LEWIS, Gene T., 77, a 43 year resident of Sun City, formerly of Illinois, died Friday, April 12, 1996 at Sun Health Care Center. Survived by wife, Irene G. (nee Tanner) of Sun City, AZ; and sister, Dorothy Young of West Frankford, IL. Mr. Lewis was a Senior Real Property Agent for Pima County Government and a member of B.P.P.E. Lodge #2559 in Sun City. Funeral Services Saturday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Willowbrook United Methodist Church. Memorials may be sent to Willowbrook. U.M. NATKOWSKI, Harry D., 73, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away April 14, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Marion in Las Vegas; daughters, Donna M. (Raymond) Stout of Tucson, Patricia A. (Peter) Lucas of White Lake, MI; son, Robert M. (Susan) Natkowski of Tucson; grandsons, Robert of Tucson, Joel (Melanie) of Tucson, and Michael E. Lucas of White Lake, MI; sisters, Virginia Wesolowski of Livonia, MI, and Margaret Winson of Tucson; along with many nieces and nephews. He was a successful business man in Detroit, MI, Tucson, and Las Vegas. Services will be held in Southfield, MI, April 18, 1996. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5325 E. Pima, 85712.

NORTHWAY, Joan, age 64, a 50 year resident of Tucson, passed away April 16, 1996 in Tucson. Born June 18, 1931 in Topmost, Kentucky. Survived by her husband of 41 years, Kenneth; daughter, Geriann (Rick) Graham; sons, Ralph (Lovita Holmes) Northway and Lawrence (Lynda) Northway; grandchildren, Genavie (John) Wagner, Kimberly, Bethany and Ashley. A Memorial Service will be held 9:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 1996 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave.

PULFORD, Lillian Marie, 79, of Tucson, passed away April 12, 1996. She was born in Michigan and moved to Arizona 20 years ago with her husband of 52 years. Besides her ever loving husband, Victor, she is survived by her devoted son, Curtis. In her youth she was a tournament tennis player. Later, after a career as an Executive Secretary, she quit work to concentrate on motherhood and homemaking. She still remained active in sports as a golfer and skier. She was a true U of A Wildcat fan. Never without a smile, Lillian had a gift for jokes and lived life to the fullest. She will forever be remembered in our hearts. BARR, L.A. (Pete) Sr., 71, of Catalina, went to be with his loving wife Pat on April 14, 1996. Pete was born in Barton, ND and has lived in Tucson and Catalina for 40 years. He served in he Army during WWII and retired from Millwright Local 1914 in 1987. Pete raced stock cars for a number of years in Tucson and Phoenix. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing and boating. Pete is survived by his sister, Mavis Rusk of Great Falls, MT; daughter, Karen (Ron) Lang; sons, William L. Barr Sr. (Sandy), L.A. Buzz Barr Jr. (Sue); seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Military Graveside Services, Wednesday, April 17 10:00 a.m. Evergreen Cemetery. BEGLEY, James E. 'Jim', born in Chicago June 10, 1925, died April 13, 1996 at the VA Hospital. His remains will be placed in a columbarium at Punchbowl Cemetery in Hawaii at a later date.

