HATCHER, Christie and Matt Hatcher, 12 and 9, of Tucson, died Sunday, June 2, 1996. Matt and Christie truly enjoyed doing things together although they would rarely admit this. They are still together, now with the Lord and all the joys that Heaven has to offer. We love you guys more than you could know and will cherish every memory that we’ve been left with. We had you for only a short time but you have touched the world through their hearts. Survived by their parents, Don and Cathy Hatcher; sister, Brooke Crawford of WA; grandparents, Bill and Adele Carter of WA and Jim and Bonnie Hatcher of WA; uncles, Tom Hatcher of Tucson, Scott Hatcher of WA, Stephen Carter of WA; aunt, Cheryl Williams of MO; numerous other loving family members and friends. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 1996. Funeral Services will be held at Casa Adobes Baptist Church, Thursday, June 6, 1996 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Donations may be made to The Humane Society.

KASENBERG, Goldie B., 93, of Tucson, died June 1, 1996. Survivors include: niece, Dixie R. Krueger of Boca Raton, FL; great-nieces, Bobbi Thomsen of Orion, IL, Terri Pawli of Boca Raton, FL and Jill Utsinger of Deerfield Beach, FL. Mrs. Kasenberg has been a resident of Tucson for 44 years moving here from IL. Mrs. Kasenberg worked at J. C. Penny’s in Tucson for years. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. June 5, 1996. Funeral Services will be at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 1996 with Pastor Jimmy Munns. Entombment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

KURTZ, E. L. “Tex’, age 73, a 30 year resident of Tucson, passed away June 2, 1996. Born June 16, 1924 in Oil City, PA. Mr. Kurtz was an Air Force Veteran of WWII and Korea. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Louise; sons, Jim (Debbie), Jon (Emma) and Joel (Jolene) Kurtz; grandchildren, Nick, Mike, Terry, Cynthia and Max; one great-granddaughter, Morgan. A Visitation will be held today from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Graveside Service, with Military Honors, will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 1996 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.

McQUEARY, Theresa E., 89, of Tucson, died June 4, 1996. She was born April 8, 1907 in Bristol, RI to Anthony and Philomena Peters. She was their 13th and last surviving child. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond R. McQueary March 18, 1993. She is survived by daughters, Laurie McQueary of Albuquerque, NM, Janet Presser (Wilder R.) of Silver City, NM and Margaret F. Ferrera (Lt. Col. Robert M., USAF), England; niece, Mary Keener, Monroe, MI; nephews, Joseph J. Bisbano, Jr., Fred Bisbano, John David Bisbano and Richard Bisbano, all of Bristol, RI. Cryptside Services will be June 6, 1996 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Hope Cemetery. Entombment will be in Holy Hope Mausoleum. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.

MURGUIA, Juana V., 86, of Tucson, passed away June 3, 1996. Survived by daughters, Rachel (Augustine) Diaz, Genevieve Palomino, Kathryn (Fernando) Martinez, Josie (Fernando) Leon, Martha (Johnny) Urrea, Gloria Patino, Delfina (Danny) Tellez, Dora (Edward) Norzagaray, and Stella Rivera; sons, Porfirio, Fred Jr. and Henry (Nancy) Murguia; brother, Ramon Valdivia; 41 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 1996 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Friday, June 7, 1996 at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. at 9:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

ODELL, Clarence W. III “Chip’ 47, born January 20, 1949, died May 30, 1996. Memorial Service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8th at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to The Educational Fund for Chip’s children, c/o any Bank One Branch, Tucson, AZ.

ODELL, Chip Odell, died May 30, 1996. He is survived by his family and long-time love, Mary; along with many devoted friends who love him and will miss him. Friends will join to celebrate his life Saturday, June 8th 3:00 p.m. at Daisy Mae’s Steak House, 2401 S. Wilmot Rd.

ROBINSON, Madalyn M., 88, passed away on June 1, 1996. She is survived by son, Maitland Z. Robinson; four grandchildren, Craig T. Robinson, Blair K. Robinson, Ricky Z. Robinson, Jody A. Charter; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Gene Minerd of Wheaton, MD. There will be no funeral services. Donations in her name may be made to Carondelet Hospice of St. Mary’s Hospital.

TUM SUDEN, Bertha S., 93, died June 1, 1996. Survived by her daughter, Lois B. Carswell of Tucson; son, Edward Tum Suden of NY; grandchildren, Nancy L. Cassidy-Kennard and Allison L. Cassidy, both of DE; brother, Edward O. Kaasmann of NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Carondelet Hospice would be appreciated. No services are planned. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

WILLIS, James L., 66, of Tucson, died June 1, 1996. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 19, 1996 at 5:00 p.m. at Tucson Country Club.

McPHERSON, Eva “Maxine’, 71, of Tucson, passed away June 4, 1996. Survived by her husband, Iril of Tucson; sons, Terry Dagon of Phoenix, Robert (Barbara) Dagon of WV, Kevin (Sonner) McPherson of Denmark, Sweden; daughter, Sandra Moser; five grandchildren; one brother, Donald Bush of CA. Friends may call at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Friday, at 1:00 p.m. at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES with interment in WV.

MUNDY, Harold J., 87, of Tucson, died May 30, 1996. Survived by son, Michael J. Mundy; daughters, Leona Armstrong and Maureen Brisbois; 12 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Entombment 9:00 a.m. on Friday at Holy Hope Mausoleum.

