heights High School, Calgary, AB in 1935. She married Earl Bickerton December 16, 1944.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda. Survivors include her husband, three children, Larry (Mary) of Nelson, BC and Charlie (Susan) of Walnut Creek, CA, and Cheryl Boydston (Brad) of Turlock, CA; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Angie East, Calgary.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday at Community Church of Green Valley, 300 W. Esperanza Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vista- Care Hospice, 5099 E. Grant Rd., Ste 131, Tucson, AZ 85712 or a charity of choice.

CALLAWAY, Jewel Crawford, was born in 1906 in Hornsby, Tennessee to Albert and Sarah Crawford and died peacefully in Tucson, Arizona on April 20, 2000.
Jewel Crawford graduated first in her class from high school in Bolivar, Tennessee and held degrees in nursing from the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. She married E. Farris Callaway in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1938 and moved to Tucson in 1948. In Tucson, she was a member of the nursing staffs of the Veteran's Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital, and the Tucson Medical Center. She practiced private duty nursing in Tucson for many years before retiring in 1970.
She is survived by her three children, William H. (Kay) Callaway and Charles Edmund (Marie) Callaway, and Barbara Jean Callaway (Irwin) Pollack of Princeton, New Jersey; and grandchildren, Chad, Logan and Kendra of William Callaway and Stella, Teresa, Linda, Joseph and Tom of Charles Callaway. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, descendants of her late ten brothers and sisters.
She was a strong and independent woman, who delighted in riding the buses across Tucson and walking many miles each day in the desert. She loved the sunsets and the mountains, and for many years grew roses in her yard. For the last twelve years of her life, she lived in the Blossum Inn Adult Care Home in Tucson, where she delighted the staff with her strong will, great dignity, and gentle spirit. She was dearly loved and will be missed. The family wishes to thank the staff at Blossum Inn and Carondelet Hospice for their special care.
Funeral and burial arrangements are through the East Lawn Memorial cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Blossum Inn Adult Care Home in Tucson.

CASTANO, Richard Victor, 42, left on April 20, 2000 to be with the Father and the Son after a troubled and painful life. Richard is survived by his life-long soul mate, Lupe Castano; two beautiful daughters, Lisa Marie and Yvonne; three stepdaughters; one stepson; two aunts, Ruth (Richard) Cook and Dolores (Ray) Ritson; one sister; and numerous other family members and friends. Graveside service 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2000 at Holy Hope cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on the 26th at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott.

Genevieve A. CHIHAK, 77, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away April 16, 2000. preceded in death by parents, Anthony and Genevieve Cahill Chihak; sisters, Mary Elizabeth, Rosemary and Patricia Ann. Survived by brother, Francis (Mary) Chihak of Tucson, AZ; niece, Genevieve (Lee) Heath; nephews, Michael A. (Ellen), Donald P. (Pam), and Francis A. (Margaret) Chihak. Also survived by many cousins including John (Nancy) Donahue and Rosie Kahler who were especially helpful during her illness.
Genevieve was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School. She was an insurance underwriter for many years with firms both in Dubuque & Tucson, AZ, retiring in 1987.
Graveside Services will be offered on Tuesday, April 25, 2000, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Hope cemetery.

CRAWFORD, Michael, 74, of Tucson, AZ, died April 22, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Jean; his children, Therese Wende of Tucson, AZ; Stephen (Lydia) of Waukegan, IL; Kathleen of Bloomington, IL; his grandchildren, Daniel (Elizabeth), Cassandra, Michael and Jennifer, and William, Elspeth and Michael Crawford; sister, Helen (Tim) Marsh of Shelbyview, TN. Mike served in the Navy in WWII and in the Airforce in the Korean War. He retired from Abbott Laboratory. He was a well loved husband, father, grandfather and brother to all. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave at Magee, Wednesday, April 26, 2000 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8650 N. Shannon Rd., Thursday, April 27, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 40 N. Swan Rd., Tucson, 85711 or St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