BLOODGOOD, Peter, 69, passed through Heaven's door on April 14, 1996. Beloved husband of Elfi E. Bloodgood; and beloved uncle Peter to Scott, Aaron, Bill and Sharon. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 17, 1996 at the New Apostolic Church, 8282 E. BOCHICCHIO, Anthony F., 38, of Tucson, passed away April 12, 1996. Survived by his mother, Mrs. Virginia Bochicchio; sister, Lucille (Jack) Spencer of Tucson; brother, Dan (Pat) of Tucson; many nieces and nephews also survive. FORD, John Calvin, age 55, of Tucson, died Thursday, April 11, 1996. Survivors include his wife, Mary; sons, Stephen and Scott Ford; stepchildren, Sherry and Gary Van Dongen; brothers, Robert and Lyndn Ford; beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rexford R. Ford and Marjorie McClelland. Mr. Ford retired in 1995 after 34 years of Civil Service employment working with AMARC. Memorial Services will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway) 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 1996, with Rev. James Daughtry officiating. There will be a gathering of friends at Mary and John's home immediately following service. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Jay E. GIACOPPO, Salvatore Peter, 96, of Tucson, died April 14, 1996. Survivors include his wife, Erna Henriette Giacoppo; nephews, Frank and Joseph Del Vecchio, Joseph Giacoppi and Vincent Palange; and niece, Sister Mary Vincent Palange. Mr. Giacoppo was a US Navy Veteran of WWI. He was born and raised in Boston, MA and has lived with his wife in Tucson for 32 years. He worked for the US Post Office and also had a balloon business. Salvatore was a man of deep faith in the Lord. A friendly, cheerful and extremely generous man, Sal will be missed by many throughout the US. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, The Disabled Americans Veterans, the Italian American Club, and the Old Time Westenders of Boston. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 1996. GIVAN, Ginger S., 18, was born in Tucson on September 9, 1977, lived most of her life in Elfrida, AZ and died April 14, 1996 in Tucson. She was the loving mother of Christopher Marcus and Miranda Desiree Brown, the beloved fiancee of Floyd R. Brown, the beautiful daughter of Carol A. Ogier and Gale A. Givan. She was survived by an adoring sister, Genevra K. Givan, a loving step-father, David A. Ogier, doting grandparents, and numerous devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Ginger constantly surrounded herself with family and friends always wanting love and peace to be shared equally. Ginger was very forgiving, giving her energies for the benefit of others, and influenced everyone she met to be a better person expressing kindness towards others. Ginger, true to her name, was the spice of our life, full of spirit, fun-loving and the caretaker of us all. Ginger was our angel on earth and now watches over us from heaven. Visitation services will be held Wednesday, April 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. Elfrida Community Center in Elfrida, AZ. Interment will follow at the McNeal Cemetery in McNeal, AZ. GONZALES, Augustine V., 58, of Tucson, passed away April 12, 1996. Survived by fiance, Helen Gallegos; ex-wife and friend, Bernice Gonzales; daughters, Nancy (Rafael) Alcaraz, Mercy (Ray) Nevarez, Jenny Gonzales (Rudy Villaescusa), Connie Gonzales, (Rachel Tizando and Nancy Mullett); sons, Frank V. Gonzales and Juan Gonzales; sister, Virginia Vasquez; brothers, Juan Gonzales and Manuel Gonzales. Also survived by ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 1996 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

HACKNEY, Janis J., died April 12, 1996. Survived by her son, Rick Hackney; grandchildren, Joshua, Chris, Tammy and Jamie; brother, Charles Yohe and sisters, Doris Stoffer and Eileen Mathews. Preceded in death by husband, Ralph E. Hackney. Graveside Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. HALL, Dorothy Mae, 81, died April 13, 1996. The angels of the Lord came to take 'Nanny' to be with her husband Clarence E. Hall in paradise. She was born October 24, 1914 in PA and is survived by one brother, Melvin Javens of CA; and one sister, Lauretta Welles of PA; and by her three children, Clarence E. (Doris) Hall Jr. of San Antonio, TX, Viola 'Dolly' Bailey of Tucson and David L. (Jenny) Hall of Lisbon, OH; 15 grandchildren, three of which reside in Tucson, they are; Jeanne (Herbert) Silverberg, Susan (Dr. F.P. 'Rick') Wedel and Pam (David) Dickerson; and dozens of great-grandchildren also survive. She was a member of Northwest Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway with eulogy by her son Clarence. Interment will follow at TMP East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel on Tuesday, April 16 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. She was adored and cherished by all who knew and loved her. She spent her entire life giving generously of her time and love to her family. She cared for so many with consistent tenderness and unwavering dedication. She will be greatly missed, but her family feels blessed to have shared so much time with her and rejoices in her eternal peace as we now turn her over into God's loving care. 'Nanny' will live on in our hearts forever. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

JACOBSON, Dean Jeffery 'Deano', age 32 went to be with Our Father on April 11, 1996. He was born February 14, 1964 in Hunington, CT. Deano was a champion for animal rights, vegetarianism and environmental awareness. He will be greatly missed and loved always. Beloved son of Elaine M. Pekarske, son of David R. Jacobson; grandson of Elizabeth Enemon; stepson of Robert J. Pekarske; brother and wife, David and Virginia Jacobson; brother and girlfriend, Dan 'Dano' Jacobson and Teri Adams; nephews, Doug, Trevor, Kyle; friend, Pat Lytton and especially his loyal companion and faithful friend 'Chestnut'.