BERTH, Elaine F., 57, of Morenci, AZ, died June 3, 1996. Survived by her husband, Carl of Morenci; and her parents, George and Cecile Moris of Tucson. No services are planned. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

HAYNES, Patsy Hargitt, 70, of Tucson, died June 3, 1996. She was born in Whittier, CA and spent her early years in San Marino, CA. She came to Tucson in 1942, graduated from Tucson Senior High School, and attended the University of Arizona where she was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. Pat was a past president of the Tucson Kennel Club and served as secretary of the Tucson Kennel Club for more than 30 years. She was a past president and honorary member of the Old Pueblo Dogs Training Club. She was a member of Tucson Chapter E of P.E.O. and an associate member of the Patio Garden Club. She is survived by her husband, John C. Haynes, Jr.; sister-in-law, Sylvia Haynes Pfersdorf (James); brother-in-law, Harry H. Haynes (Bonnie); and by cousins in CA. At her request no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that a memorial donation be made to your favorite charity.

HAYNIE, Glen E., 75, of Wales, UT, and formerly of Orem left this earthly life to join his sweetheart Friday, May 31, 1996 from Nephi, UT. He was born October 12, 1920 in Colonial Pearson, Chihuahua, Mexico, a son of Glen and Aula Martineau Haynie. He married Helen Butler November 25, 1937 in Douglas, AZ. The marriage was solemnized December 15, 1942 in the Mesa, AZ LDS Temple. She died October 14, 1977. He attended schools in Mexico and Arizona. He worked with his dad doing range and cattle work for several years. Most of his life was spent in the copper mines and on the railroad in Arizona and Peru, South America where he lived with his family for 14 years. He retired as an employee for the State of Arizona. His first love was “cowboying’. His hobbies and interests included mechanics, rodeos, and he loved to visit with people. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings throughout his life. He loved the Gospel. Survivors include his children, Gary Haynie, Tucson, AZ, Glenna (Bill) Davis, Salt Lake City, UT, Annette (Randy) Dalton, West Valley City, UT, Kristine (Randall) Beckstrom, Magna, UT; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and his brothers and sisters, Carl Haynie, Clarence Haynie, both of Orem, UT, Glen Dora Galbraith, Pleasant Grove, UT, Marie Houghtaling, Raleigh, NC and Alma Ann Schneider, Kent, WA. He was preceded in death by his wife, his son, Lester, his parents, and his brothers, Max and Lynn. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 4, at 11:00 a.m. in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E. 800 North, Orem, UT. Friends may call Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be Thursday, June 6, at 1:30 p.m. in the LDS Cemetery, Tucson, AZ.

HERALD, Hazel V., born September 6, 1922, passed on May 14, 1996. Survived by daughter, Mary Jean Antone; granddaughters, Barbara Urias, Suzanne Urias and Fawn Antone; and nine great-grandchildren. She was a founding member of the American Indian Association. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Southside Presbyterian Church. Burial Services Wednesday, June 5 at 7:00 a.m. at Upper San Tan Presbyterian Church, Gila River Tribal Community.

HOLDERMAN, Linda, 56, died Monday, June 3, 1996 in Tucson Medical Center’s Hospice Unit. She is survived by her husband, Hugh; daughters, Kathy Price of Tucson, and Kelly Barrick (Dennis) of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Nichole Price and Zachary Barrick; and sister, Ann Rassi (Raymond), also of Tucson. She was preceded in death by her son, Kent Alberson. A resident of Tucson since 1978, Linda was employed at Burr-Brown Corporation. A fun-loving person, she will be missed by her family and friends. Services will be held Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to TMC Hospice in Linda’s memory.

MASTRANGELO, Helen A., 90 years old, died Saturday, June 1, 1996 in Tucson. Survived by four sons, Donald (Angie) Mastrangelo of Tucson, Louis (Glynda) Mastrangelo of Lakeside, AZ, Anthony (Patricia) Mastrangelo of Tucson, AZ, Vincent Mastrangelo of Solano Beach, CA; two brothers, Albert Lucy of Johnson City, NY, Edward Lucy of Colfax, CA; nine grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Donald, Louis, Donald, Christina, Lisa Weisenberger, Lora Nelson, Anthony; eight grandchildren. Mass for Mrs. Mastrangelo will be said at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 1996 at St. Francis de Sales Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco, with burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 1996 at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway, where Scripture Services will be held at 7:00 p.m.

PARKER, Lawrence Wayne, of Tucson, was born in Birthright, TX in 1914. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Esther Mae Parker; children, Beverly Jean Parker of Sonoita and Lawrence David Parker of Tucson. Mr. Parker worked for the CCCs in the 1930's. Esther and Lawrence moved to Tucson on their Wedding Day in 1939 to run the Santa Rita Resort in Madera Canyon. He left that job to be a fire spotter on Mt. Wrightston for the U.S. Forest Service. In 1941 he started service with the Davis-Monthan AFB Fire Dept., and remained there until his retirement in 1973 as Fire Chief. He received many awards as Outstanding Fire Department in the Strategic Air Command. After retirement he worked as a security guard at St. Joseph Hospital. He was an active member and long time deacon of the First Brethren Church. A visitation will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Wednesday, June 5, 1996 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 1996 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL. Entombment will be at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, are requested to the First Brethren Church, 201 N. Columbus Blvd., Tucson, 85711.

DOSSETT, Claude, 87, passed away May 26, 1996. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary and survived by many friends. Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 1996 at Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd and Swan, with Rev. Lew Runion officiating. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children in care of Sabbar Shrine Temple, 450 S. Tucson Blvd., Tucson AZ 85716.

FREY, Carol Jean, 57, born March 18, 1939 in Tucson, AZ died May 27, 1996 in San Francisco, CA. Survived by her father, Carl Earl Frey of Tucson; children, Holly Hale, Nicholas Hale and Daniel Hale; grandson, Max, all residing in CA. Also survived by her brother, William Jones of Lafayette, IN. Ms. Frey dedicated 30 years of her life to improving the lives of those suffering from mental illness. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her. Private services will be held in San Francisco.
