Elmer Silk
Elmer "Gene" Silk died Saturday, July 24, 1999 in Kingman. He was 74.
Mr. Silk was born Feb. 12, 1925 in Skiatook, Okla. He worked in the grocery business for 39 years.
Mr. Silk is survived by: one daughter, Ruth Guinn of Kingman; two sons, Silas Kendall of Farley, Mo. and Odis Kendall of Wathena, Kan.; one brother, Robert Silk of Owasso, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Silk will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. A service will follow at 11 a.m., after which he will be buried at Mountain View Cemetery.

Helen Louise Miller
Helen Louise Miller died Tuesday, July 20, 1999 in Kingman. She was 90.
Mrs. Miller was born June 14, 1919 in Denver, Colo. She was a Kingman resident for 35 years.
Mrs. Miller is survived by: son Thomas Boggio of Kingman; daughter Joann Garoutte of Shallow Water, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 22, 1999 at College Park Baptist Church. Cremation was handled by Sutton Crematory.

Herbert K. Biddulph
Herbert K. Biddulph, a former Kingman resident, died Friday, July 16, 1999 in Scottsdale. He was 87.
Mr. Biddulph was born in Seattle, Wash. He lived in the Los Angeles area before moving to Buckeye during the Depression. There he worked at his uncles auto dealership, Walter Butler Motors. In the years after World War II, he became a partner in an auto dealership, Biddulph and Dunton Ford Motor Co., in Kingman.
He was instrumental in incorporating Kingman and was elected as its first mayor in 1952. He lived in Kingman for eight years. He continued his career as an auto dealer in Las Vegas. He helped his two sons establish dealerships in California and Arizona. He retired in the mid-1970s and moved to Walnut Creek, Calif. to raise Arabian horses. In 1987 he moved to Scottsdale.
Mr. Biddulph was a member of the Arizona and Nevada Auto Dealers associations.
Mr. Biddulph is survived by: wife Margaret; three sons, Kemp, Ben and Barry; daughter Markey; brother Burton; three sisters, Lois Ogan, Edith Root and Sylvia Berry; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Bruce I. Wells
Bruce I. Wells died Wednesday, July 21, 1999 in Kingman. He was 75.
Mr. Wells was born June 22, 1924 in Blackwell, Okla. He was a Kingman resident for 11 years. He moved to Kingman from California.
He worked in dry cleaning and as a Realtor. He served as U.S. Marine. Mr. Wells was a member of the American Legion and a Mason.
Mr. Wells is survived by: wife, Betty; two sons, Bruce and Richard; daughter Wanda Jean; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
No services are planned. Sutton Crematory will handle cremation.

Marjorie Jo Loucks
Marjorie Jo Loucks died Saturday, July 17, 1999 in Kingman. She was 76.
Mrs. Loucks was born September 26, 1922 in Dallas, Texas. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Loucks is survived by: husband Joe Loucks of Kingman; four sons, Don, Bob, Rick and Bill all of Kingman; daughter Linda of Kingman; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Elmer and Pearl Gray.
Graveside services, to be presided over by Rev. Byron Owens of Melody Assembly of God, will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, July 22, at Mountain View Cemetery.

Roy D. Lawrence Jr.
Roy D. "Danny" Lawrence Jr. died July 18, 1999 in Seligman. Mr. Lawrence was born Feb. 16, 1947 in Roswell, N.M.
Mr. Lawrence served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a heavy equipment operator and construction worker.
Mr. Lawrence is survived by: wife Vicki Lawrence of Seligman; daughter Dusty Murdock of Duncan; two sons, Vernon Lawrence of Lancaster, Calif. and Zane Lawrence of Duncan; three sister, Wanda Lawrence of Kanab, Utah, Loretta Reaves of Eureka, Kansas, and Rebecca Gross of Golden Valley; brother David Lawrence of Kingman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel A. and Roy D. Lawrence Sr.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, July 23, 1999 at Seligman Cemetery.

Kenneth Earl Nowning
Kenneth Earl Nowning died Saturday, July 17, 1999 in Kingman. He was 82.
Mr. Nowning was born Nov. 9, 1916 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. He was a motel manager and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He also was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Kingman, and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 10 and Seabees.
Mr. Nowning is survived by: his wife, C. Marie Nowning of Kingman; one son, Mark Lee Nowning of Klamath Falls, Ore.; a stepson, James A. Hinckley of Kingman; two stepdaughters, Linda D. Brewer of Beddias, Texas and Janine A. Helten of Kingman; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A service for Mr. Nowning, under the direction of Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 1999 at Trinity Episcopal Church with Rev. John McLeester officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
The family has requested any donations be made to Trinity Episcopal Church at 423 E. Spring Street, DAV Chapter 10 or the Alzheimer's Association.

Don Westreicher
Don Westreicher died Sunday, July 18, 1999. He was 65.
Mr. Westreicher was born October 6, 1933 in Norwalk, Calif. He moved to Kingman, where he lived for the 20 years before his death, from Turlock, Calif. He was retired from the city parks and recreation department. Mr. Westreicher served in the Korean War, from 1953-1955.
He is survived by: wife Colene Westreicher of Kingman; son Randy Westreicher of Kingman; brother Robert Westreicher of Turlock, Calif.; sister Clara Collum of Kingman; and one grandson.
No funeral services are planned. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory.

William A. Montgomery
William A. Montgomery died Wednesday, July 14, 1999 in Dolan Springs. He was 88.
Mr. Montgomery was born March 4, 1911 in La Pine, Ore. He worked as a sheet metal worker for various construction companies. He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Montgomery is survived by: his wife, Alexandria "Lucky" Montgomery, Dolan Springs; two daughters, Joni Irwin of Los Angeles, Calif., and Barbara Abad of Corona, Calif.; brother James Montgomery of Lake Oswego, Ore.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Helen J. Montgomery.
No services are scheduled. Sutton Crematory will handle cremation.

Ruth E. Miller
Ruth E. Miller died Wednesday, July 14, 1999 in Kingman. She was 85.
Mrs. Miller was born June 28, 1914 in Evansville, Ind. She worked as a department store clerk and as a homemaker.
Mrs. Miller is survived by: her husband, Arthur W. Miller of Kingman; two daughters, Patricia Gail McDaniels of Nashville, Tenn., and Betty Pheral of Evansville, Ind.; three sisters, Hazel Kenaebel of Pahrump, Nev., Dorothy Mahon of Evansville, Ind., and Betty Kingman, also of Evansville, Ind.; and four brothers, David Corn of Phoenix; Harry Corn of Fort Meyers, Fla., Jim Corn of Washington; and Tommy Corn of California.
Services are pending. Sutton Crematory will handle cremation.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1599 Clifton, Road, N.E., Atlanta, Ga., 30329.