LAGUNA, Steve, 38, of San Manuel, AZ, passed away April 13, 1996. Survived by wife, Cathy; grandparents, Francisco Maldonado; parents, Manuel Laguna, Rosie Roberts; in-laws, Phil and Pam Turoski; sister-in-law, Jackie Turoski; step-mother, Celia Laguna; daughter, Michelle; sons, Steve A. Ray, Juan M. Laguna, Thomas Laguna; sisters, Julie, Rosie, and Terry; brothers, Arthur, Frank, Richard, Ronnie, Manny, John, Andy, Paul, Jose, and Jesus Laguna; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 1996 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 609 Park Place, San Manuel, AZ with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Silver City, NM on Friday, April 19, 1996. MCGEE, Maria 'Susanne', 41, of Tucson, died April 13, 1996. Survivors include: her mother, Sarah; two brothers, Michael (Sharon) McGee and Richard McGee; two nieces, Aimee and Michele; one nephew, Jordon plus many loving friends. She attended Catalina High School and graduated from U of A. Susanne worked for several newspapers in Florida and the 'Wildcat.' Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. McNEIL, John D., 97, of Tucson, died April 13, 1996. He is survived by wife, Christine; children, John D. (Sharrell) McNeil Jr. of Fountain Hill, AZ, Sharon K. (Norman) Scharlau of Tucson; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren. He was a 30 year veteran of the U.S. Army and retired at the rank of Captain. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 17, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Fuller officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. NEWELL, Ramon Antonio, age 52, a 30 year resident of Tucson, passed away April 14, 1996. Born December 28, 1943 in Lordsburg, NM. Mr. Newell retired from the University of Arizona as a landscaper. Survived by his daughters, Patricia (Michael) Perez and Angie (David) Elenes; sons, Ramon Antonio, Randy (Corina) and Andy Newell; grandchildren, Michael James, Amanda, Nathan, Fabian and Ramona. Visitation will be held today from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Monica Catholic Church. Burial in Lordsburg, NM.

STEENSLAND, Col. Albert E., passed away April 13, 1996 in Tucson. He is survived by Julia, his wife of 51 years; his son, Ronald of Los Angeles; and his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Keith Flaugh of Stamford, CT. He has one surviving brother, Lewis of Gig Harbor, WA; and one surviving sister, Wilma Elgen of Big Timber, MT, as well as several nieces and nephews. Col. Steensland was born in Big Timber, MT on February 5, 1917. He attended the University of Montana, graduating in 1941. He was drafted into the Army shortly after graduation and served in the Army Air Corp in England, North Africa, Italy and India during WWII. After discharge in 1945, he entered the University of Montana Law School and graduated in 1947. He was recalled to active duty in 1951 and served 25 years as an attorney in the Judge Advocate General Department of the U.S. Air Force. After retirement in 1976, Col. and Mrs. Steensland moved to Tucson. He belonged to the Air Force Association, Retired Officers Association, Christ Presbyterian Church and the University of Montana Alumni Association. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Building Fund, Christ Presbyterian Church, 6565 E. Broadway, Tucson 85710; or to the ALS Association, P. O. Box 85595, Tucson 85754-5595. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 18 at Christ Presbyterian Church at the above address. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

TRAVERS, Jason Andrew, age 18, a lifetime resident of Tucson, passed away April 13, 1996. Survived by his parents, Ray and Cathy Travers; fiance, Ann Thurston; brothers, Jeff (Tammy) Hamilton and Ed Travers. Survived by four sons, Fred Velazquez, Jose Angel Velazquez, both of Tucson, Fred Velazquez, and Jose Velazquez, both of Douglas, AZ; two daughters, Rosemaria Carrasco and Anna Christina Franco, both of Tucson; two brothers, Jose Juan Velazquez of AK and Eriberto Velazquez of Agua Prieta, Mexico; one sister, Ernestina Velazquez Vejar of Tucson, AZ; 13 grandchildren. Services for Mr. Velazquez will be Tuesday, April 16, at 5:00 p.m. at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway. Visitation will start at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
